Ok. Let’s make an agreement. We who have the adhd superpowers will never let anyone put us down or at least not take it to heart. We have so many strengths others can only dream of. Yes, we learn as we go. We put processes into place as we learn. I wish people could understand how much energy it takes for us to just do “normal” tasks. Exactly he is a great person he has a great dad great wife he provides for his family. What his only crime is he decides to be honest with his viewers and shares how it is to be a real reseller and not covered up and be a fake about it. Everyone makes mistakes. Not everyone is willing to admit to mistakes. I mean really id rather listen to him and the honest and everyday way of resaling then pumped fake expectations. . Way to go Dave keep up the good work. Your last post about shipping errors made ME feel less alone. Previously an eBay top rated seller with my small store (1,000ish), eBay downgraded me after I had to cancel a couple of orders beginning of March. They took away my ability to do promoted listings. My niche vintage needs that. So sales tanked; I posted diligently. eBay phone guy said you’ll get rights restored in May. Short story long: I crisscrossed 2 eBay orders in May. Refunded each one, paid them to ship the items back, and then shipped the correct item on my own dime. eBay…..said my cancellation whatever rate was now too high (must be under 2%; mine 2.16%. I am BELOW STANDARD, suspended from listing ANYTHING. Any listing that expires in 30 days is not autorelisted, just unsold. Now I’m looking at maybe 450 listings going down every day, with no end to the misery till at least July 20.
So….i don’t know how I should’ve done that criss cross differently, but my sales are not enough to even buy inventory. 😢 Your story made me feel better. We are just humans!
Dave, I watch because you are honest and such a happy person. People that attack you truly need to find other things to do. If they want to think it, feel free. But no one has the right to try to steal your joy. You are an amazing dad and friend. It is a joy to watch your interactions.
Dave, I so admire how you prioritize your kids. Trust me.. I lost my son Feb of 2022 to a massive heart attack. He was 42. Spend every single moment you can with your kids for as long as they will let you because you just never know. You seem to be such good parents! Both of you! You are doing the right thing!

Dave, dont change a thing. You are fine just as you are. You aren't a bad reseller- as your title states- i know you are kidding about that- in fact i think you are a good reseller. Hard working, creative, and the best thing is you always have fun doing it. You dont take yourself too seriously. Thats more than i can say for a lot of other resellers. Hey Dave, before I even watch the video,... thank you for the 10 dollars I signed up on mercari through you and Mercari also sent me a 10 coupon, so I bought something that costs 20 and it still cost me 12... but I'm happy. Listed some items on mercari and made my first sale today. ( Ebay is dead ) Thank you for showing me to not be so worried about everything and just go for it!
First off, I would never try to tell another parent how to raise their children. However, (if you haven't already) you might think about asking your kiddos if they would like to help you out there in the garage sometimes. You may find that they actually like it. That silverware sorting is a task that most children would enjoy doing (kinda like a matching game). You never know. Then you get to spend time with the kiddo(s) while working AND getting help. 3 birds, one stone. Just a thought.
I honestly think you are the hardest working YT Reseller (out of the ones that I watch). You have several channels, you do your own sourcing, you're extremely actively involved in parenting, etc. Mistakes are always going to happen and you can put those mistakes front and center for viewers to learn from (and be entertained by) or hide them and be like all of the other YT'ers. Personally, I appreciate self deprecation in a world full of over inflated egos. Thank you for being you.

Cancel orders so far this year: I dropped an ertl and broke the wheel. Lost a pair of jeans found them 3 weeks later. And another I did the Kevin method and sent them a free sticker and refunded so I could keep my top rated thing, it was something that sold over a year before.

Suggestion for golf clubs. If you're buying sets once listed bundle together with cling wrap for storage. If you're buying mostly non sets then put all drivers in a bag/barrel/box and do the same for 3 woods, 5 woods, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 ,PW/A, SW, putters and utility woods each in a separated. Hopefully this may help you organize them better than all jumbled up on a shelf/barrel or however you store now
I once a month I can't find something I have to cancel the order. The best is when I send the wrong item. Realize it later then still get positive feedback. People buy so much nowadays they lose track of what they buy. Haha
Great vid Dave! Here's my spin on the criticism. When I first started watching reseller vids, I watched all of them. I've since whittled em down to just the honest ones (you, Kevin, Lonnie, etc.). I don't waste my time with sunshine and rainbows.

