I have to use my keyboard mouse to click on any tile but sometimes it drops they mouse cursor. It happens on every screen where it goes/selects/highlights each tile in fast succession. Makes it impossible to use." They responded: "Do you by chance have a controller connected? This is the sort of thing typically caused by an analog stick dead zone problem." I responded w/the link to your video to show what I'm using and they responded: "Yep. Definitely helpful! So, in the video at around 4:40 is where you set up Left Stick X Axis. The problem is probably that, as the menus can be navigated with the left stick. A simple test to confirm would be to unmap Left Stick X and see if that resolves the issue. To actually fix the issue, you should be able to use the Calibrate UI in Steam Controller (click the Calibrate button after selecting your "xbox" controller as in around 2:25 in the video. There you can see what the axis value is from the accelerometer and set the dead zone appropriately." But I"m lost on what to do. I hope you can help.
@@FactorofGames I'm using the one you set up in this video. I did not calibrate it and it just worked. After the video went up, some other viewers asked about that and I did go in and calibrate the control deck in windows, but really didn’t see much of a difference. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Thanks Bob! I’ve found that if you turn up the Sound FX in Pinball FX3 then you can get a reasonable amount of haptic feedback from the Exciters in the ALP. They will not be as strong as they are on the native tables, but you will get reasonable results. The real solution is adding solenoids to the table, but you’ll spend no less than $100 doing that. I’m working on another video to showcase upgrading the stock Exciters with an Amp and it’s about $50. Should be out shortly.
Can anyone confirm that these settings still work to get the accelerometer working for FX3, as of 9/22 and firmware 5.64.0? I followed the video and confirmed the settings 3 times, and adjusted the sensitivity all the way up. Accelerometer does not work at all, and the joystick on the Arcade Controller jumps around on its own when navigating through menus.

Question: when I press "menu" and it brings up my Stream menu it's sideways?! Why is it sideways? It appears you're like me: my PC is plugged into the ALP and no other monitor so I have to change to landscape on my windows display settings but now my Steam menu is sideways when I press menu on the ALP. Any help?
The way I have my ALP OTG PC configured is the the main play field is set to Portrait instead of Landscape under the windows settings. I don’t mess with rotating the playfield 90 degrees, and most pinball games understand to manage that on their own. At least the major ones like Pinball FX3 and Pinball Arcade figure it out.
I have mine configured with 3 screens. 1 the ALP back glass, the 2nd (which I installed and have another video coming up) is for the DMD, and the 3rd is the ALP Playfield. In windows display settings, you should see the ALP playfield and set it to Portrait with the resolution set to 1080x1920.
@@FactorofGames Ok. That's how I have it but my Steam menu is sideways so I dont know how yours isn't. I really appreciated this video to allow the accelerometer! My next goal (I don't have the VIB nor plan on getting it) is to connect my Fire Tablet to use as a DMD.
I downloaded your configuration file and applied it. It shows it being applied when I start fx3, yet the accelerometer doesn't work, the plunger doesn't work and the nudge buttons are flippers. Go figure
@@FactorofGames yes I had. I ended up uninstalling steam completely and reinstalling just to get things back to the way they were. So starting from fresh, do I need to do the key bindings in the main steam platform, and then configure them again within fx3? Also, I'm curious, are you using Joy to key on the machine running fx3? Also, thanks for taking the time to reply.
Happy to help. Yes, do the key bindings first then grab the controller configuration profile. Then you may want to check the settings in the actual game and make sure the flippers line up with the controller configuration profile. The accelerometer can be a pain to dial in. The plunger should just work as the Right Analog stick after you map it.
Hi not sure if this config still works my flippers are switched for the white buttons and the accelerometer doesn't work when I downloaded your config. I even tried to upload my own config but it won't save per game and I can't find my own config in community after upload?
As far as I know the actual control deck that comes with the ALP is recognized as a Xinput device, like a Xbox controller. You should just be able to select the gamepad template on Steam.
I finally got it all set up,, the only issue I have now is the Gyro is a little too sensitive , If I slapped the flippers a little too hard or just the action of letting go the plunger shakes the table. I created a dead zone in FX3 controller setup and it helped some but it still there. any other solution like maybe the curve for the controller or something else??
I adjusted the sensitivity which is on the same settings page as the deadzone. The only problem is around 50% kills the nudge. I toyed about with it between 50 and 60%, but it takes some time and every once and awhile it will still fire off the nudge when using the plunger.
Using your config - why doesn't the Y button work in FX3? It shows to press "Y' for more info and pressing it does nothing. not sure why since it appears mapped correctly
Did you use the profile I uploaded to Steam for Pinball FX3? If so, I don’t believe I mapped it to the Normal Y button. It’s actually mapped to one of the nudge buttons. Based on your question, I went in and updated the profile. If you go back to the community section and redownload the same profile it should have both the nudge and the Y button mapped as Y.
@@FactorofGames thought I was losing my mind! Thank you! I will go do that. I got it working in portrait. Turns out the Cabinet Settings wagner has at his site&video aren't needed. I changed the Cabinet setting back to zero degrees and though i'm still having issues getting FX3 to load, when I do it's correct and when I go to Steam it's not sideways.
In the accellerometer settings on the controller - I have noticed that pressing the right flipper bumps the table @80% of the time. which setting do I need to adjust to lower that from happening (which one specifically)? Thank you very much again..ps - I got DMD working on my Fire Tablet (I don't have a VIB).
Yes, you will need to go into the Steam controller configuration and play around with the right stick sensitivity the dial it in to your preferred taste.

