    Love how passionate he is about his gear and he also explains why he love's that gear instead of just showing it.

    Love that Pat's still using tube amps and a pretty simple rig. In addition to that, he's such a nice dude.

    A few weeks ago I got to listen to him sound check on their tour with Trivium and Arch Enemy. We got a bit of a back and forth going while he was just messing around with some cover riffs. He's honestly such a cool dude. Really glad I got that experience before hearing them open up the night.

    That is literally my pedal board, very simple. Haunted delay, bulb attack overdrive, ns-2 and poly tune lol.

    I'm so glad to know they didn't take the kemper path like everybody else and stayed with tube amps

    Remember when he used to jump randoms at shows throughout the central/south Jersey scene, doesn't really seem like all that long ago.

    I had the RG652AHM hardtail...beautiful guitar but I unfortunately had to send it back because the neck was warped and bowed...I dont know how it happened but it was to the point that you couldnt even play a note because it would choke out against the frets instantly. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed but I ended up getting an ESP Horizon NT2 instead...the ebony fretboard and mahogany body is more my style anyway and the extra $600 I had to spend was well worth it...the nicest playing and most well built guitar I have ever put my hands on...ESP Japan knows what they are doing.

    I tried the wenge Ibanez the other day and the fretwork on it sucked so bad it was cutting up my hands. Not happy with that particular one

    Hey Trey, I know your an Ibanez guy and I was thinking about getting that Green Nebula RG Prestige but in 6 string with a hardtail. I think it's the RG652ahmfx. There is no way I can try it before I order it, any thoughts or opinions on that guitar? I have never owned an Ibanez just Jackson and Schecter .

    • @300WINMAG360
      @300WINMAG360 8 років тому

      Ibanez Guy Thanks for the reply. My only complaint about Schecter is their thick necks. The other guitar I was considering is the Schecter KM6 which also has a thin neck but probably not quite as thin as the Ibanez. I have owned 2 Schecters and 3 Jacksons all between the $700-$1000 price range. I wanted to get something with excellent quality, fit, and finish. And I also wanted to branch out from those two brands. That is why I was considering Ibanez. I have two Guitar Centers and 3 or 4 other smaller shops within 30 min from me but none of them have a Prestige or KM6 in stock to try out.

      Pitdog360 I dont know if you have gotten one yet but I owned BOTH a RG652AHM hardtail and a KM6. The Prestige is a much better built guitar...it is built in Japan at the Ibanez custom shop rather than a factory in Korea that the KM6 is built at. That being said though the KM6 is an extremely nice guitar for the price, stainless steel frets, Duncan Black Winter pickups...very nice instrument but it was way too bright sounding for me, ice picky tone almost...too much treble and not enough lows and mids to it, but that was contributed to the ash body, Black Winters (ceramic pickups), and maple neck...just a bright sounding instrument in general. The Prestige was ALSO very bright sounding though but the Dimarzios tamed it a little bit to where it was bearable, but you can dial it in a little better than the Black Winters. The Prestige is just a BEAUTIFUL and very well crafted instrument...you can tell Ibanez takes their time with their Prestige guitars. If I was you and you hadn't gotten one yet I would take the Ibanez any day of the week...Japanese built guitars are where the quality is at. Im an ESP guy now, all ESP's (NOT LTD) are built at the ESP custom shop in Japan and they are totally superior to anything else that I have ever played...including any Prestige Ibanez. But.....ESP's are VERY pricey. You won't find any ESP Japan built guitar (E2, ESP custom shop, ESP Original) brand new for less than $1,600, and those are even their low end guitars...my Horizon NT2 cost me $1,800, but if you ever get the money I would definetly invest in a Japanese built ESP...nothing besides Jackson USA touches those guitars in my opinion.
