  • Here, I cover the Vltor A5 buffer system that I'm installing on my SPR build, and why I'm switching to this system.

Airborne, I have no experience with the Vitor System but I agree that the rifle length is softer and more fun to shoot. I didn't find it noticeable while shooting prone or prone supported, but you do feel it when you put the carbine up on the barrier in kneeling and standing supported imo. Geiselle makes a recoil spring called the Super 42 in both carbine and rifle buffer length. I didn't notice much difference on the rifle I have but it did a lot to tame my M&P 15 carbine. Just another option for you. Unfortunately they don't sell it by itself anymore, you have to get it with a h1, 2, or 3 buffer now.

Yeah. Rifle length is definitely the softest, but that A5 system provides a lot of that soft recoil impulse with the adjustability of the carbine system. I have no experience with the Super 42 spring Buy. I know guys who like it. Personally, I prefer Sprinco if I'm staying with a carbine system.