Also, don’t let the haters comments take any of your brain space! A good friend of mine once told me, “other people’s opinions of you is NOT your business!” People all have opinions…take the constructive portions to help you become a better Dave, and throw the rest in the trash! I personally love watching EVERY bit of your videos…with your mom, kids, Tina and even dawn and Cary, even if you say all their names 1000x! You include everyone in all you do…that is rare these days! Too many people are out for their own good and are so exclusive. Don’t change how you treat your friends and family! I love how you even include and encourage your kids…another factor that’s missing these days! Be encouraged and know that your true supporters and watchers love your channels just as they are! 🥰 You and Tina just stand strong together and know that only your opinions matter between the two of you!

My boyfriend, Jerry and I just wanted to say we love how real and raw you are. We love to hear about your mistakes. You are the reason reselling didn't sound so overwhelming as before it seemed too scary for us to get into. We just dabble at this time. You also made me realize I have ADHD and I really like that you are so open about it. Anyone who has adhd knows that there is ALWAYS a possibility a task goes undone, but eventually a person does get around to finishing it. I went to comment today under this video, but remembered I needed to cook something and then remembered I wanted to clean some dolls and so an hour later I finally posted this comment 😊 We also still plan to send you a Canadian care package.

Hey Dave! So glad to hear your issues with the Samsung phone. I have the S22 Ultra and it has been the worst phone I have ever used for ebay photos. The "smart AI" for photographs is absolutely horrible. It constantly moves out of focus even when completely still. I can only photograph at 3x magnification or closer because anything more zoomed out stays blurry. I absolutely hate this thing for ebay photos and I've done hours of internet searching to try to fix it and have come up with nothing. My old HTC phone from 10 years ago takes better photos. A total disappointment. If anyone has tips, please share!

My husband has ADHD. I understand your (and especially Tina's) dilemmas. My way with him is a whiteboard and a list. I list even the most minute details and try to help him prioritize. Somedays it works, somedays, not so much, haha. It's all about ME having patience and understanding and him not selling himself short. People who "reprimanded" you don't understand ADHD. People will ALWAYS be quick to judge instead of worrying about their own house.

Hey Dave, just wanted to chime in a say you are a great father and husband! Also tip: on the UPS and Fed Ex collab (sure post and some other name) with USPS- if it has a USPS barcode you can drop it at the post office too. I didn’t realize this until a couple months ago when I asked my post office lady. So now it’s all one stop- unless of course it’s directly thru FedEx or UPS.

Yes, I’ve had to cancel several orders on eBay for various reasons. Honestly, it’s just part of the game of reselling. We all make mistakes and you just deal with it. I have started reaching out to the buyer asking them if they wanted to cancel or if they wanted another item in place of it when I couldn’t ship. It’s been a workaround for outright canceling, so it won’t always hurt my account.
There always has to be someone out there who thinks he knows more!!

I've been selling on eBay for over 25 years and I've been a full-time reseller for 3 years as of June 1st:
1. I ship the wrong item about once a year.
2. I cancel orders less than once a year
3. I've never double sold an item
4. I've broken less than 5 items in all the years I've been selling on eBay
5. I've never shipped an item late. All orders are shipped in less than 24 hours
You are correct. No one is perfect, but I also think you're not realizing the severity of your mistakes. Maybe your ADHD is so problematic that being a full-time reseller is not a good fit, especially when you have a young family depending on your success. Maybe you need a job that feels like a job because it keeps you on point. Maybe you need a boss to keep you on task. Did you have these same issues with your last job? Were you forgetting to make important phone calls or answer critical emails? Were you finishing tasks 3 weeks late?

people who expect everything to be perfect all the time are annoying. Its nice to see someone who can admit they made a mistake, rectify the mistake, and move on. you did what you could do to fix it. Hey Dave. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 57. I'm not a doctor, but from my experience, here are a few thoughts. If you haven't been properly diagnosed by an experienced, knowledgeable doc, you might consider it. You could have ADHD, but it could be something else. If it is definitely ADHD, then there are non-amphetamine drugs you can take that help reduce ADHD symptoms. One of them, guanfacine, is a "two-fer," a blood pressure med that also treats ADHD. If you have high blood pressure, that might be a good choice to discuss with a doc. ADHD tends to get worse as we get older, so getting diagnosed and treated now could help you later on, too. Keep up the good work and keep having fun!
Dave has said in previous videos that he's known he has ADHD since he was a kid, and is also on a medication for said.
He behaves like someone on amphetamines and am wondering if he is medicated and why he can constantly function at this level... I am in my early 50s now, never meditated for ADHD, and now my 30 year retail collectibles store is spiraling out of control, where i hardly show up and its a hoarders looking disaster inside now... I want to resell online but cant function or focus enough to get going, and fear I will immediately fail with deadline responsibilities from distractions... i am very concerned what it will be like when im 60... im also 3 years behind in my taxes...so how can Dave do all this??!!?

