You know you can call them werebats, you wont be judged. Its not very comforting that you don't have to be bit to be turned is it. Also i've always found it kinda neat that some bats look straight up like little flying dogs.
If that is what it is otherwise reminds me of the giant bat in "Graveyard Shift" Lovecraftianesque film based on a Steven King short story. Those are called fox bats.
Watched this like 2 years ago and I remember I looked at my phone then back up to the screen and like 50 minutes had passed and they were still just walking up the mountain. I swear this had one of the slowest buildups to 'almost nothing' that ive ever seen. That and after that point the wife being randomly openly horny towards her husband was literally a signal for someone to get attacked, literally every single time
Thank u sm for ur content! Watching horror films thru a scientific lense is literally the only way I can cause I have servere anxiety and ptsd. Ur videos actually make it possible for me to enjoy a whole genre that otherwise I wouldn’t b able to
your explanation of what they are reminds me of an old mockumentary about werewolfs where it was using real world science to explain how werewolfs could be real they used the rabies virus doing basically what you talked about but jumping from wolf to human though they toned down the transformation to just an increase in hair growth and skin tightening giving the illusion of wolf like facial features and claws
I love you so much for the Shia LeBoeuf reference at the beginning. Also, I can't help but think the lynx that we saw was meant to be a clue. Lynx/bat crossover? You get the size and the white fur, and then you get some humans getting bitten for some more crosover craziness?

And maybe I love pointing out the inaccuracies in movies as well so it's a joy to see you do the same in a super entertaining way ❤😂
Your point about "The Hills Have Eyes" infuriating you. I don't know which one it was because I think it had several movies. But the one where the family is in the RV and the baddies trick them outside. That scene just sends me over the edge with rage. The family literally runs past them, on the other side of a thin sheet, in their RV, leaving their daughter to be taken by the baddies. Literally RIGHT PAST THEM! Watched that in my early teens (love horror movies). To this day when I am reminded about that movie series I get pissed off that one scene. I hate the family just as much as the baddies.
I’m an avid outdoorsman and spend a large amount of time out of the way up in the mountains far from even phone signal. After an attack by a bobcat in my early 20s I never go out without force multipliers. With that said I sometimes wonder how the entertainment value of a movie would be if the characters were prepared for their journey realistically
I watched a video a while back talking about viruses in reproduction; they were talking to a scientist in England(or Scotland can’t remember which) and he got a sheep who was newly pregnant and basically injected antivirals into the sheeps uterus and they found that the sheeps pregnancy failed. I’d have to find the video again but it was a very interesting watch.
This is now my favorite video I’ve seen on your channel. I am very happy with the direction you’re taking, and I am excited to see what you put out next.
Just wanted to say, I really like the new video format! Given how dense the science portion of the video was, a lot of times I ended up not watching it. Having the two sections merge into something less intense on both regards (movie summary and science) made it much more fun for me to watch, and much easier to follow!
You know what videogame virus/bacteria that be interesting to see in a video? The virus from Extermination from the good old ps2. Loved that game and wish it had a sequel.
Hey wanted to suggest: saw a video about using H.U.N.K in the RE4 Remake, and realized how insane he is, physically, mentally, and generally. What if you did a shorter video exploring the documented human maximums, and used it as a baseline of what video game/movie biology for humans is not documented as possible limits, and what is. Things like strength, speed, toughness, healing rate. Would be cool I think. If you do that video, you obviously don’t have to but showing my comment would be awesome cause I could show off to my friends. Regardless, keep up the good work and stay cool/nerdy.
It is possible for a virus to basically use a bacteria as a ride into a preferred host system or as a protective shell. This is a way that both terms could be used together and it be acceptable in terms to call one the other.
Wasn't expecting this film. I stumbled across it on amazon prime and love it. Watching this I started to wonder if they were actually werewolves and I was wrong but I'm glad I was right about them being bat people because that's why I like the movie.
Now, lets say, hypothetically, that somebody once told me that the world would proceed to roll me, and made the claim that I was not, the smartest tool in the shed. Which would lead us to look at the facts and see that she was looking kind of dumb, due to the fact that she had placed her finger and her thumb, in the shape of the letter L, located on her forehead. This would mean that the years would start coming, and logically wont stop coming, that I was, hypothetically, fed to the rules, which would proceed with me hitting the ground running. Which didn’t make sense, to live for fun, in a way that your brain gets smart, yet your head gets dumb, seeing as there’s so much to do, and so much to see, so now I must pose the question, what is wrong with taking the backseat? This is due to the fact that you’ll never know if you don’t go, nor you will shine if you don’t glow. For you see, you are, at this moment, an All-Star, so get your game on, and proceed to go play, indeed, you’re an All-Star, get the show on, which would entitled you to get paid. That would mean that all that glitters, is indeed gold, and that only shooting stars, can participate in the process of breaking the mold.
Got something that might peak your interest A TV series called the strain. I've been watching it and found it pretty interesting part parasite ala Las plaga, part vampires, part zombies Throughout the series it's all painted as half mythology half scientific so it's one of those where I'd love to know how accurate they are or how much they got wrong cause often when they do the science approach it's either all wrong all decently looked into
@@Arguvandal recommend the comic if you haven’t read it. Makes a lot of changes from the show but I think I may behave liked it more. It doesn’t have that annoying British chick in it for one
You should do one on the movie “primal” I believe is what it’s called. College students vacation in South America and catch some sort of virus that essentially turns reverts them to their more primitive instincts. Also, I went over to the other channel and loved it so much I totally forgot about this channel which is where I first found you, because I was binge listening/watching the other one so much.
Ok, video idea. Dnd mindflayers. You explain some of the history, diets, culture, goals, and ideals. There's tons of stuff explaining what it does but not how, could be fun to explore their biology. Could even go over their hivemind and how that operates. Could even explain how the best hivemind is in fact that a unconscious hivemind is without a doubt, the most terrifying concept to go against. (I understand humans can technology be considered that, but hiveminds are cool and it's a interesting concept to just know everyone all at once in some form of weird groupings. Also, ironic to think a alien race would see us as we'd see something like a dog. Intelligent yet not anywhere on par to a human. Also weirdly more biological and psyonics. )
Very interesting and informative as always! Even if I understand far from everything, you still explain it in a way where I get the general gist of it. Excellent work. 😁

