5:53 to answer you question Dr.Roanoke, it usually depends on how fast the train is going , for example if a passenger train is going full speed (lets say 55mph but they can reach 160mph) it will take 1 1/2 miles for to come to a full stop , but the time it take to stop is also affected by how many cars are hooked up, how fast is it going, when the brake are applied, the track incline, ect so the time that was shown in the movie would be impossible unless it was just starting to move

I definitely wanna see you tackle the self-mutagenic monstrosity that is Godzilla from *Shin Godzilla* at some point! This thing defying known scientific principles and yet being defeated via scientific methods makes this film perfect for the channel to cover!
I mean they break down in the film it's a mixotrophic lifeform, mutated from a creature or more likely a while lineage of creatures that ate radiological waste for decades, that folds matter into itself. Very possibly, Goro Maki fed himself to the creature and was eaten carrying something that forced the creature to spontaneously mutate itself to survive. Essentially it's a lifeform that's a massive weaponized Cancer cell that has itself weaponized the radiation that created it and now sustains it.
Also, defying scientific principals isn't necessarily an impossible feat. It just means we haven't learned what that is yet. This extends to any lifeform. It's a bit of arrogance to assume the rules of life are universal and immutable. Same with physics. Physics here works in a particular way sure, but another planet in another solar system or galaxy? The rules could theoretically be different even if it is more likely that they can't be 100% completely different.

My biggest issue is the fuel tank is built into the locomotive part of the train. So all the fuel lines are internal and thus couldn't be damaged from the outside.
The train also reaaallly looks like it's electrified, and considering that most of the UK rail is electrified, especially in the London area, the whole fuel thing doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
I've not watched this movie, but based on the summary, I suspect they chose Joe because, not only did he display a willingness to risk himself for the rest of the group and willingness to fight, he displays a great deal of courage and emotional toughness. When someone gets hurt or killed, or when they find a body, Joe seems much more in control while everyone else is freaking out. William is willing to fight, but it's the desperate fighting of a cornered animal. He's fighting because he's scared for his own safety. Joe fights to protect others, so the werewolves saw him as a good candidate for a pack leader. Looks like he finally got that promotion after all.
7:24 "Joe says the driver is working on it by lubricating the tracks with his blood, which upsets the passengers." 12:39 "Oooh, there he is. There's my handsome boy" Its commentary like this that I subscribed for!

I used to love learning before my depression turned my world dark, but thanks to you I WANT to learn again, about everything that piques my curiosity. You gave that back to me. Something I didn't think I'd get back. I know i won't get anything out of learning these things, but I've missed the passion I've felt finding out about new things again, and I just wanted to say that I'm grateful to you. Sincerely, L
I really love the distinct use of eye shine with the werewolves of this movie, as well as the practical effects' design like big meaty arms, teeth, cheek bones where the jaw muscles would be strengthened, and the really bulgy eyes which are definitely pronounced in canines compared to us and most primates. They are essentially still human even as the features are made more extreme, they don't come out with dog heads or overly hairy and It really helps the realism angle as they don't look like a natural creature and more like the mutation of a human.
That smile, poor bucket, I enjoy your videos and look forward to the next one. Thank you for the laughs and the knowledge I don't really know much about( Doctor stuff)!
Great video mate, I love this film, it is interesting that they give the Wolves a bit of a back story, with the ring, quite a nice touch to let us know that they are not just faceless monsters.
Idea! You know how grasshoppers turn into locusts with a simple pheromone (name of which escapes me). Could some thing similar happen to human? From normal person to just a huper aggressive animalistic form. No body changes (growing claws, fangs, longer hair, shapeshifting and no sudden silver allergy) just flip pheromone switch and Jim is no longer Jim, he is a hyper aggressive animal in the shape of a person. Maybe small changes in redness of Jim's eyes or the amount of drool in his mouth.

