Hey, cameras and editing team: the beauty of Utah is easily a third of the reason we watch your vids. Don’t be afraid to point a camera at the landscape for an extra half-second once in a while. Maybe even a whole second, for a 360 mountaintop sunset. Those are beautiful moments. Let us share.
Thank you! I'm really glad you think so! It’s always rewarding to work in beautiful places, especially when it makes the recovery process even more enjoyable to watch. It adds a whole new layer to the challenge and the satisfaction of getting everything back to where it should be!
Gary to Matt: Hey we have a Dodge Ram hanging off mountain high up on TV Tower Road, accessed by Hell Hole Pass Road. Matt to Gary: Sounds like we need Katelyn. Let me check with her and I'll get back to you. Matt to Katelyn: Hey we have a hair raising mountain side recovery up on TV Tower road, are you available? Katelyn to Matt: Sure lets go....with the perpetual big smile on her face! Knowing how cameras tend to lessen the actual steepness of terrain, and knowing what its like being in such places, Great respect how the whole team including Jamie in the Morvair, handled this high pucker-factor recovery without any made-up drama. Great filming and editing as usual. Thank You! Peace!
Kaetlyn is a stone cold beast. She has 100% trust in Matt. You guys always bring a smile. Love your stuff. Great content and all the happy faces. Good camera/edit work. Thank you.
@@xippzapwhere would you connect the center seat belt to? Yea it would reach over her but there isnt anywhere to connect it to bc usually the center belt comes from besides the driver seat belt connection point & goes over towards the passenger side & then connects next to the passenger side seat belt connection point.
Those roads to mountain top radio sites brings back memories of my youth. My dad would servce many of those types of sites through the Utah, Az, Nevada, Colorado area back in the old vacuum tube days when they needed worked on fairly often. On occasion he would let me go with him which was a great adventure be it traveling in the truck or the snowcat. It still amazes me how much was done back then with lots less capable vehicles than what we have today.
Reminds me of when I was a child too. In Oregon on weekends my family would drive on old logging roads to the top of mountains. There’s usually a fire watch tower on the highest peaks. We’d have picnic then drive home. When family from Texas would visit we’d take them up there. They were very scared of going off the edge’s because it was a long way to the bottom and very steep.
As a propane delivery driver, I visit these kind of locations occasionally, especially after storms and power outages, that's when they actually use propane up at the tower for generators. I have one location, the trail to the top is 2.8 miles, I can't drive my bobtail faster than 1 MPH, or everything in my cab will be all over the place, it's covered with rocks and cliffs for the road surface. So almost 3 hours just for that trail uphill. So, imagine having to go up and see a 33k GVWR propane truck on those trails, with 3400 gallon tank on the back.
I recently came across a statistic on official driving tests in Germany: >99.9% were carried out in manual cars until a few years ago. One big reason for this was that if you had taken the test in an automatic car, your driving license would only be valid for automatic cars.
Another dangerous recovery on top of Mount Crumbly and the Moorvair, Jaymie, KateLynn and Dillon recovered the Ram from the edge of cliff! Good video and awesome scenery and sunset!
seat belt locked? .... break out a Matt's Strap! Great job! It never ceases to amaze me how y'all jump in and tackle a precarious recovery like this and make it seem as easy as helping someone who has jumped the curb at Walmart!
Oh my gosh! This was the most stressful and scenic recovery I have watched you folks do!! You literally were on a mountain ridge. To the left or right side was down!! Yikes. Amazing recovery and even more epic views. Stay safe and thanks for all the adventures.
It is so incredibly heart-warming the content you produce. Never really giving crap to people who blunder, and so many friendly and funny souls. Cheers!!!
I didn't think anyone could fill Lizzy's shoes...or boots🤔 But now I feel the same about Katelynn. She's used to the camera now and showing her sweet personality and awesome skills. A very talented and respectful young Lady.
I have a confession to make and an apology to her. I didn't like her irritating giggle-laugh. It had become less and and less irritating as she became used to the camera. She a badass driver and had some other awe-inspiring skills on the job.
Matt, you’re truly an inspiring leader! Watching you and your crew in action is always a pleasure. You have such a keen awareness of everything going on and a deep understanding of each team member’s unique strengths. The way you mentor and empower others by letting them take the reins is incredible-it’s a real testament to your teaching style. I wish you all the success, not just in your business and on this channel, but also as a future speaker sharing your insights on leadership. Can’t wait to see more from you and the team!
That's the job that honestly I would LOVE to do, but unfortunately in my place in EU not that many people do offroad. Every job you do is just like an another adventure. I'm kinda jaleous 😂
Been a while since I've been up there, myself. It's always an experience getting to the top and such a commanding view from up there. Tried it one time on my dual sport and wasn't even able to get up one of the steepest sections because I didn't have enough traction. It's definitely not for the faint of heart! It's most definitely a 4WD road and only for something with ample torque or a great low gear.
Getting near the top when driving up made me nervous from my couch! Wow, what a recovery! The view up there was probably worth it thought. Thanks for the video.
Wow the mixer drivers that delivered all that concrete up there had to be the best and most experienced, and same with the propane delivery drivers, the construction workers that built that place up there driving up and down every day I give them props, have a nice day
Amazing job guys !!......again Caitlin impressed the crap out of me driving that stick.....Jamie also.....nerves of steel (trying to figure out Matt's hand signals.....😅
Katelynn, at 10:34 "This is a manual transmission . . ." Me : so, normal. While a torque converter is sometimes the best thing for the job, there are also occasions when the finesse of a manual clutch is all you need.
They didn’t put that much load on the pillars. It’s not like the pillars just sit on the surface, they are very secure to support the towers in extreme winds. Do you not remember that they will anchor on trees and bushes and those work fine?
Those pillars go several feet and we're talking probably 20 to 30 or more into the ground and they're filled with concrete. Whoever runs the TV service for that area will not raise holy terror over that.
Maybe time for a Matt's strap recovery seatbelt? Something that can attach somehow to the seat or frame to give some kind of protection in the case the seatbelt isn't working?
Being married and a dad now with a little girl (3). THIS video made me very proud for you. That feeling you get watching your kid and work work to help you succeed 🤙🏼🙏🏼
Those mountain top communications sites can provide amazing views, But most are definitely not for the in experienced driver or under equipped vehicle. Great work MORR
Wow! On top of a steep Mountain off-camber, brakes clutch and throttle, Katelynn did great! Someone should make a picture for her from that scene at 9 minutes 30 seconds, total Pro
Wow! What a fun place to dangle off a mountain! Katelynn is a champ. Cracks me up to know when you filmed something on a Wednesday. I think the whole crew needs pink bibs or coveralls for Wednesdays!
Thank you for "taking" me along to the TV TOWER point. I have viewed the area from the SLC area and Wondered what that view is! I'm so glad you and your crew are Nearly FEARLESS!
Matt, I’m shocked that this was your first trip to the top of Utah Hill. My Varsity Scout coach was a Ham Radio guy and we did peek to peek signaling activities up there on Utah Hill. It is a gorgeous view from the top. Right at the border of three states and right at the border of three major land formations (Great Basin, Mohave Desert, Colorado Plateau).
Seatbelt locks are "actuated" by Gravity and Gforce. A key shaped pendulum in a shallow bowl shaped channel allows the belt to free spin, often only a couple mm Clarence in 2, 4 or 6 directions and will lock the belt at under 20% of deflection from most points on the vehicle. this became popular as vehicles got larger and roll overs were more prominent. ***** The More You Know *****
Always impressed by Caitlyn's skill set and cool demeanor. I know a lot of guys (including me) who would be freaking out sitting in that truck on the edge of oblivion!
Best comment " You better not be checking your text right here!". A mountain top experience for sure! Steep drop offs, loose gravel, extraordinary view! What more could you ask for?

