Been wanting to try that MI reaction rod. The one I have doesn't have that extra support for the gas tube channel in the receiver. A roll pin starter punch is definitely a ton of help for those pesky gas block roll pins. Good stuff brother! Hope you have an awesome week!

If the barrel nut is stuck, the URR in this video is a good tool according to SOTAR, but the geissele is not. The issue with the geissele is all the force when torqueing the barrel nut on or off is applied to the index pin on the barrel extension and the notch in the receiver threads because the rod is only holding onto the barrel extension, but the torque from you wrenching on it is being applied to a nut that is on the threads of the upper receiver. so the barrel is not gonna rotate, but the upper wants to because the nut that's on the receiver threads. this has led to lots of pins being sheared and receivers cracked. the URR you show here supports the receiver using that sail, so when torque is applied to the nut, the receiver doesn't spin with the nut until it hits the index pin like it would with the geissele or similar. the geissele reaction rod is good for muzzle devices as the torque is being applied to the barrel, not the receiver, and of course, the URR here is also good for that. however, there are still people who go nuts and break everything.

Just got mine in. I had to loosen the Allen screws or it won’t fit into the channel. Is this normal? Will leaving the Allen’s a little loose be a problem?

I haven’t loosened the Allen screws on mine. Fits different on each different receiver but I’ve had some extremely tight ones. I normally I put oil on it and slide the upper on. Still tight but not as much friction with the oil.

@@furysactorslounge3956 I run a Nylon lower block and sometimes a Magpul bev block. Got the Nylon block off ebay years back but they can be located at Brownells and other similar shops.

does this fit a 7.62x39 barrel

I haven’t dabbled in the 7.62x39 world but if the lugs are different on the bolt it will not fit. Have me curious since I haven’t tried 7.62 if it is different.
