    I've watched enough AVE videos to confidently proclaim; This device has a high content of fiber glass reinforcement in the polymer mixture. Looks like a quality part.
    I recently bought a HG from Midwest Industries. I can attest that they make high quality products. Definitely support this company making quality products right here in the USA.

    Perhaps for future iterations, magnetize the small parts tray and add a Grip Zone so I know where to hold it.

    • @casek6930
      @casek6930 2 роки тому +1

      That's the first thing I thought too, but then I considered that they may have thought of that and omitted it due to not wanting to magnetize the small parts themselves (so they won't attract small metallic debris when installed back in the gun).
      Not sure if that would be a legit issue... **shrugs**

    I always install the trigger guard pin with my vise. I use my KAK bolt catch starter punch to get it seated just enough to hold it in place. Then I pop the front detent/screw in and swing the trigger guard up and slowly close my vise. I use hard-ish plastic jaws and it cranks the pin in with steady pressure. It makes installing it simple and you don't have to worry about smacking the ears with a hammer. It may need a slight tap to get it seated but it's always worked phenomenally well for me.

    I've bought bench blocks from just about every company who makes them trying to find one that'll work to hold the gas block in place while I'm driving in that roll pin and out of all of them only 1 halfway works. I don't build AR's for a living but I do put a few together a month or work on a few so this is a no brainer especially since they figured out a way to hold the gas block in place. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

    Damn, this sure beats the hell out of using a collection of tools for assembling a lower. Thanks Kurt for bringing this to our attention. I don't build a lot of them, maybe 1 per year or so, but still, I'd extra for the right tool for the job all day long.

    Brother I know what 350 legend is I’m north of you over in Michigan we have that silly straight walled case hunting rule also. Even though the minimum cartridge width is .357 and 350 legend is .355 also I know saami says .355 to .357 but my barrels won’t go into battery with projectiles sized to .357. All that bologna aside Midwest Industry makes some dam good stuff. I always buy there products when doing a AR build quality at a reasonable price point. I’m definitely going to have to save up my ducketts and pick up that lower assembly block. I’m definitely glad to see they also made one for the larger AR10 lowers good stuff right there.

I still need a manufacturer to create a more positive charging handle latch block, that pinches the latch while adding extensions!!

  • @davidunderwood3605

    This is a good tool for what it's designed for. You could remove a little material for those grips used. I'm sure they would approve. The fact it's American made and works for gas blocks is great. You must not like made in China. As Wheeler makes a very good AR-15 bench block that works for lowers and uppers as well and will even work for the bcg. So does Real Avid now ( which I haven't used yet ). But that broken AR-15 vise block looked suspiciously like the bottom of a Wheeler tool.

    How tight is it when using it in the mag well? Will the lower flex when torquing the castle nut?

    As a home user......not building rifles super often.....couldn't I use this in place of the first tool in the video? Yes, not as structurely sound for barrel work, but it would hold the lower/upper "well enough" to remove/install a barrel, correct?

    • @raifsevrence
      @raifsevrence 2 роки тому

      People making a distinction between the two are doing so to differentiate between poor quality plastics and high quality plastics that have better qualities like high fiberglass content for structural reinforcement. It's not tomato/tomato. There are real differences.
