Then, use the teflon pads for a force break mod (stick some of it nera each of the screw holes to reduce metal to metal contact) and reduce the pingyness of the board.
Akko feels extremely underrated to me! Big fan of their switches and barebones products and I'll always recommend it to anyone who wants to build, begin building, request a commission for not to expensive, and more. :)
I'd say it's pretty overrated at this point. It's the only "big brand" mentioned whenever someone says that they're going for a budget build. A lot of people tend to also gloss over the fact that the PCB is very problematic. People only seem to talk about the good things about Akko, but they never mention the QC issues.

I did a "budget" build for my fiancee for Christmas with a white M1 with the goal of getting a thocky sound. After force-breaking the M1, I think the sound of the case is actually pretty good for a cheap alu board. I didn't realize that the included extra stab pads were meant to be used as force break material, so I did the traditional 2x double sided/rolled painter's tape and it worked well.
Wait those were for the force break mod oh shi-. Lmao, I didn't even know, but ye force break mod with painter tape works as well. I hear little to no ping after finishing.
I've been keeping an eye out for this type of layout (specifically the five extra keys on the right hand side (and a knob), with spacers between the arrow keys and the main keys). There aren't many of this type, so it's nice to see it featured.
@@zully_xo This is a 75% as it includes function keys, arrow keys, and navigation keys. A 65% only has arrow keys as its extra function from the base 60% format.
Props to Akko for actually agreeing to that mad sponsor slot. Most companies would shut that down and run in seconds. Show's they're confident in their products and it seems that's well deserved. Great looks.
I got an Akko ISO Layout 3068B Plus on Black Friday and it's such a good value. Finding a good prebuilt with ISO layout under €100 is not easy. Also, the ISO version of the keyboard uses a more traditional cherry mx profile instead of their typical ASA and the font looks a little bit cleaner too. I got the Black and Gold version with Jelly Purple Tactiles but I also ordered some Akko Silvers(1mm travel linears) which I put on the keys I use in games. Great bang for the buck overall.
How do you find ISO layout keyboards? It's the main pain point for me. It's not easy to filter and sometimes I have to enter store entries one by one to see if they have an ISO variant. I've tried to get used to ANSI but I just can't. I want ISO.
@@DiThi This is unfortunately the biggest problem for us ISO users to find keyboards that are good and then keycaps is even worse. That's why I bought an AKKO 3068B Plus ISO-DE for 83 on sale, it's my first mechanical keyboard and I had to choose between AKKO, Keychron and royal kludge. AKKO fit best of all options for me.
@@eLduh Where did you get it? Amazon? I got the Drevo Calibur V2 Pro (A.K.A. Royal Kludge RK71) because I was looking for a bluetooth keyboard with regular sized keys. The AKKO one costs 3 times as much. At least the ISO one: the other ones are all ANSI. This is in Spain btw. Of course the RK71 doesn't have hotswap, sadly (although it's not something I was looking for when I bought it, the fact that it was mechanical was just a bonus at the time). I changed the keycaps for some low profile ones that look, sound and feel much better... but it's English layout. I have to hit the jackpot to have *both* Spanish layout and ISO. If it's other than OEM profile, that's even more rare.
@@DiThi Yes I bought the keyboard at Amazon normally it costs 105€ but was end of december down to 83€ so I bought it without thinking. That's crazy but unfortunately we iso users are only a small group so it is not economical for many companies to produce for iso.
The M series was my first DIY kit I've ever built and I absolutely loved the boards I made (I built the M2 for a friend and they loved it as well along with the M1 for myself). I'd say this is a great entry level/budget friendly kit for people wanting to get into the hobby! Yup I have the cs jelly pinks on a akko prebuilt and I noticed that when I first got it, don't get me wrong the keyboard is nice and switches are great but some of the switches are a little inconsistent with lubing. It seems like it's gotten worse in some keys for the past month or two I've had the keybord
One odd thing about Akko is they're changing switches all the time. Dozens of kinds of switches, and it seems like they're announcing new ones every month or two. I've never got two consecutive Akko keyboards with the same switches because the options are always changing.
Akko and Tecsee seem like a merry go round of switches. I love the Tecsee switches I have but could not tell you the specific difference between all of their colorways on different sites
Yeah I was looking at their website recently and was amazed by how many switches are sold out. They still sell ocean blue and lavender though so I guess those have been popular enough to keep around?
