Great Bill. I spend too many hours cyber-flying over fishing spots. If you saw my GMaps and all the "star" marks of spots to check out and spots I already have it looks like the night sky with no ambient light. I'm talking stars all around L.I., stars up on the Finger Lakes (Pike), stars up in Pulaski (Steelhead), lots of stars down in the lower Delaware and the Potomac tributaries (Snakehead), more stars on the Chesapeake (spring migration). Of course Cape Cod is all starred up with a line of stars spanning the Canal. And then there's Florida... Stars on all the canals (Snakehead and Snook), down in the Keys, etc. I spend too much time on Google Maps. But it's the idea of finding that spot that might produce that keeps us coming back, right?
One tip for anyone reading this is something I do when I actually find a spot that looks juicy. I'll click on the nearest street and actually use the "street view" to look at the parking situation. You can actually zoom in on the signs and everything. I'll always make sure I can find good, legal parking before I mark a spot. Anyway... Another "troubled mind" at work. Tight lines brother.

I love google maps too . I feel like a pirate scoping out my desired adventure regions of where I will hunt the fish as my treasure hahaha.

How do you feel about fishing and lightening? I was fishing the north shore last night and packed up all my gear but by the time I got home, it was much better.
Lighting and fishing do not mix. Standing in the water with a lightening rod in your hand is not a good idea! Been in a lot of crazy stuff myself. If you are a surf rats ball member do a search on lightening. Fun reading!

Use google maps in conjunction with the navionics app. Navionics is more accurate and up to date.
