I’ve never heard of Mangamahu before now even though I’ve been through that area a few times.
Thank you. Looking forward to seeing more.
Great video mate. Pretty freaky once you learn about these murders. Not fazed about your pronunciation either I still understood what you were saying lol. Keep up the awesome mahi👍
Thanks bro!
Hi Ryan, I’ve been an avid listener of your “Guilt” podcasts for a couple of years now, so it’s nice to put ‘a face to the voice’
It's really intriguing to see murder cases from my country. Good job on this video.
Then there was the 1917 Bennier murder which took place at Ngaturi in the Mangamahu valley. Frank Bennier murdered his wife and took a knife to his sister-in-law. there is a book about it called "No Epitaph" by Felicity Campbell.
Sounds intriguing, I’ll look into it thanks Liz!
@@RyanWolfNZ Just a microcosm of rural life in the valley.

There was a bizarre murder of two elderly sisters who belonged to the Salvation Army in Wairoa, Hawkes Bay in 1942.On 21 August the elderly sisters Rosamund and Annie Smyth were found beaten to death in their Wairoa home; the crime had occurred about 13 days earlier. It was established that the murder weapons were an axe and a poker. There were a number of possible suspects but no one was ever convicted.
In 1962 a dying Leo Silvester Hannan confessed to killing the Smyth sisters, and also an old man named Herbert Brunton at Wairoa in December 1948; Brunton had also been killed with an axe.

Is the crime rate high in New Zealand?
Victim Support- sean O'Dwyer- 136- 140 Hobson Street.- Auckland 1010.- new zealand.
In certain citys and suburbs yes the crime rate is pre high, Hamilton has the highest crime rate majority of them being committed by youth if im no mistake.
well thats ONE way to get a-head i spose
I lowkey wish we had a famous serial killer or like the most mysterious murders unsolved. I just LOVE things like this.

Apologies! I only realised my pronunciation was incorrect once I’d shot 90%. Lesson learned for next time 👌
Be careful what you ask for
Touché
Good story. Just a small pronunciation tip, the first A in Mangamahu is pronounced the same as the way you're saying the last two.

Came up randomly on my timeline, I'd been watching comedians but OMGoodness. I was laughing so much and thought your deadpan delivery brilliant. Bloody hell it's not comedy, is it ?
I just didn't believe the story was anything but a funny yarn.
PS the laughing audio didn't help.