instead of having magic choas weather switching bewteen super cold and super hot in minutes.
My good sir have you ever been to michigan the weather here can be middle of summer and then snow
2015 Antarctica was at 65 degrees for a short time. That makes my blood run cold.
I had no idea what these creatures could be until you said bat and then it was like “ohhh”. Your videos are always so fascinating!
My favourite part of this channel is the affect it has on my hypochondria. I simultaneously love and hate it
Did you know that hypochondriacs tend to live longer?
Watched this like 2 years ago and I remember I looked at my phone then back up to the screen and like 50 minutes had passed and they were still just walking up the mountain. I swear this had one of the slowest buildups to 'almost nothing' that ive ever seen. That and after that point the wife being randomly openly horny towards her husband was literally a signal for someone to get attacked, literally every single time
Pacing not everyone can do it right.
Thank you for doing the science during the movie portion. I always seem to end up taking an "ADD break" during the science
I've been waiting for a REAL biochemistry 'influencer' to come along. Great work!
I would have been a straight A student if you were my teacher for any of my Highschool classes. The way you explain things is too amazing.
At all videos, be it here or Roanoke Tales, the review/context part are always great, especially combined with the science part which i also enjoy a lot!
Hey, you should do a video on the star treks Borg. That's right up your lane lol and I think you'd do a great job at it.
YES!!
Haha, thanks for the laugh roanoke, french werewolf made me let out a small laugh (im not doing the best mentally atm) love your content, im not a big science person but listening to your videos is enlightening and insightful
I always love your videos! Another great one and I cannot wait for you to make more. I love it when people point out the mind-numbing idiocracy of mixing up bacteria and viruses! And maybe I love pointing out the inaccuracies in movies as well so it's a joy to see you do the same in a super entertaining way ❤😂
Things they could have looked up and do it right is annoying. Can ruin a movie.
Love your content Roanoke!! 80s baby gal here and I really enjoy your channels... Tales is my fav... Really want a part 2 of Paranormal Uber!!
I believe that's the one! It fills me with a desire for retribution lol
@@RoanokeGaming I'm glad I'm not the only one!
That intro was amazing. *chef's kiss*

for some reason the video of santa whispering "no witnesses" before pulling out a gun came to my mind.

