Comparing them to Gojira is a fucking compliment, Gojira is one of the best bands today and Fit For An Autopsy is easily the greatest "deathcore" band around. The Great Collapse is one hell of an album, fucking masterpiece
One of my favourite songs off the new album. People have been sleeping on Fit For An Autopsy for far too long, hopefully people wake up and start paying attention with the new album. Look at that guitar playing, flawless.
I just woke up. A mate played them to me when he gave me a lift to a recent Parkway show. I thought it was ok but I don't usually listen to music this heavy. Since then, the more I've listened to it the more I love it.
Other than that one drum beat there's really no comparison to be made. 'The Shooting Star' has more of a progressive/stoner rock sound to it. The guitar riffs are different, the vocal styles are nothing alike, and the production doesn't sound similar.
This man makes it seem effortless. This is my favorite song so I was a bit bummed when yall didn't play it on your last tour but i saw you guy's in NOLA and yall blew the roof of the place!
Nice to see Will doing playthrough, love you man, you inspire me to keep pushing myself musically and one day be as good as you. Keep up the great work guys, this album is already one of my favorite of all time. Can't stop listening to it \m/
God I've tried learning this riff for so many years and have still to this day got nothing to show for it, absolute master piece, looking forward to seeing you at Roundhouse in October!
love the whole album. but this has to be my favorite song from it. it has a real gojira like feel as well as like this just omnipresence of its meaning
when you want to figure out what they are playing and you watch a playthrough video but on all the important bits the camera switches to a non fret angle. please, when you do playthroughs, focus on the frets!! we want to know what your are playing
Hey, very very late but I thought the same because the drum parts of this song are so amazing. So I've done my own drum cover of the song if you wan't to check it. ua-cam.com/video/olbzhrb1Ezw/v-deo.htmlsi=1yimBDymQlFoK4uy
great song, but you guys gotta hit those low open strings closer to the bridge to keep it from making that "bow" sound from your attack, or use heavier gauge strings.
Anyone have any idea how to play the open twangy chords at 0:27 and 3:33? I have this whole song tabbed out but I can't figure those 2 out no matter how many times I listen to them/watch this.
Tai-Bere Yes! If you have a 7 string, tune the 1st 6 strings to D tuning and then drop the 7th to G. It's more simple than I thought. For the one around 0:33 he just plays the first 3 strings open. They must have some sort of effect over it to give it that "Voxy" tone and as for the ones in the breakdown at the end, just slowly bend the g string on the 4th fret as you strum the first two strings open. And then the next measure play it on the 5 fret but don't bend. Hope that helps.
You know our society is backwards when people like Taylor Swift get nearly a billion views while she's playing 3 chords. Just Kidding, she plays 5 chords if you count the bridges. #MakeAmericaHaveSweepPickingAgain
Stephen there's a reason it's called 'accessible music', it's very easy to consume hence why it's so popular. The world isn't backwards you're just not paying attention to how things work.
Roflfuckyou it's a 'play through' video, the audio from play through videos are almost always just the studio recording. The point is just to show the song being played, they don't want to fuck with the product.
RISE FROM THE ASHES!
OH FOUL BLACK MAMMOTH!
Comparing them to Gojira is a fucking compliment, Gojira is one of the best bands today and Fit For An Autopsy is easily the greatest "deathcore" band around. The Great Collapse is one hell of an album, fucking masterpiece
Too late to comment u, but now FFAA is better just because their last album is much smoother than Gojira’s one)
am i the only one that thinks ffaa is tech death
I completely agree. They are very similar style to Gojira and I'm here for it. Love it
These guys are my absolute idols when it comes to guitarists. They write such powerful riffs
Gaius Caligula I don't disagree, but just to add on.. I think they have one of the more powerful lyrics in the deathcore genre too.