Thanks for this detailed tutorial. This was exactly what I needed. I have noticed that it sees the accelerometer (left stick down) as always on, suggesting that I have a problem with this. Any ideas on how to fix?
Hey Kevin, are you using the table stock or did you add the Atgames arcade control panel to it? Also, are you on the latest Legends Pinball firmware?
Thanks for checking out the channel!
I think I’m having same type of problem any solution?
When I do the right hand nudge I get an Axis 3 instead of 5. Is there a reason for that?
Thanks for video. Looking for some help… I can’t calibrate because my accelerometer x axis is jumping and it makes it impossible to map any buttons. In windows when I look at controller x axis is jumping around. If I try to calibrate it gets worse. If I reset to defaults it is better but still the x axis is jumping around. Like it is way to sensitive? Any help is appreciated.
@@FactorofGames So do you have 2 monitors set up? I only have the PC to the ALP. So am I NOT to change the display settings for my PC to portrait?
Are you using Steam in Big Picture Mode or just the standard Steam view?
Hi, has anyone else been getting a "D3D Device removed due to DXGI_Error_DEVICE_RESET" message? It crashes PFX3 after a few minutes.
Hey Bob, is that a PC error or is the actual ALP throwing that error?
@@FactorofGames the laptop
I downloaded your configuration file and applied it. It shows it being applied when I start fx3, yet the accelerometer doesn't work, the plunger doesn't work and the nudge buttons are flippers. Go figure
Hi David, have you went in and configured your machine’s control deck in the Steam settings?
I'm not using an at games addon controller therefore I don't have enough buttons to map to let it save is there a solution to that
As far as I know the actual control deck that comes with the ALP is recognized as a Xinput device, like a Xbox controller.

@@FactorofGames Right or Left? In your video you show accessing the left stick.
Sorry, left stick for the nudge.
@@FactorofGames I also posted a link to your video all over Facebook to help others like me!
Just an update that the accelerometer only works on Zen tables. Nudging the ALP playing Marvel or Williams' tables does absolutely nothing.
Appreciate the video but I still have no luck. I tried using your settings to see if that worked but no luck.
I do not have the alp control deck so I’m not sure if they only enabled it for those who have that as I get no x/y movement or even the notion that it is even detected at all.
You didn’t have to do anything in the regular alp menus to activate the accelerometer for otg right? I looked and didn’t see anything but making sure I didn’t miss something.
Man sorry to hear that. I didn’t have to setup anything in the ALP menus. I just took the update and configured the Arcade control Deck.
I do know there is a difference in the way Steam sees the original deck and the arcade control deck. Do you have the Xbox Configuration support and Generic Gamepad Configuration support checked in the Steam Controller Settings?
@@FactorofGames mine shows up when configured as Xbox one game pad.
@@FactorofGames when you go to the windows controller properties your x/y bars show up under the control panel right, mine do not and that’s got to be the problem. Mine just acts like they do not exist. I’m wondering if it’s because you have the alp control panel.
In Device and Printers, the arcade deck shows up as ‘ATG Control Deck’ and windows recognizes it as both a mouse and generic controller. If I go to the controller settings in windows I can see the Y and Z rotation picking up the accelerometer.
@@FactorofGames the new update just came today and I was hoping maybe that would fix things for me and still nothing.
Maybe it’s the controller driver? I’m trying to look into that.
Also what does your alp show up as in devices and printers? Mine shows up as a mouse and is labeled as atg control deck. When I right click it shows mouse settings and game controller settings.
When I click game controller it brings me to the screen where I can see all the buttons etc and there is still no x/y rotation.
Any ideas?
you really should made screen bigger where control setting is i cant see shit
Hey David, If you email me (greg@fatoldgamers.com) then I can send you any images you need.
Flipper lag any suggestions ???
Is your Legends Pinball on the most current Firmware (40.50.0 is what I have)? There were a couple of versions that caused flipper lag when using OTG. If you are on the current one, then I would lower all the graphic settings on the Pc and move down to 720x1280 resolution, see if it’s any better then start moving up the graphics again.
@@FactorofGames For FX3 I turned off MSAA, Ball shadow/tracking etc and that fixed the lag I was seeing.
Where exactly would I download the file in steam ????
You go to the community tab. I'm going to try to find it myself, again .
Can the nudge be used in wireless control deck mode?
i would think so
@@funtyes1970 so far in my testing no it doesn't work
@@retrowolfe9972 i don't know it works for me i think wireless control deck mode works better then male to male USB cable OTG mode . cuz i don't get any lag with my flippers like i do with USB cable . there no difference in wireless control deck mode it same thing . one is wireless and other is USB cable
@@retrowolfe9972 maybe you don't have your control setting set up right . do you use joytokey? cuz that what i use and everything works for me
Did you change the name of the config? I can no longer find it in the Community
Okay, it’s there now. It shows up at the bottom for me, and it has a V2 at the end of it
i got it working on my own- but accident.
@@FactorofGames Thanks. I'll go grab it since i reset the accel/left joystick settings back to the 'default'.
@@FactorofGames GOT IT!
Pinball FX3 is garbage. Get an old copy of Pinball Arcade as the physics are superior.
I did end up picking up the Arcooda Pinball Arcade deal and that was damn $$$, but they do have totally different physics like you mentioned.