See a qualified doc. At least try one of the non-amphetamine meds. Also, ADHD psychologists can you with behavior modification to prevent distraction from wreaking havoc in your life. Good luck to you.
in the camera setting there is an option to record a quick clip with every photo. if its blurry just press the play button on the photo and usually the last frame is the clear shot and hit the screenshot button on the camera. i've never had to get the item to retake a photo.
Don't let the negative people get to you, I love watching you and some people just aren't happy unless they're putting someone else down. If they don't like you, why are they watching you?? I love your honesty, I'm fairly new to reselling and seeing someone else makes mistakes makes me realize I'm not the only one and mistakes are going to happen, it's how you deal with them that matters and you're doing a good job.

I believe my ideas are clever and insightful. I also fall in love with overhauling systems, hyperfocus on a category or subject, accept my failures at break neck speed and still have a positive attitude. I also can work from morning until evening and can't sit still unless I'm hyperfocused.
What commenter's don't get, and won't read this far, is what an incredible work ethic you have.
It is your superpower, to keep pushing forward.

Cancelled 2 orders last year on EBAY, a Christmas stocking for $45 mouse chewed hole, and after the shipping change someone ordered a 8 dollar trinket box free shipping and would have cost me almost 10
Hi, I think the last time I had to cancel an order on eBay or anywhere because I didn't have the item was about 3 years ago. Just got to tighten up your processes. However i think cross-posting even with an app can lead to some of these issues. I've tried cross posting I just don't like it Plus I come from the computer software world and I just don't trust it to delist my items. I do sell a Poshmark and mercari but those items live there only and they have their own spot on my shelving system.
You recognize that you make mistakes - that is the first step. The question is what are you going to do about it? Making a mistake once is fine but if you repeat the same error you need to look at your process and try something new.
Why not use some painter's tape on your golf clubs and create a unique sku for them? I bought some Americana Heritage silverware and sold it in 2 days. Great sale.

I have not had to do a cancellation of a sale on ebay because I am very Paranoid!! However I have spent HOURS searching for a sold item that I could not find!! Many Times I have had that happen, I just got lucky and eventually found the item in time to ship it. So now I am very paranoid about placing my listed items where I can find them so it does not happen often anymore. I think all resellers go thru that. And for me 8 items sold in a week is a good week. I only have 150 items listed. I hope it picks up for you soon. Diane
I do not cancel eBay sales. Ever. I’d ship something and then give them a full refund explaining I was sorry for the inconvenience.

I've only had to cancel 1 order in 3 years because of an error in the listing. Have had 1 INAD for same reason. So 2, my bads in 3 years. I've only sold 1,500 items though.
I don’t understand why other people find the need to put others down when they’re already understanding that they did something wrong. Saying this as Someone who is medicated for ADHD and still suffers from many symptoms. I’m guessing that people just don’t understand how hard it actually is to have ADHD.

Have you tried checklists? Maybe a whiteboard with boxes for every platform you need to check daily.
Having adhd requires putting processes in place. Which in turn will become habits. In a world where multi purposing is touted strength many of us need to get back to basics and focus on one thing at a time
I find it rude to complain about your personal appearance and your ADHD. I have adult children with it and it honestly makes me angry on your behalf. I think if people can't comment without being unkind and rude you should delete their comments. If they want to give ideas and constructive ways to help that's fine up to a point. You are not on UA-cam to be abused by those that are unhappy with their own life. This of course is just my opinion. 🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩
Dave just do you ,that’s why I’m here I have autism and I find your videos interesting as I’m on a reselling journey . It was gardening two years ago it might change again soon as I’m not good at it. I don’t make much money but I have a job to pay my bills so not a problem.
I’ve definitely had to cancel a few orders 😅😅😅.
