I rode 68 miles today. My new goal is... to FUEL properly. A small protein only breakfast at 7am, ride at noon with gels and chews are not a good way to fuel. I bonked at mile 60. There was no gas left in the tank.
Wishing you a healthy happy 2024 with great cycling adventures some new bikes and that amazing trip to Panama and running 2 x 6 miles weekly wow God keep you and yours safe all year long D.
In Dolomiti: sportful grandondo. And if you can put up a team or join a team a 24h event around the medieval town of Feltre. Beautiful. Waiting for you!
I really appreciate your input on cycling. I’m a 73 years young nearing 74 and I’m trying to slowly get back in shape after a pacemaker surgery/ shoulder surgery. Please keep up channel because I love it. FYI I’m a former athlete who can’t stop. ❤
Hi, thanks for you videos! You are one of my UA-cam friends. Check out the Builder Marinoni out of Montreal. They’re a small frame building outfit started by Mr. Marinoni maybe 50 years ago. He is 92 and a friend just saw him building a frame a few months ago. I have had 3 of their bikes. The best ride. The know how to put mojo into the ride. Last may I ordered a custom Columbus spirit tubing road frame with a columbus fork and FSA headset for $1350 US. I had the frame in my hands in 4 weeks. They’re rig welded . N+1
Love the channel Luis! I have a 1991 Serrota Legend Ti that was my first “forever” bike. I get her a face-lift, a tummy-tuck, and a new pair of shoes every few years and she’s as ride relevant today as the day I bought her 33 years ago…I find that keeping the wheels and drive train up to modern performance standards are the key!
Yes sir! I have a garage full of Serottas, just a few months ago I found a minty Fierte IT frameset, I love it, slapped some Campy Record 12 on it and really enjoying it...I know Luis loves his Campy!
Thank god that frame is to big for me, I cannot image that'll last long. It's gorgeous. Happy New Years! If you're going out to bu new stuff maybe give some thought to an ovalized chainring. I used to ride them but sold the bike I had with them on. It was great to have no dead zones in the pedal stroke.
I’m an expat here in N.E. Italy 🇮🇹 and am 44 this March. I’m an avid enthusiast for outdoors activities including cycling. I’ll send you some potential rides from my area- Maybe we can ride together??
Hey Luis, thanks for your content! Wanted to leave you a note about ti frames - used, there have been other comments if you can find a Serotta Legend Ti with a 1-1/8” headtube, I think you’d enjoy it. I’ve also built with waltly and would love to see your build and decisions especially if you stick with rim brake. I plan on doing another build with them with db tubing and rim brakes as well!!! Good luck with the goals this year - I’ll keep tuned in!
If you want a modern take on 'metal' that's still a bit different from your Bianchi, you might want to consider stainless steel frame, instead of Ti. Reynolds 953 or Columbus XCR custom build or of the shelf. When built well, they do feel very, very nice and comparable to Ti in weight
Great video Luis, I think you should come down under to Australia for a ride. There are several events throughout the year, that take place in the state of Queensland where I live. I live in a sub-tropical region of Australia, it is very similar to Florida but with hills. If you are wanting to explore Australia and specifically Queensland, let me know and I can give you more information. All the best, mate.
Sage Canaday is my go-to UA-camr for running content. Have used his training plans with good results and some late middle age PRs. Would like to see a Litespeed build and get your thoughts, they are on my short list of vendors for a long term bike. Thanks
I'd recommend Mosaic RT-1 or RT-2 ... Also, bring spares for the GF O2O ... And tools ... Prepare for rain and heat, a local is advising ... Plenty of rain June-July, you should know ... Good Luck, I will skip it this year ... Other plans
Was looking through ebay and saw your bike a few weeks ago. I thought to myself wow this looks just like that youtubers bike! And when i read the description it was! Unfortunately its also too big for me otherwise i would of taken a really hard look at it. Im in the market for a steel bike influenced by your takes on the material. I currently have and only ride titanium (4 in the stable) and wise to experience a good steel frame in my size.
Would love for you to come down to Australia some day. Plenty of events take place here throughout the year with something for everyone. Just keep in mind the weather difference! It's summer here these days :) Get a great wealth of knowledge from this channel - as a new (little over a year into cycling) rider, hearing experienced riders talk always brings up random little tips and tricks that a newbie would have never thought of! Looking forward to your content in 2024. All the best!
It's been a while,so it's probably because Luis and his crew have been getting ready for the Spring Classis and then the Tour..Luis said he will win 10 stages and his team will win the rest.Luis will personally build all of the team bikes and then warm up by running 40 marathons. Ok,JUST KIDDING...Now you're talking my language when you talked about track. That's one of my wheelhouses..Since I am older, it used to be the 100 /200 yard dash, sometimes on gravel, like the Pelham Bay Park track used to be. Then I just did the 100m,200m, triple jump, long jump, and then my absolute favorite, the 4x100 relay. If you can support one another and especially the youth, so all this effort, knowledge, and experience does not die with us..
Awesome updates for the year Louis and happy new year 😊 love the idea of the titanium build I have a titanium genesis, 2 steel (condor and genesis) and 1 ally (caad10) great bikes 😊 look forward to your 2024 vids bro.. 👍🚴🏻🚴🏻Pete
Good luck with whatever you do this year Luis👍. I like your new kicks as well. I’ve been riding a pair of Crono CR1s for a few years now and love them! Enjoy
Looking forward to your titanium build. Few months ago, I lucked out and bought 2004 Seven Alaris SG, it came with a Shimano Ultegra group set (most up to date tech on the bike).
I LOVE this channel! I have an older custom to frame, and just love that bike. But after having a couple of surgeries, I can no longer ride tht bike, and like you, have been thinking about another. I'm excited about you looking for a ti frame, so will definitely be watching for that. Thanks for sharing!
Looking forward to the Ti bike build . If you could talk about the different types of steel and your recommendations for a particular type of steel frame that'd be brilliant. My goal is to have either a custom steel frame and fork or buy a very good quality ready made one that would fit me perfectly 👍
@@thegoodwheel Thanks a lot. Also the Titanium frame is ready and going to be shipped. So far pretty smooth process with Waltly. Lets see how it rides.

