I bought this keyboard at auction on eBay, I haven't seen any other UA-camrs buying boards in this way, and maybe now I see why as the description and condition aren't always accurate, but overall it was well worth the money.
It's always great to hear from you guys so let me know your thoughts and experiences in the comments below!

i swear I went this whole video thinking this channel was a big creator but no. Awesome job on the vid mate and the production was amazing. You def earned my sub and keep up the good work.
SAME HERE
Thanks so much! 🙏
Same here, jesus nice video
Also here
now that you mentioned, just notice this guy only under 200 subs. this editing and how clear his voices are, sounds like a 500k subs channel
You sound young and yet your video editing skills are actually fantastic! Self taught? And your additions of safety, mentioning the risk of battery insulation is something many would gloss over not to mention, extremely impressed- and also disturbed to see how few subscribers you have! Shall aid in fixing that.
If you count youtube videos as self taught then yeah I guess so :) Thanks for the sub!
This was absolutely an amazing video from the editing, camera shots, information, and b-roll...im sure there's a hundred times more that goes into these videos and im sorry for my ignorance. Really high quality video it instantly earned my sub! Keep up the great work and im looking forward to new videos
Thank you! Means a lot! :D
you are very underrated. just looking in the description I can tell how long you spent making this video. you just earned yourself a new subscriber. keep up the great work!
Thanks for the sub! A couple of new videos coming soon 🙏

Hey not bad for a new content creator high quality and precise! Earned a sub

I have one of these too, with some new keycaps, lubed switches, thicker foam, pe foam, foamed space bar and o-ring mounted and i love it, such a great board for the price
With gat reds btw
"Smells strongly of strawberries" got me
I have no idea what the previous owner did to it, even after cleaning and washing the case it still stinks! 😂🍓
video was great! was very surprised to see you only have 1k. great editing skills and very entertaining
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
I like the quality of your video. Keep doing this !
Thanks, will do! 😁
You are totally the most UNDERRATED channel on youtube ive EVER seen. Great video btw!
Thank you! 🙏
Well done, great video, you will get many subs just keep pushing!

I just subbed! I had no idea you only had 500 subs, until I saw some comments mentioning it.
Thanks for the sub!
Your vids r satisfying and interesting as someone who normally finds these types of videos boring
I love this video it's kinda calming in a way.
Glad you liked it! 🙂
Underrated channel.

