Of all the things i'd forget to add when i did this, it was how to actually attach attachments 🤦♂ Either by drag/drop from the inventory screen (i key) or by holding F > looking at your weapon > inspect > select the attachment point > select the attachment from the list
Bro. THIS is the video I've been looking for. I'm still new to the "verse" if you will, but sometimes I just don't know what in looking at or for out there. You earned a sub.
Fieldlites blind the absolute piss out of an opponent, I used it often during indoors in JumpTown, leaving people confused most the time what the bright, blinding light was before dying.
interesting. Never experienced that myself personally hence it never even registered in my mind. Especially as the overall brightness (from the weilders POV) is not exactly sunligh!
ive picked up a fancy alien looking helmet with no torch from a cave loot box or bunker box forget which and think i have a L cheapo helmet i bought for laughs at grim hex or another station that also doesnt have a torch if i remember correctly, but also cant be worn in space as it doesnt actually fully cover your face, learned this the hard way....
Going to do a follow up with those as had quite a few comments suggesting it, and because it would be quite a long video in itself anyway (I try to keep them to 5 mins or less) 🙂 Basically looking at making it a sequence of videos, so this video is "the bare minimum of what you need to know", "this goes in depth into the minutiae if each scope/barrel/etc"
I think that was added to the game by accident, as it doesn't even have a name! I do have the model etc for it, but i decided to exclude it, as with it having no name, i expect CIG will remove it. But its spec is identical to the Tau Plus and OT4 :) Side note, theres an S3 X8 behring scope too, but same logic was applied (thats the same as the OT8)
@@RobotSpartan What do u mean it doesn't have a name? It shows up with a name in inventory. it's loot only and its been in the game since before I started playing in 3.13
@@CymBan By no name i mean its not given a proper name like "Gamma" or "Tau", just a description. Unless there's another one i'm not privvy too somehow, and we're talking about different things?
i hate it how silencers/suppressors are generally un-realistic in games, in real life they generally improve bullet performance eg = more damage /accuracy /range or at the very least not degrade weapon performance if correctly used, other then being less effective at sound suppression when the can gets hot, but again suppressors dont actually make guns silent nor do they drop the audio like in movies, rather they basically make it viable to shoot the gun without ear protection, while its still going to be loud (just not enough to destroy ur ears drums) unless your using sub-sonic ammo, which being sub-sonic looses the crack from breaking the sound barrier, which a suppressor cant do diddly squat about, so pair sub-sonic with a suppressor = now it sounds a bit more like the movies, but sub-sonic has significantly less power vs the same bullet that is supersonic, hence why in a military or combat / hunting setting ur not using sub-sonic unless you got very special reasons or per say the ammo type is very heavy, so it doesnt really need to be supersonic to be effective, eg think shotgun slugs and were a supersonic shotgun slug due to its weight, will make ur shoulder hate u if u start pumping them down range like regular slugs. etc etc anyways food for thought for any not familiar.
Aye i've always had the same sensibilities. I think the video game logic of "quiet but less damage" comes from the idea of switching to subsonic ammo in tandem with a suppressor and thus giving less energy per round. Beyond that it makes little sense, especially as a longer barrel means more time accelerating, so a suppressor should actually increase velocity and therefor kinetic energy! The way sniper elite does it i think is perfect. Silencers dont do much on their own, but if you actively switch to sub sonic ammo then they become pretty quiet
@@RobotSpartan The reason suppressors don't add to the barrel length is that the bore of the suppressor is not the same size as the barrel bore, nor is it rifled. This lets a slightly larger amount of gas out of the suppressor bore around the bullet. not to mention, those gasses that should be pushing the bullet are mostly being redirected into the suppressor and come out of a different opening than the bore. So there is slightly less power behind a bullet fired from a suppressed rifle. And to correct the other guy, suppressors are most definitely for suppressing sound. As said, using subsonic ammo maximizes the effect, even to the point of being so quiet in the MP5SD that all you can hear is the bolt sliding back and forth.
The field lights are actually brighter than the helmet lights, making them invaluable in very dark places like caves. Also, you cannot purchase the S71 in-game at this time, and there are no 3x and above optics available for purchase either. I was hoping you would show the view through the glass and tell which ones had features such as the rangefinder. Currently, I like the Tau Plus the best as it has the widest view and (IIRC) a rangefinder. Second best, IMO, is the OT4-RF found on the S71 rifle. Its view is a little taller than wider, so might be more useful in an outdoor application. It is, however, tinted, which makes it difficult under certain circumstances to identify friend or foe in bunkers. It's a good basic review though. Thanks!
A review including the view down sight would be very much appreciated, I personally find the OT4-RF to give a good amount of information however in low light conditions the reticle and text can give off a lot of glare making it hard to use. Also the Field light not only being brighter for caves also causes a glare type affect against the enemy obscuring a good portion of the users torso, arms & head similar to the battlefield flashlights. Overall a good basic review, would've liked to see demonstrations like in game bullet spread / recoil reduction, a noise test 60 & 30m away aswell as a visual show of the muzzle flash for the barrel mods. A visual look at the laser sight & flash light from user & enemy. and A visual look at each scope both in daylight & night time. a bit more work but would make for a proper comprehensive and valuable guide to the attachments.
True on the field lights, although i've never found the helmet lights insufficient personally. Might just be my graphics settings? Also, could have sworn i bought the S71 recently... might have been last patch and i forgot. My bad! And correct on the 3x plus (thats why i added 1x/2x only on the gamma) I didn't think about showing through the sights actually, somewhat of an oversight (heh) on my part there! Although would have been a nightmare to find all of them in order to do so. I will look to do so in the future though for sure!
@Quantum Monkey aye view down sight is certainly something ill look to do. It would make this video bloody long, so it would probably best as its own video anyway all things considered. Just a case of finding the blighters.... On the demonstrations, the recoil is something i could do, but unfortunately the others are somewhat of a pain for me to do as it can't be done solo. The guys i play with all work shifts, and we typically only play when they align, which is about 2 days per fortnight. That said, that should hopefully change in the near future which should afford me the ability to do more demonstration style things. All said though, great constructive criticism from both of you. I'll take it all on board to help improve any future content (all part of growing eh!) Edit: i've altered the title slightly to represent that this is a basic overview. A video for newbies if you will :)
@@RobotSpartan uh I remember buying Taus.. but that must have been before the 3.17 changes. And before the incoming patch i stocked up on all the heavy weapons. My collection of 8x and 16x sights come from the old loot boxes that used to spawn at outposts. My landing zone inventory is filled with junk and not helped by the recent duplication bug (running 170%), though I expect a persistent wipe with patch 3.18
@@shawnc5188 ah that might be why i have several S71, i probably stocked up on them before hand! I tend to play in spurts due to work, so i guess im losing track I'd be extremely shocked to not see a persistence wipe in 3.18. Hopefully PES fixes all these silly duplication issues

One of my favorite scopes is the Tau 4x, makes for a great addition for using the P6-LR at closer ranges
I actually ended up using the A03 for that. Not as much stopping power, but fires quicker and bigger mag

Also I find the RF reflex sights you can loot generally superior to the gamma series
Aye thats the red dot. I use it on the shotguns for the same reason, but as only the gamma has 2x thats all i can use for that purpose
I'm thinking a silencer and laser-sight on an SMG
That's what I run, usually C54 🙂
What about the white Behr Telescopic S2 X4 loot-only scope that comes on the NPC P4-AR's along with a compensator in most bunker missions?
