The haters in these comments are hilarious, no idea what they're talking about. Half of them think this will melt, the other half don't understand how baffles work. Great mod, nicely done!
This gives me a great idea. Personally, im going to make this out of the same foam. Then long story short melt some aluminum and cast an aluminum copy of this. For airsoft of course😁. Great video 👍
I’m impressed by your work. Ive researched quite a lot about suppressors for airsoft on gas. When I see people doing the normal “roll of foam” I know that doesn’t do much. Your video was intriguing. I’ve got a beautifully crafted Gemtech trinity replica. It comes with foam baffle rings. I’ve been thinking about it and the foam baffles have no gaps between them when packed in. So whilst they give a resonant suppression (softer walls for the sound waves to reflect off as opposed to the aluminium interior sides of the silencer) there is no where for the gas to expand into. Foam is quite dense for a fast gas to hit and it will take the path of least resistance and follows the protectile out the exit hole, which is quite large. It has to be to avoid risk of a strike. It’s the gas rapidly expanding out of the exit hole of a mock suppressor or barrel into atmospheric pressure that creates the crack or loud pop. A bit like popping a balloon. What you need is like you’ve done, a method of expansion within the suppressor. I’ve been considering removing half the baffles and allowing space between each one. But having seen your video I though “now that’s a baffle”. I might experiment with some builders foam myself if I can find the right diametre.

Hey man, great cutting work! I think it depends on the right foam and a good, precise knife. Have you done any testing? You should really do a video from the perspective of the target. This way you could demonstrate with and without the suppressor. I'd be so curious how big the effect is!
Duuude are you a surgeon? If not, you should consider a carrier change. I'm not conviced this would do more than simple foam slices but it looks so good and it's not that much work. It would be interesting to put this and just the foam and sliced foam on a sound level meter.
its not some magical foam tubing LOL, Its pipe insulation, looks like inch and a quarter pipe insulation. you can pick it up from any builders merchants.
in the late 80's I played a lot of paintball. We used to make suppressors for our paintball guns. One weekend ATF showed up and told us if we still had them when they came back we would be arrest for violation (of whatever the text of the suppressor law is) We told them that was BS they were PVC used on paintball guns which were not fire arms. They responded by saying that you could adapt it to a real firearm. We said that was BS if they were used on a real firearm they would blow apart. They told us we could do whatever we wanted but if we had them when they came back we would be going to jail. Needless to say we stopped using them. Just an observation...

BulletGaming012 i was about to comment that it looks reasonable but wheres the testing? Whats the proof it works or is worth the time? Could 3d print that in a few mins. Overall pointless
So this is what the ATF is tripping about? Literal foam ? In a mock suppressor , I’m sure it would melt if tried to use on a real gun which is why I don’t understand why it’s illegal
It's the wrong kind of foam to not make "baffles". If you're going to leave the foam tube intact, it needs to be "open-cell" foam. Pipe lagging like in this video is "closed-cell" foam.
Dude, there are just so many dummy silencers out there (this $15-20 crap with a few foam rings and a spring inside) and if you'd ONLY do a 3D print for these dummies, you'll sell thousands of it and get fuckin rich! As soon as you've been successful, send me one, I'll pay for the shipping and material. ;-)
As i said in video its a Kings Arms ASG silencer. I bought it at local asg online market. Its fitted as standard with a thread. For some models you need an adapter for it.
You dont need, some car fuel filter from napa have the same pattern with already a 8mm hole in each section, almost 40$, after you need an adapter (30$) 9/16-24 to 5/8-24 (24 is the numbers of thread per inch) and make a hole of 7mm in the cap at the other end 😉 i tried one on my G&G SRL and it work really well, and i modified another one for my real mp5... Better than a real supressor at 200$ for juste 70$ (filter+adapter)
Dear Sir, you idea is brilliant. Also your cutting skills are admirable. Can you please design a silencer for a .22 rifle, which can be home made with simple hand tools. Regards Konrad

That's true 👍
Great video. I love the simplicity and how it would just have to work extremely well. Doing myself has great appeal to me. Thank you.
I made one of these. Only reduced the sound by 2-3 decibles but made the pellet gun shoot way low.
The bore is too big that why ,you need the bore to be 1 to 2 mm bigger than the projectile you are shooting

What is the point of cutting it? Wouldn't it be silencer if you just insert the foam as it is?
Those cutting scpaces are "catching" the air from the barrel. Try to test it
@@tooper4616 thanks. I will

why do u make the cuts in it? what would the function difference be if u just left the foam insert uncut and intact?
The answer is simple. It silences the shot a bit. Maybe you dont see a big difference but still it is, and its enough to do the cuts. Greetz.
Tooper ah OK. thank you for the reply. if left uncut would the foam still suppress ?
Sure, it will but not that good as with cuts.

how did you get the foam inside? isn't there things blocking the inner ends of the suppressor?
As you can see at the begining the foam is blocked by the nut. Almost the same nut is at the other side of silencers tube.
perhaps you could do a video showing how this works please. I can't believe the foam won't melt.
It will melt in real gun but this silencer was made for air soft gun (VRS-10). Cheers ;)
what can one do to optimize that? even if cut diagonal? in a way that it sucks even more air up.
Should try temperature and blast resistant foam
wtf? why? It's for an airsoftgun
With the help of a hot wire, could be easiest . . . . anyway, very good !
After making this straightforward we can attach to the gun? How can attach to the gun ? Only this sponge no need any PVC pipe?
Oh man..... ok. Yes you need an asg or homemade silencer (pvc pipe) to put this foam inside.