I disagree with your opinion on stabilizers, I'm curious as to why TX stabilizers weren't considered instead. Tx stabilizers have always come out perfect for me while all of the durock v2 stabilizers I tried had either persistent ticking issues or needing relubing at a later date. I think the akko stabilzers would be good if you went with a light coat of lube for the housings. I haven't tried them myself but I've heard they're really good. Tx stabilizers can also get a bit sluggish if you apply a little too much lube, they only need a light coating (compared to durock v2 polycarbonate housings) to help with the housing rattle.
i’ve never bought from akko before, but now i want to try them! i’m very much a budget board person so it’s great to see some more affordable stuff floating around.
I loooooove akko switches. Last few sets of switches have been akko. Their V3 lineup is pre lubed very well and they all feel excellent with no scratchyness.
The Brother M1W (M1 with wireless) keyboard, renowned for its affordability, has sparked a significant trend in Vietnam. Its recent addition of wireless functionality, coupled with the option to purchase it below $50 when availing the Fomo promotion in China, has propelled it to the forefront of the market, establishing its dominance over other keyboards in its price range
I just got an IQUNIX OG80 Dark Side RS with Frozen Silents and, my god am I in love with a keyboard again?!? These switches are phenomenal, and shot to the top of my list tied with genuine Topre. They're so quiet, but still have a crisp pop and buttery thock at the bottom... Just absolutely stupidly nice to type on. And I absolutely love the entire board too, not just the switches. The frosted transparent keycaps let the LEDs shine through without issue. The board layout and angle feel great and completely wiped away my concerns of spending so much on a board without feet. It's seriously as nice to LOOK AT as it is to type on.
My favorite switch is heimu heartbeats. They are the best silent linear switch with unique internal design that keeps them silent. They feel so much more as a regular switch and are quiet. Love them.
I lubed and moded my first keyboard, its akko neon and it sounds amazing. Never thought lubing switches would make such a difference in feal and sound.
I just built my first custom keyboard with an Akko Mod006 barebones kit. It turned out way better than I expected, I just needed to put more lube on the stabilizers. It came with pre lubed plate mounted stabilizers but they were also running a deal that gave out free screw in stabilizers that I ended up using instead. Honestly only the spacebar needs to be lubed more IMO
Nola is so cute. Akko has introduced to brazilian market keyboards with layout ABNT2 (5075S Clear Black ABNT2 and 5075S Steam Engine ABNT2) and has been sold out in almost of the popular stores at the moment.
I got the monets pond 3098 from Akko just a couple weeks ago and that was actually my first ever legit mechanical keyboard. After using it constantly for these past couple weeks I can say it’s a very nice keyboard for the price.
I just got the 5057S from Akko for 30$ and I think when it comes to budget boards they seem really good for what it costs. And the VIA support is really great, even on the cheaper boards from them. It's built similarily to the Monsgeek but plastic instead of aluminum. Definitely a better recommendation if you're just starting out like I did.
my pool of experience in mechanical keyboards is relatively shallow, but thus far my favorite switches are the akko lavenders. they're just such a pleasant tactile switch, and for so cheap too...
An irony on the favorite switch side... I'm an avid Kaihl Box Jade fan, but a while ago I did an experiment: I spring swapped a set of Akko Jelly Blue switches with 58gf two stage good plated springs... And now those are good with the Kaihl switches for being my favorites.
I bought the Akko 5075b plus white on black for $99 usd. Pre lubed decent stabilisers, case foam, rgb, Akko double shot Keycaps and a knob. The cream blue tactile switches that came with it are very smooth and I am super happy with the board
Just got a 3098S based in part on this video and many of your others, and I am very happy with it! I got the World Tour London edition to match my new green/gold Zelda setup, and it looks and sounds so good!

Good job Hipyo, very good. Good job putting that back on. 😂
Got the Akko 3084b black and gold with pink switches, really enjoying it😊
I would love to see a face off between clicky and linear/tactile switches (like so hippyo can see this)
"Good job Hipyo, very good. Good job putting that back on"
Thank you for this video! Basically exactly what I’m looking for. Layout %, ANSI, RGB, has a knob! Not super expensive.
Im very excited, thank you HIPYO
THE FIRST review of this keyboard!!
Im so glad you post it
my favs is gazzew u4 or bobagum if linear
nola typing in chat was my fav moment for sure (also pretty deskmat 👀)

Nola is so curious, I love her.
