The Reaction Rod by Geissele Automatics is a great tool for working on AR-15 / M-4 style rifles. It is clamped securely into your vice and then holds your upper receiver by locking into the star chamber of your rifles barrel. This allows you to crank down, especially on your muzzle device, without transferring all that torque to the aluminum receiver.

Torque wrench isn’t designed for breaking things loose. It’s for tightening

This is true. I misuse tools all the time I am afraid...

I have definitely done that too without thinking. Late night projects when the kids finally go to sleep haha

You need to get a breaker bar to loosen the muzzle brake. Breaker bars are cheap. You can damage your torque wrench doing what you did to loosen the muzzle brake.

I am with you buddy. When I went out to film though, I didn't have it... So I ran with what I had. Thanks for watching!

Big props for setting up a wilderness work station. I'll build my own AR one day, that's a life goal.

If I could get to an AR or AK builder class at the same time as the show I'd be all over it, but I'm not sure anyone lets in foreigners and I can only just afford to survive vegas as it is, ha.

What about a knights rifle? I have a Knight Stick which looks like that rod except it will fit it the proprietary knight’s barrel extension. Have you worked on those before? My muzzle device came in the mail yesterday a 5.56 QDC MAMS device. Any pointers? I’ve been told the knights muzzle devices are known to be extremely hard to take off.

Is the reaction rod better or the Magpul Bev Block?

Am I the only one that noticed the 14inch Bulge at 0:30? You’re wife doesn’t know how good she had it, dude.