Gaius Caligula I agree to both
check out gojira if you like them riffs lol
These dudes are way heavier than Gojira. And aside from them both playing metal and the harmonic pick slides I don't really see a comparison.
well i just told you...new fit for an autopsy has gojiraesque riffs lol.
The chorus gives me chills dude. Love this song
great to see Will playing too
I was thinking the same thing. Since he doesn't play shows with them a lot of people don't even know who Will is or even that he is apart of the band.
@@evo7836 hes too busy being a god of metal
My eyes were not like this prior to watching this video.
I demand compensation.
We've been spoiled rotten by these playthroughs like holy SHIT. Those harmonic scrapes get me every time.
epic !!
I just heard this shit today. Got so distracted driving missed my exit, then had to pull over for a second. This song is absolutely mind blowing.
One of my favourite songs off the new album. People have been sleeping on Fit For An Autopsy for far too long, hopefully people wake up and start paying attention with the new album. Look at that guitar playing, flawless.
Vheissu I woke up this year thank the gods
same ^
Vheissu agreed this album is great , i also am going to see them in concert
I just woke up. A mate played them to me when he gave me a lift to a recent Parkway show. I thought it was ok but I don't usually listen to music this heavy. Since then, the more I've listened to it the more I love it.
The pennywise shirt fills me with joy.
I seriously can never get enough of the high notes at 3:18 . Easily my favourite part of the whole song. So nasty
Honestly one of the greatest choruses ever written.
Gojira in drop G lol
don't get me wrong i like this a lot
The fact that they sound like Gojira is a good thing, i listen to them because of this.
People keep saying this and I don't get the comparison. Any particular Gojira songs/riffs that you can point me to?
Chris Meier lots of tapping and chuggy riffs. Otherwise it sounds pretty different
The chorus in Black Mammoth is extremely reminiscent of Gojira's "Shooting Star"
Flawless victory
Awesome job on the play through!!! This whole album is just fantastic from start to finish
This is one of my favorites off the new album. Keep em comin boys!
1:02 Badass riffs
The riffs bring out that gojira vibe. Awesome song.awesome band.
This video was my inspiration to start learning guitar 2 years ago
Edit 2022: finally got money to buy an Ibanez! First song I’ll learn is this one
So how’s it going
considering his plan to play a deathcore song as his first one on a new instrument he probably got frustrated haha@@prettyviolence
I've heard this song a while back and I just found it again. so love it
Love this band! Their songwriting is great
This is the best fucking song to ever be written
love the whole album. but this has to be my favorite song from it. it has a real gojira like feel as well as like this just omnipresence of its meaning
Dear god this song is amazing. Just everything.
So powerful!!
wow the power is next lvl !!!! GG

Holy Fuck man, Great guys, great music, very good playing, great lyrics... you are not seeng this very often these days. amazing!
It Took Me A While To Come Across This Gem At The End Of The Year.
hell yes will putney, the man behind amazing bands & albums. No doubt!
So sick!!
3:12 C H O N K Y riff 😩
Thazzzzz an Epic Intro
Biggest fan here in WV.
sick af!
when you want to figure out what they are playing and you watch a playthrough video but on all the important bits the camera switches to a non fret angle. please, when you do playthroughs, focus on the frets!! we want to know what your are playing
This band slaps so hard fucks sake.
The best song on the album
OOMGG YESS
the drums in this song are fucking delicious
Nice shirt, Will!
hell yeeee
I need one of those left handed! Such a sexy guitar :D
What exact model is this?
HOW ABOUT THE DRUM PLAYTHROUGH?!?!?!?! I cannot listen to the intro of this song without jamming along to the drums.. and I'm a guitarist.
Hey, very very late but I thought the same because the drum parts of this song are so amazing.
So I've done my own drum cover of the song if you wan't to check it.
ua-cam.com/video/olbzhrb1Ezw/v-deo.htmlsi=1yimBDymQlFoK4uy
that intro though lml
*bassist has left the band*
This song never seems hard until you try to play the double picked section and give up on life
Fuck I love this!