Out of all the recoveries you have done in my opinion this is the most prettiest place you had to do a recovery
Kaetlyn always takes the time to admire the scenery and can drive a stick. Sweet!
@@apexaeroNo additional risk is involved.

My 88yo mum can do that.

@johnhopkins4920 Kaitlyn Kaetlyn Katelynn Katelyn Kaitlin Caitlin and I'm sure I'm missing a couple more spellings 😂
Seemingly Matt has perfect pitch
He was in tune singing acapella with Sadé out of thin air with zero reference
Yep, I picked up on that too. Good catch.
You don't need to have perfect pitch to do that. I don't have perfect pitch and I can usually match the pitch of a song from memory.
Nice nail bitting recovery. All did a good job
Probably one of the craziest recoveries I've seen you guys do. Amazing work y'all

That Ram tried to be a mountain goat.
Yeah, they go places that ford and chevrolet are afraid to go.
@BFTEgodswarrio5939 yeah, over a cliff lol
What a beautiful spot and evening for a recovery.
Holy crap! That's nutso. Matt's rescue (& the whole team) is amazing!

The dogs are the best part!
I love it when Matt sings out random song lyrics. Lol
Thanks for another great learning video. WOW! "Gravity! Respect it, nice recovery" and everyone got home safe. An A+, Carry On.
LOVE videos about dialogue references, make everything better, like salt in food, very good guys!
