Hi. If you use clips then take off the split ring from the very front. I also recommend single hook in the back or take the back hook off entirely and in the middle use split ring to a swivel to a split ring to 3/0 treble hook. You’ll get further cast and fish don’t get the leverage when being reeled in or handled. Cheers!
I sold all my plugs. I only use 2 lures now, diamond jigs and Hopkins. They can be fished at any level in the water coluum and retrieved at any speed and jigged as well. Plugs are niche lures. They can only be fished on the surface or slightly below. Plastic and wood are good, but you always win with tin. PS: get rid of those crappy treble hooks. Does more damage to the fish and are a pain to take out.
What is it they say about lures? They catch more fisherman than they do fish. I absolutely believe that to be true. 20 bucks says the guy who's got hundreds invested in lures probably catches fish with 3 or 4 of them. The rest of them "look really cool" during the retrieve, but produce *zero* fish. I got suckered into all that as a dumb novice, unfortunately. Looking back, I could have spent less than a hundred dollars and had every lure I'd ever need to catch fish from the surf.
Why do people with van staal with Lamiglass, stormr Jacket, gear up surf bag and wader are so arrogant? They would walk around and tell others people that the spot is belong to them. Even if they come late, it is like everywhere is their spot. And when they hook up the fish, it is like adding 50% more arrogant toward their original arrogant. Is it that special to hook up a striped bass? Why can’t some people just be nice and share some of the knowledge like Bill W and John Skinnier???

I use it in place of a clip. Gives the plug increase action.

Yes I do.. remember I am almost always guiding one or two anglers.
I noticed that some of your plugs have leader line on them. May I ask why no clip?

I do not use clips and tie direct to the split.
I find that the SPs cast like crap they are all over the place I added weight in them but still all over what do you suggest .
I just disagree with you. I think they are an excellent casting minnow. Probably the best out there for casting. I don’t bother loading them.

Lots of arrogants out there, but there are lots of friendlies as well!