I loooooove akko switches. Last few sets of switches have been akko. Their V3 lineup is pre lubed very well and they all feel excellent with no scratchyness.
Good job Hipyo, Very good..... Good job putting it back on :) And thank you for all your videos!
Recently bought the Akko Alice, and I'm really impressed by the quality considering the price of it!
Feker matcha is my favorite switch so far.
And great job putting that back on, Hipyo!
Good job Hipyo, very good. God job putting that back on !
It's seriously as nice to LOOK AT as it is to type on.
i have really been appreciating your videos :) thanks and keep them up
My favorite switch is the gateron tangerine!
the way that this sounds with rose reds is just insane for the price. Fixing the ping should not be a problem, then the board will sound so good.
Good job Hipyo, very good. Good job putting that back on
Bro I literally got my first akko keyboard this week and I'm loving it
Good job putting that cover back on. Also, have those same keycaps. Absolutely love them. They look so good.
Bro thanks, without you I would never have may my first bored ❤
Good job Hipyo! Good job putting that back on.
Awesome! I've been thinking about getting an akko keyboard lately!
Good job Hipyo, very good!! ☺️ Good job putting that back on!
Good job Hipyo very good, good job putting that back on.
Good job putting that back on, Hipyo.
Damn, that actually sounds really nice! Favorite switch is gateron oil kings.
Good job Hipyo, good job putting that back on.
I have an Akko Pro 75, love it!
i just bought my akko 3068b plus keybaord, its my second keyboard and its amazing, i cant wait to get supplies to mod it
“Good job Hipyo, very good. Good job putting that back on”
My favorite switch is heimu heartbeats. They are the best silent linear switch with unique internal design that keeps them silent. They feel so much more as a regular switch and are quiet. Love them.
I lubed and moded my first keyboard, its akko neon and it sounds amazing. Never thought lubing switches would make such a difference in feal and sound.
Good job Hipyo, very good. Goob job putting that back on
good job hipyo . good job putting that back on there
I’m watching your video for first time and I love the quality of the video and the cat 😂❤️ I’m your subscriber now, have a good day 👏🏽👋🏽
I just built my first custom keyboard with an Akko Mod006 barebones kit. It turned out way better than I expected, I just needed to put more lube on the stabilizers. It came with pre lubed plate mounted stabilizers but they were also running a deal that gave out free screw in stabilizers that I ended up using instead. Honestly only the spacebar needs to be lubed more IMO
Good job Hipyo good job Hipyo to put it back on.
Just wanted to tell you, that you did a good job putting it back on.
Nola is so cute. Akko has introduced to brazilian market keyboards with layout ABNT2 (5075S Clear Black ABNT2 and 5075S Steam Engine ABNT2) and has been sold out in almost of the popular stores at the moment.
Came for thock, stayed for cat.
I just got an akko at CES. Love it so far!
Good job Hipyo! good job putting it back on. Will not eat the screws, thanks a ton
This is making me want to buy those ceramic keycaps so bad... I think that'd really give me the solid sound and feel I'm CRAVING...
I got the monets pond 3098 from Akko just a couple weeks ago and that was actually my first ever legit mechanical keyboard. After using it constantly for these past couple weeks I can say it’s a very nice keyboard for the price.
The Monet's Pond theme has nice colors.
Good job Hipyo very good good job putting that back on
Box jades are still my favorite switch, I won't be swayed by your thocks Hipyo.
I just got the 5057S from Akko for 30$ and I think when it comes to budget boards they seem really good for what it costs. And the VIA support is really great, even on the cheaper boards from them. It's built similarily to the Monsgeek but plastic instead of aluminum. Definitely a better recommendation if you're just starting out like I did.
your cat is so precious
Yep. Got the M1 since a month or two. It's a great board out of the box
my pool of experience in mechanical keyboards is relatively shallow, but thus far my favorite switches are the akko lavenders. they're just such a pleasant tactile switch, and for so cheap too...
Akko Pink Jelly switches are da bomb! Love the end result keyboard, those keycaps vv nice.
Got Akko B5075B for 60 dollars with Akko V3 Cream Blue switches and Akko Dracula Castle keycaps on black friday. Can't wait to try it out.
Good job Hipyo putting that USB-C back together!
I liked for the review. I subscribed for Nola.
i like the akko v3 cream yellows because of its price and how good it sounds even when it isnt lubed.