Yeah, it really needs a good home👍🏾
My goal is to ride more. It was a pleasure meeting and riding with you at the Winter Unity Ride. Thanks for your content.
Riding more is my goal as well. The Unity ride was an amazing event👍🏾
@@thegoodwheel yes sir. Hope to share the road with you again this year. Hopefully I'll be good enough to keep that 20mph pace. 😆
Luis make the trip to North Georgia and try the 6 Gap. LOTS of climbing.
I am there often and have done the three gaps... but it's time to return and document it👍🏾

Join me in the hillclimb classic race Chur-Arosa in Switzerland! 29km / 1191m. Just building up a titanium road bike exactly for this. Cheers
That is steep!!! Switzerland is definitely on the bucket list👍🏾

Hi, Luis....thanks for you videos - Gilmar - Brasil
Hi Gilmar!
I won't even consider a bicycle with a longer top tube than what I know I like. It always ends up with regrets.
Thanks for watching 👍🏾
Hope you've been doing well Lu. hope to see you on a ride soon. I've been wanting to catch up and get your thoughts on a Spezia Fi build.
Hey Abel! Yes sir, all is well. I see you putting in work for your 200 miler. I'll see you soon👍🏾
Luis where can I find more information on the GF Panama? Love your videos.
You can follow them on Instagram @gf_panama
Hope to see you again at One Love Atlanta and get to chat with you this time!!!
Let's do that. I'll definitely be there👍🏾
Just get a Frameworks bike and call it a day.
👍🏾
What do you think of Merlin Titanium?
They are great. A bit pricey, but 👍🏾

you could do the Ford Ride London....
I'll have to look it up!
Great channel! Where can I buy that red carrying case for my road bike.. Oh, good ideas for carrying cases?
Hi! Thanks for watching. That was from Probikekit.com pro bike kit. Not sure if they still carry it.
Thank you
I run a Beautiful charity ride in Baltimore every summer. You should come and join us!