I watched the video thinking it was a big high level channel and its only 781 Subscribers :0. Underrated!! . Good luck with the channel man :)
Thank you! 🙏
Great vid thought this would be a big channel. You deserve more subs
Thank you! 😁
Sounds pretty nice after those mods! Also, it’s pretty hard to believe you only have 99 subs! Your content is pretty awesome 🔥
Thank you! 🙏
good video mate
It's incredibly high level of everything in this video for such a small chanel. Tbh, it would be very good even for big chanel. Good luck. I wish to see you at the top of "keyboard youtube" )))
Thank you! Glad you liked it! 😁
Awesome video. Can't believe there aren't more subscribers.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Just saw ur channel so sad that u only have 1k subs underrated 100%
i actually thought this was a large creator omg. you earned my sub
Thank you! 🙏
Great video, thanks for the tip about the tape mod and the penny mod!
I think its kind of funny that you did not like the orginal keycaps cuz they were cluttered, however the new caps have hiragana on them that definitively will see use(im joshing, i get the aesthetic appeal, and who knows, maybe you actually will use it, i dont know ur life)
I realised the irony a couple of days after I got the keycaps XD although having the both English and hiragana on the top of the keycaps does look cleaner than having characters on both top and sides as the previous keycaps did imo.
Really good vid bro. Keep on grinding. Js became your 19th subscriber! Glad to join u on your UA-cam journey!!
It's been a blast so far! Glad you liked it and thanks for the Sub! 🙏
Pls upload more bro ur so good
Awesome video!
Thank you!
YAH!! Finally someone who has the same keyboard as me and shows me how to lube it and stuff!
underrated channel!!
Good content! Subbed
Thanks for the sub! 🙏
very good i like it!
Thank you! Will do! 😁
This was a helluva of a makeover * o *
I grabbed a $30 Amazon board from a brand called Ractous. Pretty solid for what it is. Only problem is it has optical switches. I made some hybrid optical Holy Pandas (Feker) with the stock Gateron brown bottoms. Added some plate/case foam and it's actually turned out pretty good. It came with some decent PBT pudding keycaps, but they aren't really my style. Trying to decide if I want to spend the extra for looks, but it's already turned out so well I might break down.
Sounds great, it's always fun modding budget keyboards! :D
This video came across my UA-cam feed, and I started watching it thinking “oh cool, another keyboard guy!” I got about halfway through the video when I realized you only have 200 some subscribers. The video quality is top notch, keep this up and your channel is going to explode.
Thank you!
Holy cow theres no way i just found this gem of a channel! thought this was like hipyo level of editing!
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it!
Great video, and your voice is cool man lol
😅 Thanks!
Stumbled across this video - excellent content, you are very clear, articulate and euphonious which makes it a joy to watch/listen to. Clear videos with good instructions and some skillful editing. Keeping doing what you're doing, you'll build those subs in no time.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! 😁
Solid Video
Thanks! 😁
hell yeah keymove snowfox my first fully moded keeb
Good choice! :D
Great video mate, I checked the comments and was shocked to see how small your channel was. Great video, hope the algorithm gives you the boost you deserve to grow your channel!
Thank you!
usually i dont subscribe to youtubers but your videos seem like they are made by youtubers with hundreds of thousands of subs, keep up the good work
Thank you! :)
Excellent video! That keyboard stock sounds identical to my Royal Kludge RK918 I got from a friend. I might go ahead and mod it in a similar way that you did to get a similar effect as I love the final result.
Thank you, glad you like it! Even doing a couple of these mods should really improve the sound of your board :)
Yup same keyboard same sound
No actually i have the rk68, still same sound ahahah
Bruh, this guy deserves more attention, like he’s so good, love the vid and great work man
Thank you! 🙏
I love budget builds! Since I’m a student always having the option to see good budget products really makes me interested. Also I was very impressed with your quality you got a sub!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
nice video! love the enthusiasm! here's some tips I picked up along the keeb journey: don't put your mic on the table, you get 90% bass table sound and it makes all the keebs sound way deeper. also disable your noise filtering filters when recording. hope to see more from you soon!
Great tips, thanks!
Any recommendations for a 60% with brown or red switches in the £40 range?
nice vid 👍
Thanks! 😁
Got this keyboard 2 yrs ago and it's one of the best compact keyboard until now. Don't hesitate to buy one especially if you can get it real cheap. ⌨️👌 Great content man! 🔥
Agreed its a good keyboard especially if you can get it cheap!
Can I put a new pcb in it ? You think any 60% will fit?
Underated keyboard reviewer I thought u had at least over 20K to underrated
Thank you! 🙏
ok so
love ur vid
it was really good.
the deal you got is insanely good.
the mod you did is also really doable for newcomer.
however
with the mod
the stab needs a bit more work.
I know it is just me being nitpicking, but the stab wire really needs to be straightened. and for some reason all of the stab sounds like it got stuck and the switch can't bottom out
the thing also sounds abit hollow, I mean it is 20$. cant ask for much, but try a layer of 2mm thick pe foam between the pcb and the plate to eliminate some of the sharpness sound of the switch bottom hitting the pcb and help with some hollowness. Maybe also re-cut the foam between the pcb and the case.
one more thing
if possible, I suggest that you remind us viewers to put the switch on to the plate and pcb while holding each hot swap pin before mounting it on to the case. because these cheap keyboard hot swap socket are a bit... easy to pop out, and sometimes, it is quite a pain in the a** to solder back on
Thanks for the tips, a couple of people have commented about the stabaizers, I did check and the stabaizer wires were straight and were properly modded so not sure why they don't sound right. Good point about pe foam between the PCB and plate I'll get some. Another good point about holding the hot swap sockets, luckily I don't think that will be an issue for this boad as the pcb is pushed pretty firmly against the case foam but I'll point that out in future videos :)
Remember us before you become popular.
in the future, i would replace the coins and battery with vehicle sound insulation foam. it makes the keyboard more thockey and heavy.