Im gonna use this from now on

I love this type of content especially when things arent going so well physically. Love yah Roanoke
"how the entertainment value of a movie would be if the characters were prepared for their journey realistically"
Every movie ever.
OMG yes! That beginning was absolutely pure gold, time to settle in for a great Roanoke video!
"Sharpen a stick, what are you doing?!?" Favourite quote I've ever heard on youtube.
The survival instincts of entire group are coming from that one braincell they all share!😊
DUDE! Your writing and delivery is so dam informative, entertaining and funny! Thank you for this.
Pro intro. Based true and honest.
Thanks my man 😎
My favorite thing is during the science part imagine Roanoke is a scp scientist just lecturing random monster origins to us all
Roanoke its called super 8 because theyre filmed on 8mm handheld cameras 😊
Make sense!
This is now my favorite video I’ve seen on your channel. I am very happy with the direction you’re taking, and I am excited to see what you put out next.
I always 👍 before watching..
Why?? I already know its gonna be good.
The French Werewolf GOT me😂😂
that intro had me *HOWLING* lol loved the video.
Half the reason I watch your vids are your hilarious comments!! Never change Roanoke, never change 😂
When you said ‘croissant’ at like 4:15, my coffee came out of my nose
Hey wanted to suggest: saw a video about using H.U.N.K in the RE4 Remake, and realized how insane he is, physically, mentally, and generally. What if you did a shorter video exploring the documented human maximums, and used it as a baseline of what video game/movie biology for humans is not documented as possible limits, and what is. Things like strength, speed, toughness, healing rate. Would be cool I think. If you do that video, you obviously don’t have to but showing my comment would be awesome cause I could show off to my friends. Regardless, keep up the good work and stay cool/nerdy.
Love the content. Been a watcher for a little while now. As a biology nerd myself and a story/lore nerd this channel satisfies my needs
2:37 - well now you gotta check out the physiology of the monsters from supernatural (and mayhaps MTV's teen wolf?)
Roanoke roasting the shit out of movies is definitely one of my favourite parts of the video
It is possible for a virus to basically use a bacteria as a ride into a preferred host system or as a protective shell. This is a way that both terms could be used together and it be acceptable in terms to call one the other.
Oh Roanoke. You got a hard, loud laugh out of me with the Shia Labeouf live reference. Never change!
Wasn't expecting this film. I stumbled across it on amazon prime and love it. Watching this I started to wonder if they were actually werewolves and I was wrong but I'm glad I was right about them being bat people because that's why I like the movie.
I love how you add science to fantasy. It's amazing!

A TV series called the strain.
I've been watching it and found it pretty interesting part parasite ala Las plaga, part vampires, part zombies
Throughout the series it's all painted as half mythology half scientific so it's one of those where I'd love to know how accurate they are or how much they got wrong cause often when they do the science approach it's either all wrong all decently looked into
Love the strain. Too bad the last season was horse shit. I was really disappointed
@@Arguvandal recommend the comic if you haven’t read it. Makes a lot of changes from the show but I think I may behave liked it more. It doesn’t have that annoying British chick in it for one
@@bn-tc2tk I've heard of the comics, too bad Eichorst isn't in them that much (one of the things the show did well). I'll give them a go someday.
Always looking forward to your videos Roanoke, keep it up!
thanks for watching my man!
You should do one on the movie “primal” I believe is what it’s called. College students vacation in South America and catch some sort of virus that essentially turns reverts them to their more primitive instincts. And if I remember right alters their physical appearance. The move is trash but the concept was kind of cool.
Also, I went over to the other channel and loved it so much I totally forgot about this channel which is where I first found you, because I was binge listening/watching the other one so much.
The chad bat immune system clowns down on the virgin human immune system.
As a person who skis you’d be surprised how easily cliffs can sneak up on you, especially if there’s a lot of overhanging snow
My thoughts as well. The snow reflecting the sunlight isn’t exactly helping the situation…
SUGGESTION. Whatever is killing people in the series Day 5 or the version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Daniel Craig.
The little rants throughout and at the end make this even better
Also weirdly more biological and psyonics. )
I'd have to check into it but possibly in the future!
I call dibs on the spooktober video being some forsaken foreign movie that 12 people watched and Roanoke is actually the producer.
*God bless your UA-cam channel.*
Amen.
Gotta say there is almost nobody that makes content that is both entertaining and educational I love your content man keep it up
I love it when Roanoke says
Its pathophysiologing time and pathophysiologizes all over those pathogens
I love hearing your explanations. They scratch the itch to know why or how.
I loved this flick, it was set up so well.
Especially with the first dead person reveal. It looked genuine and creepy.
Your videos are something no other UA-camr does. You have fueled my love for bio tech
Roanoke gaming please do the LOR biology and physiology and morphology and the effects of the C virus from resident evil
I have been suggesting the C-virus for a while
Very interesting and informative as always! Even if I understand far from everything, you still explain it in a way where I get the general gist of it. Excellent work. 😁
I would be interested to see you do a pathophysiology analysis of the demons in the anime Demon Slayer. I know that you typically stick to games and live action movies, but I think it would be very interesting.
that would be kinda cool to see that and that anime parysite
God I would absolutely love to see him try and make sense of the biological clusterfuck that is demonslayer's demons
@@darklazarre442 well it is only transmissible from patient zero (Muzan), and it seems to present differently in every infected. Victims also maintain their intelligence, unlike most other zombies/vampires which become almost feral.
@GusCraft460 yeah that's part of why I called it a clusterfuck lol. The demonization is all over the place on its effects, physiological changes, blood arts, etc. I wanna see the funny youtube science man try to tackle some fantasy

Amazing vid and being honest what glues me to ur vids is your chad tier worldplay to prevent demonetizationXD, still amazing work making sense of some of this film, bizzare as is.