I rate that Pennywise shirt, it really brings me back.
great song, but you guys gotta hit those low open strings closer to the bridge to keep it from making that "bow" sound from your attack, or use heavier gauge strings.
Probably intentional
Skillz
200th like! :)
🤘🤘🤘🤘
FIT FOR AN GOJIRA ♥ Thanks guy!
What is the model of his guitar?
Do terraform next my dudes
Amazing song. It's too bad that when I saw these guys live I could only hear the vocals and the kick drum.
What ibanez model is that he is playing?? and where is Tim or patrick I'm confused
mikabass Ibanez Prestige RG752WMFX.
Can anybody tell me which exact guitar model he is playing?
Jan P an Ibanez Prestige RG752WMFX.
Holy fuck my hands hurt trying to keep up
Whitechapel meets Gojira with a hint of Vildjarta
Ok I'm so lost so he is listed as in the band but does not play live with them bc I just saw them so is he just a studio writer and producer for them?
David Verkaik he is in the band he just doesn't tour.
Anyone have any idea how to play the open twangy chords at 0:27 and 3:33? I have this whole song tabbed out but I can't figure those 2 out no matter how many times I listen to them/watch this.
It seems like he has the shape of a g chord or gminor and let's the higher strings ring out. Idk. I'm trying to figure it out too. Good luck!
Antonio Petrole You guys figure it out? I'm in the same boat
Tai-Bere Yes! If you have a 7 string, tune the 1st 6 strings to D tuning and then drop the 7th to G. It's more simple than I thought. For the one around 0:33 he just plays the first 3 strings open. Hope that helps.
it seems like he did a pinch harmonic
Tyler Noice Absolute legend!
i want a tab for this ;__;
Xavier Pit Official check songsterr
Tuning? Drop G?
Return to Cinder Yup
Did this vocalist used to sing for another band? I swear i recognize his voice.
Ian Henderson you're probably thinking of thy art is murder. Which he didn't sing for but he does sound very similar to CJ
So there's three guitarists on this band now?
Businessman He has been in this band for awhile. He just never tours. I think he is too busy with his studio work.
The immeasurable savagery.
Seems like all of these bands are going GOJIRA!!
Jeremy Freeman like?
Heavy Metal Lance Silber
GVCJarrett LMAO I see it!
You know our society is backwards when people like Taylor Swift get nearly a billion views while she's playing 3 chords.
Just Kidding, she plays 5 chords if you count the bridges. #MakeAmericaHaveSweepPickingAgain
Stephen Hey Taylor is pretty good
Mainly because it is simplistic enough for people to not have to think about and just enjoy.
You know something is wrong with this society when people still write these cringy ass comments
Stephen there's a reason it's called 'accessible music', it's very easy to consume hence why it's so popular. The world isn't backwards you're just not paying attention to how things work.
If you care about metal, please don't insult other music because it is not metal. It just makes it worse for us.
Thank Satan
This looks like sped-up footage lol
wait...who is this? I don't listen to FFAA much, but have only ever seen Pat and the dude with the epicly long braided beard. Never this guy.
penny wise lolz
12 12 lol talk to people like that in real life, see where you end up..
I've seen pups play fetch with more intensity than this guy plays guitar. Good tone. Good playing. Soft energy imo. Kill whats soft
4 people are Minaj fans
This isn't raw audio.
Roflfuckyou woah, no way?!
Fucking dumbass
Or true bypass....
Roflfuckyou it's a 'play through' video, the audio from play through videos are almost always just the studio recording. The point is just to show the song being played, they don't want to fuck with the product.
Daniel Johnstone idiots who can't tell its the album audio... Smh..
The purpose of these videos is to show the people how to play it, if you want to hear it live, go to their shows ?! tf
I believe in Will Putney, not God
1.5 playback speed at 3:05 thank me later
