This song got me into heavier music after Gojira. Makes sense to see a cover by you eventually! That verse riff is one of my favourites and so tricky to get it fast and clean.
Thank you for mention this song in a comment earlier, really scratched my Gojira-itch 😁 Any more song recommendations from this band for a fellow Gojira fan?
Thanks for the recommendations guys! Also "In Shadows" gives me heaviest matter-vibes 😁 Hey Steve! What string gauge are you using for this tuning? I have 74 on the lowest and when I do the bend above the nut the string gets trapped so the tuning gets higher and I have to bend it the conventional way to get it in tuning again.
@whitestplayer3014 it's got the stock 10-54 gauge strings on at the moment. I'll be upping up a bit when I change them Try running a sharp pencil through the grooves of the nut and the saddles of the bridge. The graphite of the pencil lead can help stop the string catching.
@@ShadowMantraSteve Definitely, this is one my favourite tracks of theirs. If you ever get the opportunity to see them, do it! Super tight live and Joe’s vocals are on point.
Phenomenal cover as always Steve! I have a question, is there any chance you can make available your templates for Logic Pro, so your faithful following can download to get such a great down as you do for our home use?? Many thanks - Conor
I swear the tapping bit is 12-5-8-12-5-8 (repeat) then 12-3-7-12-3-7 (repeat). You’re playing it right but I think the tabs are wrong (here and on ultimate guitar) I slowed the video, REALLY tried listening to the recording through good headphones, and watching you and some footage of them playing it
I'm still not entirely sure if it's an ascending or descending to be honest. It's a hard one to really pick out in the mix. Sometimes it feels like it's 12 8 5, and sometimes it feels more like 12 5 8
Man that chorus gets me every time. Love playing the breakdown at the end too. Just got into FFAA last summer. Made me buy a 7 string
Bro, do "possessed" by gojira a need tabs for this incredible song
I'd rather see him play another world

That verse riff has been kicking my ass for a while now bro
The verse is a real pain to get clean! One that I need to warm up for to get tight
@@ShadowMantraSteveFOR REAL, the intro verse is the easy part of the song lol
Would like to see you cover Animals As Leaders, particularly Physical Education or Ectogenesis
Never actually tried to learn and Animals as Leaders yet, maybe it's time!
Awesome cover! I’ve been hoping you’d cover an ffaa song, you should cover two towers by them next it’s a killer song
I plan to do some more FFAA in the future! Got some killer riffs!
Duuude so sick! Been looking for tabs for this for ever. Trying to verify shit. Thank you
Dude! Your the best! One of my favorite songs by ffaa thank you

Check out Two Towers from their album Oh What The Future Holds… you’ll know when you hear it!
The Sea of Tragic Beasts is a fun track too. I'd give the latest three albums a listen, all got some killer songs on them!

Amazing bro! Thank you so much for covering this. I was hoping it would win the poll, even as much as I love Meshuggah 😂 nailed it!
First time I heard the intro riff I knew I'd have learn it. So glad I found the band!

The legend is back ❤❤❤ are you planning to do more bass covers from gojiras first 2 albums, like in the forest maybe?
At some point maybe, I'm not sure what I want to do this year yet!
Badass man
Very nice playing my friend! I have the same guitar with the stock pickups do you think replacing them was worth it?

Hi, can you please do a lesson on Gojira-This Emptiness?
🙏

Are you bending the open low G behind the nut in the intro riff?
I am, it's a semi tone bend