This was the most in depth analysis I've seen or read on Howl, one of my favourite werewolf flicks. My theory was the skinnier, beta like werewolves were more newly turned than the bigger alpha ones, who may have been werewolves longer therefore had increased size and strength. This is suggested as when Joe is turned he is more similar in size and look to the smaller betas. Many of the critics that reviewed this movie never took any of this into consideration and just wrote it off but a lot of thought had gone into the werewolf design, even the way they walk in the forrest was done well. Some bits like when they were all in the train wasn't done so well but overall its one of the best werewolf movies to come out in the last decade. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
I enjoyed this movie. Great choice of setting and environment for a horror movie, nice build up of atmosphere and nice ending not happy but still the sacrifice part was nice.
Honestly not seen the rest of the video but that first appearance at 13:40 could easily be either a werewolf or a vampire.

Yes
The real horror in that movie were the press conferences
You should do the Wendigos from “Until Dawn” or the werewolves from “The Quarry” next. Those creatures are endlessly fascinating

Hollywood doesn't know that
I've not watched this movie, but based on the summary, I suspect they chose Joe because, not only did he display a willingness to risk himself for the rest of the group and willingness to fight, he displays a great deal of courage and emotional toughness.
7:24 "Joe says the driver is working on it by lubricating the tracks with his blood, which upsets the passengers."
12:39 "Oooh, there he is. There's my handsome boy"
Its commentary like this that I subscribed for!
Damn fine recap and explanation. One question though: How does the moving castle fit in?
Lmao.
They just released European Bison back to Britain for the first time in thousands of years this Monday. There's only 3 of them in Blean Woods (1 male, 2 females), but thus is very big.
They're also releasing Red Billed Chough in Dover soon.
What's Chough?
@@praetorianrex5571 A bird. It is on a lot of our flags, but most people assume it is a Blackbird. This is because the Chough has been hone from Kent for 200 years.

Holy shit, never knew there were bison in Europe. After a quick Google search I see why, they were hunted to near extinction hundreds of years ago with currently a little over 6000 alive
@@yeethao7314 They evolved alongside Aurochs (giant cows). Aurochs evolved into modern cows in Britain through human contact and island dwarfism (stuff gets smaller on islands), because an Auroch 'will' kill you.
Bison went extinct in Britain 6000 years ago. Those were Forest Bison, not European Bison. People were still nomadic at this time, but farming had just been introduced. The climate was also still changing from the previous Ice Age.

I will also add that I will happily sacrifice a waterproof thin phone for a slightly more bulky but more modifiable one.
This will happen in a few years. The EU has demanded cell phone makers make removable batteries.

Tackling lycanthropy from the Ginger Snaps trilogy would be sick to see. The lycans of 1886 are also pretty great, especially as them being not supernatural in nature is one of the major promotional lore.
6:45 that joke about "everyone felt the hug hit the train" sent me dunno whyXD
Speaking of werewolves, have you thought of covering bloodborne? My personal favorite game and I just realized it actually qualifies for a game to be covered here. One thing in particular Ithink would be interesting is where the amygdalas(no not the brain thing) put their eyes when they don't bulge out.
I think the problem with bloodborne would be that the issue of the great ones needs to be explored. They have the most influence on the mutations of the people, so covering how they effect the world would need to be covered first.
You always go the extra mile to add in little jokes and stuff I wanna let you know I always look for things like the time stamp names, after credits stuff and the like keep it up man I appreciate your videos.
*Fun fact about trains:* you've got the total surface area of dime within contact of each train wheel and the rail. Which is why it takes a train traveling at 30mph at least 1½ miles to stop. Granted, this is because trains also have a butt ton of momentum.

I love The phrase "realistc werewolf" as If there was a "rigth or worng" way of doing one
I love the detail of the eyeshine. Can't recall seeing it in another werewolf flick.
This was a good film.. I was kinda so-so on the creature design but appreciate them trying something different..the accents are thick in some parts and they were tough to follow for me, but I enjoyed it overall. Needs a sequel.

Well made as usual my friend. The intriguing nature and habits of the human body are actually fascinating. Thanks for giving me something to listen to while working
This movie had me nervous about going on a train at night XD
