Hey guys! Sorry for the randomness of this video. We filmed this in the summer just after our trip to Poland and before we went to the UK. We just releasing it now so hope you enjoy it! We'll be heading to Austria next. Also, we just started a NEW Spanish UA-cam channel if any of you would be interested in checking it out: ua-cam.com/channels/D6d0LAeU8Ye51cxWGuPW4g.html

This is one of my favorite vlogs. I don't know how I missed this one until now!
Thank you! It was a really fun to be back in Germany a bit last year.
I'm moving to Düsseldorf this week, thank you for sharing!
Thanks Reya! Wishing you the best.
And how do you like it here now?
though you went to Uerige, one of the really good breweries in Düsseldorf, you missed the Füchschen in the Ratinger Strasse - they've also got a wonderful beer, even own ice cream made of beer and some of the best classic german cuisine for an affordable price.
Right nearby is the Ratinger Tor - the original "entrance" to the city from the days of Napoleon. That's where he entered the city around 200 years ago.
You should also mention the Aquazoo, right next to the Nordpark with a huge japanese garden - maintained by the japanese community in Düsseldorf (the biggest japanese colony in Europe btw.)
If you're into skiing - just skip right over the rhine to Neuss and you'll find an indoor skiing track.
Or, if you prefer some more historic and classic history lessons, head down to Benrath and visit Schloss Benrath or the museum of nature and history right within the manor.
Back in the Altstadt, the best ice cream can be bought at Pia in the Kasernenstrasse, whereas the best hot chocolate or chocolate in general can be obtained at Gut&Gerne at the Burgplatz.
And, on the Königsallee, you'll find "Heinemann" - with delicious cake, the world's best champagne truffles. If you're into trying out the different kinds of bread, go and step by at "Hinkel" in the Altstadt. Both of these stores are well-known for their craftmanship and usage of only organic ingredients.
Thank you for all of the wonderful suggestions! I hope we can revisit again soon :)
Thanks alot for your tips!!!

Currywurst is just German sausage and curry+ketchup sauce.
Cool! Do try it if you get the chance. It is so good. I loved it the first time I tried it and I've only grown to like it more and more.

