- Hamar, NORWAY - 1994 Winter Olympics, Figure Skating, Fluff Pieces No. 19 -1) A look the favorites during the Ladies' Technical Program Practice; 2) an interview with Nancy Kerrigan just before the Winter Olympic Games began.

Tonya hit some fine triple axels during practice sessions during the 94 Olympic Games. There are some that were recorded for news pieces. She even practised some triple-triple combinations in Lillehammer.
Nancy was absolutely right about the point she made at the very end. The media has been ridiculously standing around (no, chasing them down!🙄), totally & completely fixated on the Kerrigan/Harding “incident.” Nancy was right - the media was potentially missing out on some other really good stuff by overly fixating on just THAT.
Wow the speed she nearly flew into that wall. They glide so effortlessly on the ice and it's so bright and white you don't realize how fast they're going!
Nancy was professional and focused, and likely rightfully ignored Tonya.
She grew up with brothers...to survive ...toughness is of the elemental essence.
Why blame her after what she was beeing through at that time. Those wedding night pictures destroyed her definetely.
It’s crazy how big of a deal it was back then for a woman to do the triple axle. Nowadays, it’s basically a required element.
Nop
@@bethmissbenett what’s “nop” mean?
She looks a little gaunt here in the interview... Please USFSA give her a sandwich!!!💔
There's no 'rule' saying she couldn't wear her practice outfit in competition. It would just make her appear under-dressed though imo...
Two things -- first, Tonya's self-defeatist attitude was just *oozing* in her body language, especially when at the boards with her coaches. And second, Nancy looked way more stylish in her practice dress than she did in her competition outfit. I wish it could've been possible for her to wear the practice dress in the actual short program competition.
e2theeyepie the ugly blue rag she's wearing?! lol
No u can’t wear practice rags at competition
1) People can see the practise before the competition? 2) Do they practise toguether? I thought they didn´t see each other. Is it good that the others see your routine? 3) Why Nancy had the music during her practise and the others didn´t?
The practices are aired before the actual competition, skaters train in groups, and depending on a blind draw, depends on who you practice with... Skaters of the same home nation, like Harding and Kerrigan often practice together, the others are probably too focused on their own routines to worry about what's going on around them, and all skaters are allocated a time slot to practice their routines in full, Harding practiced to the music she skated to for her short program, as did Kerrigan
Thank you very much Ewan Oxborrow!
xue 717 I’m not entirely sure if I’m honest
