So Witch knight, hexadin or pallylock, i have some notes. 1- this build is already pretty bonus action hungry. you could use the everburn blade instead, freeing up the 1st bonus action while maintaining the same dpr. 2- pact of the blade is in the game, which would work much better with a greatsword as well, and you could take the thirsting blade invocation to bridge the gap until you can get paladin extra attack. 3- while EB is nice, paladins do have ranged options, particularly dex based paladins. you could go hand crossbows early to rush paladin to 6 for aura and extra attack. 4- once you get pact of the blade you can fully respec because you wont need str or dex nearly as much, your melee attacks will scale off of charisma at that point.
Lvl 1 paly into 3 lock then rest paly oathbreaker, lvl 7 oathbreaker feature is aura of hate and adds your cha modifier to dmg which is amazing. Which also synergized with potb (you will want to dump str and max con) I'd go up to lvl 8 paly for the second asi and feat. Lvl4 lock for the same asi feat for a total of 3 feats and or asi bonus. Zariel tiefling, for two extra smites. 2h for pam and gwm which leaves one for asi to Cha.
@MeldinX2 Oh yeah, Im starting vengeance and breaking the oath around level 7 for aura of hate. I don't know how they will implement class switch features for the oathbreaker, but in tabletop, you keep all the spells and smites you've already learned before your fall. There's a host of smites and spells you get at before lvl7 I want to retain. Originally, I was going to have 5 levels of lock for the eldritch smite invocation and lvl3 spells, but the extra paly asi kind of outweighs it given I really want pam and gwm.
@@domokun845 Yeah i think you will still have your smites as you did before. I will do vengeance Paladin and try 3 levels of fiend warlock. I will probably try to stay vengeance since i like those subclass features better. But i'm doing Dark urge so i'm not sure if that's possible or if the oath will break if i act on an urge.
@MeldinX2 That would be cool, I really wanted to do a dark urge with this, but based on the latest interview, it sounded like it might railroad you into things and that a tav play was a good first start. Maybe next playthrough, I'll do an assassin shadow monk for maximum edge lol.
@@domokun845 I think the Dark urge will have moments where you lose control over certain aspects and your character will just do something horrible. But i think you can still resist alot of the times. Espacially for bigger story moments. I will try to make a good character while of course sometimes failing and giving in to the urges. I think that will be a quite interesting story even if i lose some player agency. and choice.
Pick classes that have skills or spells that compliment each other ie sorcerer's ability to multiply spell casting and have a chance to auto crit as well as warlocks ability to use control and powerful eldritch blast or paladin and warlocks ability to combo damage and control.
It's probably how I would go for my build (to get both Warlock and Paladin dialogue as early as possible), but from the pure power standpoint, IMO going Warlock 5 is better. It'll make you SAD due to Pact of the Blade, and Warlock 5 is pretty viable on its own. Alternatively, factor respecing in and redestribute your attributes once you can fit in Warlock 5.
I cant say for sure, but there is something missing. Ofcourse 2 weapon fighting isn't something you get with paladin. unless they add it in as a feat with fighter adept or something. Also doesn't most of this stuff use up bonus actions? Another thing I would consider doing multiclasses, is that you are able to respec your character for unlimited times and basically free, and from what i've understood that goes on to you stats as well, Witch mean starting the game with focus on str and paladin, level 3,4,5 you go warlock then respec, and focus charisma, but keep 15 str if you wanna use full plate. I think there is to much overlapping with adding dual wielding to a warlock hexblade, As your offhand attack takes up bonus action, and with out two weapon fighting you only do weapon damage, and pack of the blade only affect your mainhand weapon. And seeing as smite takes up a bonus action at least as long as you don't crit, you damage on the offhand will be 1d6 if you add dual wield you can bost it to 1d8. It might be that great weapon fighting cana trigger on your offhand, but going solo then requires you to keep bless up meaning you should probably have warcaster.
dual wielding without two weapon fighting makes me a little nervous, in EA my pally that was sword and board was missing so much it traumatized me into always wanting as much attack roll bonus as i can get
Two weapon fighting is only a damage boost of 3-4 damage per turn, its significant early but doesn't really matter much when you account for DPR from smites. It's not going to affect your attack bonus, also always make sure you have a bless up from your pally or cleric before going into a fight as that gives you a decent boost to chance to hit
@@KazuYuuu I thought it was way more important for offhand like a 2-4 bonus to just offhand attack roll but looking it up I am not seeing that anywhere oops
Yeah, barbarian/druid is fun for an unkillable early game tank- you can go 2 levels druid, take circle of the moon to wildshape into a bear and then level 3 take a level of barb to rage as a bear and have effectively double health against physical damage. Really good tank build for early game. Barbarian-rogue is also pretty strong if they allow us to use strength with finesse weapons because barbarian can auto proc sneak attack with reckless attack, and barbarian-paladins can still smite while raging for big nova damage. Lots of options!
Had to stop at item discussions. Trying to be as spoiler free as possible. It's impossible not to have heard about Headband of Int, Hag's Hair, etc. but I am keeping it to a minimum.
No worries friend, that's understandable if you want a fresh experience of the game yourself. All you need to know is that you should be hyped for the potential new items because they have really awesome effects that are much different (and better) from dnd 5e
Great video, and Fextralife and Wolfheart revealed that pact of the blade does indeed lets us use charisma!
Does it gives us medium armor, or do we have to dip in melee class for it?
@@celuiquipeut6527 you get medium armor proficiency as a basis of warlock.

Can you test if Lore Bards can still apply Cutting Words on saving throws?

Any recommendations for a Barbarian multiclass for a crazy melee build? Or should I just go Barb only

Barb/Fighter (2,3). For action surge and battle master. Maybe go to 4 for ASI then too.
you missed Watlock on your saving throw proficiences list...
Whoops! Good catch, the Warlock starting saving throw proficiencies qill be Wisdom and Charisma!
Lock bard or lock sorcerer
