No lie, his performance and accent usage was so on point that he could actually follow the formula and potentially make a hit country song in todays standards. Which is what really nails his point of the parody, Bo doesn't have a country bone in his body just like some of todays artists.

    • @suffireax

Exactly! He proved his point so well because this literally could be a hit on the radio, he nailed the formula.

He actually played a satirical country star in Parks and Rec, and it's essentially taking the concept of this song and playing it up even more.

Fun fact: This song was inspired by a character Bo played when he guest starred on an episode of Parks and Recreation a couple years prior. The character was a caricature of the kind of country singer he’s satirizing in this song, named Chip McCapp.

I’m loving your bo reactions so much, but you definitely need to take the time to watch the entirety of Inside (if you haven’t already) including the talking bits, songs, visuals, etc the whole thing. i think since you’ve seen quite a bit of him from his old specials and then watching inside now will really give you a crazy new perspective of how he was feeling behind the scenes, and opposed to going in watching inside blind without any prior knowledge of him. you can really see how hes grown since. knowing his past and the songs he wrote really open so many doors to some deeper meanings of what his new special was about. realizing he wrote "Cant Handle This" then disappeared for 5 years and came back to the internet with inside especially with the song "All Eyes On Me" gives me goosebumps. id sit through an hour long video of you reacting to inside 100%. Keep the videos coming. I’m loving it

    • @Kerrigore2
      @Kerrigore2 3 роки тому +1

I'd love to see that too, but I think the trouble with reacting to the special in its entirety is that UA-cam/Netflix is a lot more likely to block the video. Chopping up little bits here and there isn't as much of an issue, especially if it's content that they've already put up on UA-cam anyway and if you pause occasionally or mess with the video. I don't think I've seen anyone react to Inside in its entirety without cutting most of each song/bit out. He'd probably have to submit his reaction without the video embedded and then tell people to watch the video separately, but that makes is awkward AF to have any pauses.
I wish UA-cam would figure out a better solution for this sort of thing, maybe some kind of deal with Netflix to verify subscriptions before allowing people to view it.

I loved your country rant and I'm glad you reacted to this song. I'm from a tiny tiny farmtown in the midwest and this parody song kinda sums up why I don't like mainstream country that much. The line "I write songs for the people who do jobs in the towns that I'd never move to" really hits the nail on the head most for me. A lot of people just inherently look down on what it's like to live a rural lifestyle, yet still rake in the money from the farms and blue collar jobs that people depend on.
As always, thank you for the video. I love your interpretations and thoughts :)

I love how you really deep dive into every video you react to and try to actually analyze the words and take note of the subtle things that enhance the story being told (little movements and gestures, how the music itself melds with whatever's being said.) I find very few reaction channels take the chance to do so, so its very refreshing.
If you're taking suggestions other than Bo's music, id be curious to see your view on the song Self by Robert Grace.
If you're still looking for suggestions on Bo's music, I'd recommend Nerds or Channel 5 News. Although i dont think they have any performances of the songs, so maybe not something you could react to, but none the less id be curious to hear your take on them.
Edit: Also i know its a really weird thing to comment on, you have great posture and im very impressed.

Well thank you, I am glad to hear that cause that is exactly what I try to do, I didn't want to just be another reaction channel that bobs along, says three words, and then ends the video. I wanted to add to the song or give a new perspective, so I am glad to hear that I am doing that :)
Hahaha my posture is actually something I am trying to work on, part of the reason why I am standing instead of sitting. And my hands behind my back help remind me to keep my shoulders back

While I understand this song's premise and will agree on some level. It's also important to keep in mind that as time passes, styles change. If you think back there was once a time when other country artists and country fans used to criticize Garth Brooks when he was on his way up, for having the kind of concerts he would have which were much more showy and more of a spectacle then what was typically done by most country performers at the time. But eventually thoughts, ideas and expectations changed. Maybe because Garth's concerts were some of the most entertaining shows you could see. And people would be flocking to his concerts in record numbers. And if we are being fair, performers pandering to a particular audience is what they all do. That is how they build up a fan base. It doesn't necessarily mean they aren't being genuine, at least not in all cases. Giving the audience the show that they want to see and saying the words they want to hear is the name of the game, is it not?

Have you heard of Upchurch? He has a song "Said F*ck It" that's pretty much looking down on the new country songs and the producers.

I live about 15 minutes away from Leesburg, GA where Luke Bryan is from and am old enough to know a little bit about him before he got famous. To address your comment about you don't know if he came from a farm or not, the truth is this area is very farm/agriculture heavy. I don't doubt that at some point in his life he was driving a tractor or working on a farm, but him and Cole Swindell another country singer (who went to my high school) have assimilated into the cookie cutter pop/country genre. I'm pretty diverse with my music tastes, but their music is just a recycled cash grab just like Bo describes, the people here eat it up though, it's just not for me.

I think you could say this about HipHop, too. Guys singing about how they have to hustle every day, get "bitches" and "booty" even though they have been happily married for 10 years and live in a mansion.

Jokes aside, if you guys want to hear some real good country music i highly suggest Lucero's self titled album... The one from 2001.
Now that's the good shit right there.

Hey Suffi, have you ever heard of The White Buffalo? He's really good. Not very mainstream though.

Hey Suffi, you should check out "4 Chords" by Axis of Awesome on YT ... It basically shows how so many songs (a ton of genres) over the years use the exact same 4 Chords because it is so well liked by our brains. I know we only have so many combination of chords, but it's absolutely INSANE. 44M views on YT, so you've probably seen it. Came out in 2011 and it's really worth a watch either on your channel or on your own if you have never seen it. There is also the live version with 68M views

I have actually never seen that video but it makes perfect sense and I always kinda thought there had to be something behind what melody or chord progression people responded to most or best. So that is very interesting to hear there is actually a whole video on it!

@@suffireax It's literally them just performing, but it just going on and on and on ... so you start thinking how ridiculous it is and kind of start laughing to yourself not realizing that all these songs you have heard in your life have the same type of chord progression. I go back and listen to it every so often, because it still just blows my mind lol

ngl i rock out to that key chain every time too. music is music man! even animals respond to music. i know 100% pop songs are cheap pricks manipulating me with certain catchy beats humans just can't help but jam to. [if you haven't seen bo's "Repeat Stuff" video, it is 🔥!]
but in the end what can you do you? if a key chain gives your spirit a caffeine kick, ride that wave brother! humans are meant to rock out! ...the killers were right; we're dancers.