also i love beautiful keycap, but dumbass me with sweaty hands can’t use pretty keycap, it’s either black or grey, so i can only use dolch keycap, at least it has extra blink that just dark black keycap
Hi quick question.
Is the size of the keycaps (letters and punctuation ) the same size?
I've been using a dvorak layout and haven't really find a set of keycap that doesnt look like a mountain when assembled
I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean but there is a good shot of the keycaps at 7:09 and I also have links to amazon in the description if you want to study the keycaps further.
Right, these ones look normal
The set that i bought, when i tilt the keyboard, some keys are quite noticeable lower and taller than the other, more on the symbols side and the rest seems fine.
Thanks anyways👑
use the leobog graywood switches, they sound more creamy and thocky stock too. When lubed it sounds even better
How much did you spend on the aftermarket modifications? Would you recommend going through this process over buying a good, new keyboard for the same total price?
Yeah I would definitely recommend modding a keyboard, for me at least half the fun is the building, plus you get to mod it so its custom made specifically how you like it. Total cost of mods for me was £25 Keycaps + £11 Akko Rose Reds + £6 Jwick Yellows + Total for the rest of the small stuff came to about £5 = Total about £47 (USD=$56 CA=$76)
@@ShiftyKeys Awesome, thanks!
nice video keep it up and remember me when you are viral promise?
I will :D
This is amazing! Could you try to look into a reddragon k617 fizz? Trying to mod it but I'm scared to damage any switches as it's pretty hard to get them off.
Thanks! That keyboard is hot swap so should be a simple case of using a switch puller to remove the switches (use the switch puller to push in the small tags on the side of the switch, then pull up and they should come straight out)
@@ShiftyKeys ty! In this video u used it on tabs on the side of the switches. Is it possible they're on the top and bottom of mine? I think that's where i used my switch puller last time I tried it
your keyboard is deemed to be permanently British now 😂
Dang I need to get me some tape and penny's.
Hmm, good video and good quality of a channel, sir!!! Though there might still need to fix the stabs from what I've heard, like the stabs, the case is still kinda hollow when i hear it closely, but overall pretty good modding on this board ! Hope you get far more subscribers from what you have rn. (Subbed!)
correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure insulating the battery is not what causes a fire hazard but the fact that the tape is probably somewhat flammable is. shorting the battery is what causes a fire hazard
Almost 500 subs in 12 days. It's good content so you deserve more attention for sure.
It's been crazy, I was expecting this many subs in 6 months or more! Thank you! 😁
Is polyfill safe?
aye so I was wondering what is a good thocky and creamy keyboard to buy because i can't really find any and I really need to ask someone with a high level so what is a good thocky and creamy keyboard?
I'm not sure about best pre-built keyboards, but if you were to buy switches and add them to a keyboard I've heard good things about akko creams, akko jelly blacks or gateron ink black switches although they are quite expensive.
@@ShiftyKeys thanks i was going to buy the akko matcha switches and get the RKG68 to mod the RKG68 with some XDA Matcha keycaps tell me if it is good to buy this?
great video, please just on the sound test dont use a mic on the desk, half of it was the vibration through the desk. Otherwise great video got a sub from me dude
Thanks for the sub! (I do now have a mic boom arm so future sound tests should be better)
remember me im your 575th sub.
he only got 711 subs but does vids if he had over a mil keep going u got my sub
Thank you!
I bought this keyboard fo my first build. It was pretty worth it, but in the U.S. I bought it for like 90$ USD though
Yeah I think that's about the normal price, I only managed to get it at a lower price because I bought it used.
You know your custom keyboard that’s 300 dollars is bad when this 30 dollar keyboard sounds better than mine
i thought you had 500k subs or something how are you this underrated
How do you remove the switches at the top of the case.
I did manage to remove them normally it was just super fiddley and often slipped which damaged the switch
1:26 ever tried rotating the switch puller 90-degrees? That's how I pull out the switches.
Hmmm no I haven't tried that, I will give it a go!
@@ShiftyKeys you won't break the switch housing if you lift it from the sides.
subbed
Thank you! :D
If anyone is considering a similar build, I'd recommend the rk68. I got mine for just 60$ CAD (45$ USD/ 37£), I recommend doing the o-ring mod for typing feel.
Any type of o-rings in particular? I got the rk68 too and yeah the sound is kind of meh
@@King0fAss0 Stock it sucks, it's a keyboard you buy if you want to mod. I have Gateron milky yellows and some XDA PBT keycaps on it, aswell as tape mod.
Nice modding
Thanks! :D
nice
IT is good question
Loved your video ! But I don’t u derstand how the coins can help ?
Thanks! I put coins in the base to add weight which helps make it feel more premium and should dampen noise/vibrations because of that extra weight.
@@ShiftyKeys oh thank you! How do you know when you should do it on a keyboard?
It's personal preference but I guess if your board feels too light (cheaper boards are often lighter than premium boards), it may also help if your board has a high pitched sound profile.
@@ShiftyKeys thanks a lot ! 😀
Did the switches affect the rgb?
It will a little but you can see the rough amount it will affect the colour at 1:09 of my lavender purple video.
I thought this was a bigger channel. The editing and stuff is so good.
I do recommend making the sound tests a bit shorter though
And to make like an outro or final statement at the last 10 seconds ish
fifteen subscribers? that makes me like. Angry
This video was so good, so well put together and helpful for someone whos kind of just beginning out like me. top notch, keep it up and thank you
Thank you! Glad you liked it! Since your comment I've gained 12 subs, still a small number but slowly growing :)
@@ShiftyKeysyou deserve like atleast 10k!!
bro you should have left the battery connected, you need to discharge and recharge it once in a cople weeks so it doesn't expand
Yeah that's a very good point and something I didn't consider. I think that issue only happens if the battery is left for an extended period of time on full charge so i'll probably discharge it or maybe remove it altogether.