"You are spider woman....how to do u feel?.".... " I feel like a construction worker"....omg audery u r so funny.....all the Indian food is making my mouth water......the canal looks so perfect for a evening spring walk....free public library???? Wooowww that's so cool....my favorite two thing-insta pics and books...awesome video guys...keep up
Thank you very much! Hehehe...we sure do have random things to say quite often ;)
Wow, the camera quality looks incredible! Is that a new camera or is it because you're shooting mainly still shots?
Thank you very much! Well, the best worst thing happened when my Olympus broke. It sucks when technology fails randomly but I had my eye on the Panasonic GH5 and getting it a bit earlier than I expected has been a blessing in disguise. I'm really enjoying the colors, contrasts and variable frame rates (slow motion) so far. It has really opened up some new ways for us to film and also it has made me more excited to be shooting.
Lovely Video! Thank you for charing. If you wan't to do something compleatly new (next time you'r in town) I can teach you how to sew in just 2 hours! See you soon in one of my Enlish sewing classes in Düsseldorf/Flingern. Take care!
Thank you very much!
You definitely have to visit "Bob&Mary" in the Oldtown or Media Harbour! Best burgers in town! But I'd recommend you to reserve a table online, if you're planning to visit the restaurant by lunch or dinner
Thank you for sharing that Walter! Hope we can check it out next time.
@@samuelandaudrey You're welcome! Working there as waiter and I got much good feedback from Amercian guests. Just notice me or leave a PM if you'd like to reserve a table
(Walter is just a nickname)
Guys! Once again you are helping me out with my next trip. I'm going to Cologne and Dusseldorf. Thanks guys!
Thank you! Hope you have a great time :) You'll have to let us know about Cologne. We've yet to visit :)
Great video! Did you guys see Bourdain's Parts Unknown episode in Cologne and Düsseldorf? Also, have you visited Bamberg? I highly recommend it.
Thank you! Oh, we haven't but we've seen some of his shows for sure. Oh, Bamberg. Maybe the next time we visit Germany.
Your accents are the best!
LOL, our Canadian accents?
It’s a deviled egg lol I like how they made it tho
Thanks!
hello Sam and Audrey , it is a awesome video i like to watch haha , i have a question to ask , when the video use slow motion sometimes , it is so smooth, that is set in 4K shooting ?or 1080P in higher frame ? thank you :D
Thank you very much! I got a new camera not too long ago when my Olympus broke and my new camera a Panasonic GH5 has some really cool slow motion frame rates including, 90, 120, 150 and 180. I'm using 180 a lot on a custom dial (the camera has 3 custom dials) meaning I have it preset already to the exact slow motion settings I want and I just have to press the record button and it works like a charm. Honestly, this is by far my favorite camera I've ever owned. I'm really happy with the colors, contrast and slow motion ability. It is such a big upgrade over the camera I used to have. I'd highly recommend it :)
Poutine! Our son loves the stuff...
Oh, so do we. So tasty :)
All you guys do is eat XD loved the video, new subscriber here 🙋🏽♀️
Hahaha...this is true Silvia! Welcome and thanks for subscribing!
What's wrong with eating...? :)
I hope one day I will come here
Hope you can! It is a cool city.
You also should have taken the boat on the Rhine River to Kaiserswerth.
Oh, great suggestion! I hope we can next time.
@@samuelandaudrey Yes please, the (far) north of Düsseldorf has also nice old towns and idyllic landscapes! Basically everything north of the airport thats still part of Düsseldorf is worth seeing. But go further north and you reach Duisburg, which is basically Germany's Detroit^^ (Not all that bad tho) Living in this part of Düsseldorf actually feels like town life, with very good connections to a beautiful city.
As a local I acutally like the contrast between Düsseldorf and Duisburg (and the rest of the cities in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan area). I also like the spirit of the mix of huge worn down industrial hubs and new green city development which is happening in the whole region right now.
We will visit Duesseldorf this summer 2019. I hope to do more than just eat. Any suggestion from the locals?
We read it too late for you. But if anyone else reads this: Feel free to visit our website www.videoguide-duesseldorf.de, it's in english as well. You'll find all important sightseeing spots there. Adresses, entrance fees, opening times and much more.
Having never been attracted to Germany as such, no hard feelings, I think it is a testament to your skills that I felt entertained and even intrigued - grats....:-)......that squirming Jazz singer was sorta cool and Audrey, before, and not least during her "incredible feats of spiderman talents" was hilarious, endearing even...so, how come Sam didn't do the gentelmanly thing and don the suit.....that would have gone viral....:-)
Hahaha...thanks! Oh my, that concert was good. Too bad we just caught the tail end of it. Oh, that would have been way too much spidey for one video! ;)
Did you change the camera? The video looks better than before!
Thank you! Recently my Olympus bit the dust and I ended up replacing it with a Panasonic GH5. I have to say it was a rather happy misfortune as I'm loving the camera. Honestly, the way it captures colors + slow motion capabilities is really enhancing what we can do these days filming wise.
I live in Düsseldorf 😄
Very cool to hear!
When will you come to north Germany?
How does Dusseldorf compare to Hamburg and Cologne what City would you recommend I visit ?
I'm from Scotland, I visited Düsseldorf for the first time this week. I did not like the divide between the super wealthy who shop in the expensive stores while ordinary people could only stare in the window, anyway who needs a 35000 Euro watch or a 2000 Euro Handbag, someone who is vain, arrogant and has a very high opinion of themselves? A person I would avoid. Better to use the clock on your mobile phone. The 25 minute return train to Cologne cost 31.30 Euro which is at least twice what a similar distance would cost in Scotland. Now for the good points I enjoyed the parks, the mixture of old and modern architecture , the Rhine was lovely on a sunny day and the various modes of transportation was was good. The proximity to Cologne was good and affordable accommodation was available, the streets were clean enough and the people were quite friendly. English was widely spoken which helped a lot.
Normally travelling from Cologne to Düsseldorf is *much* cheaper, it seems to me that you booked a wrong ticket or something. But yes, as a person from Düsseldorf I understand your points. I guess you probably took the IC or ICE train which is meant for longer distances. For this distance I would rather recommend the regional train (RE) which is just 5 minutes slower and has a fixed price of 11.90€ per direction on this trip. (so 23,80€ total).
MaXtremeTrains In the end I took the €3 flix train.
Are you planning to come back to Thailand once more? I'll be visiting it in January, 2018.
We'd love to but not immediate plans in the near future. Oh, that is cool. A great time to visit in terms of weather. Where do you plan on going?
You guys haven't any Italy videos or am I missing them 😬
Ah, we have a few from a couple of years ago. We did a Milan city guide for instance. We're planning to really key in on Italy next year with some confirmed plans to visit Rome, Florence and Venice.
Next to Berlin this city has the most international cuisine in all of Germany- maybe try something other than a curry wurst?😀
Home Town
Cool to hear!
I’m going there tomorrow 🇺🇸🤣🤞
That is very exciting to hear!
was that a Canada goose I saw? Did you guys bring them? :P
Hahaha...and to think they didn't bring any passports
You need to do more British locations! Lake District, North Yorkshire,The Peak District ~ some of the top cuisine now makes its home in The UK!
Really? Except for London, I would never think of the UK as being any sort of food destination. When I was there the food was extremely bland.
Thank you! I hope we can soon. I feel like we have so much unfinished business in the UK.
We recently had some pretty amazing food experiences in Glasgow which I think still has an underrated and emerging food scene. We honestly haven't visited enough cities to give a thorough analysis though.
Samuel, may i know where you had good indian food. I am actually in dusseldorf. I am keen to visit there. Thanks

I would suggest spring or fall.

When are you coming to Norway?
Would love to soon but no definitive plans right now.
I just saw food... if you really love eat good food you need to visit Portugal! ;)
Thanks! Food in Portugal is great.
