I'm surprised you don't pack a knife on yours. I carry my 3 tube plug bag, boga, knife, and VS pliers. I used to have more but i've pared down significantly over the years. I also have a long lanyard i use as a rod leash when swimming.
Years ago I was fishing with a buddy during a sand eel bite. A few days before we were talking and he couldn't understand why i carried a large knife on me. The night we got into that bite, my buddy caught a high teen fish which proceeded to flop around and get entangled and hooked to his waders. He was unable to pull the treble free from his waders. It needed to be cut out which I was able to do with my knife. Hence the importance of carrying a knife.
I wear a 2 tube bag, soft plastic pouch, Boga and pliers- I hate carrying the bag all on my belt- I was in the Marines, having a fighting belt feels normal
@@BillWetzel As someone who fly fishes mainly with size 14-20 dry flies, I can't say I have experience cutting something as girthy as a 5x hook. Titanium is quite hard and does a lot of the work for you. The ones I use have a more lengthy head of which the majority can be used to grip and the cutting piece is more near the joint
@@BillWetzel You should search youtube for 'proectfarm us vs german pliers" and watch that video. He goes over a bunch of different brands and price points, you might find a good replacement. I bought the Irwin ones he suggested that were like $20 and they work amazing well for it he garage. Worth a few minutes to watch though. Good luck to you this season. Edit: also fluid film might be a good substitute for grease
“You don’t want it flopping in the wind” best line all day
REALLY LOVE your "stupid" videos. Have watched them all. Many look up to you in surfcasting.
I got the same belt yesterday from Steve. Great guy very knowledgeable.
Hey Bill once you clean up the Manleys get urself some fluid film and spray them down. A lot less mess than grease and the won’t rust
That gaff holder was originally designed and made by Frank Steiner Nj.
Awesome pic in the back.. 👍🏻
A fashion show I'm still laughing.....Fish on

Knife is a good idea, especially if you swim. I rarely find the need to swim.
@@BillWetzel I sometimes do laps in the pool. Does that count? LOL

@@fishermansmobileweighstati3645 I agree. Should probably carry a small knife. At least I’ll have protection. From the aliens. Maybe this year?

I'm surprise you don't use titanium pliers/snips. Who wants to deal with grease. Always enjoy your videos
I have not found anything as good as the Manley at cutting 5x hooks. Got something?
