I appreciate the video, and I wish to thank you for it. But, I did not realize until near the end of the video the technique illustrated was a deep push. A better title for this video would be "deep push against a short dead serve". Also, in my opinion there was too much talk when an actual demo of the technique being discussed would have been quicker and more informative. Adding a segment on short service return against a short dead serve would also be helpful, in my opinion. Finally, a segment on flipping a short dead serve would have been super helpful. I realize time constraints become an issue. But I think that replacing talk with technique would keep the video time down. Again, despite my comments I found the video useful and informative. Respectfully, Jack Howard.
I had very big problem with short no spin serve almost every second guy was really taking advantage with this type of s erve with me but after watching this video and trying after many sessions it has started working for me although still sometimes gets difficult new player arrives with different angle and spin but still most of the serves are returned very well like told in the video
Hello, I'm Yamada of Sao Paulo Brazil, my grip and Japanese pen, and I have difficulties to receive serve, I use a TSP Hunter 10mm and a rubber Andro Rasant Turbo 2.1 hard and my difficulty eh today receiving a heavy side serve generated with very effect by a ternegy 05 and if I go down it goes up a lot and I get over is the network ... the problem is the hard boarracha? will a soft would be better? or is the same technique?I never made part of table tennis club to learn, I learned to play by playing and watching videos tv kim soo taek, ryu seung me if you guys can do drawing videos and reception caneteiros I thank you ... thank you ...
+Marcos Yamada, many heavy sidespin serves can be returned (I'm not talking about attacking 2nd ball) with a quick and soft touch on the side of the ball when it's moving up after bouncing on your court; do not let it reach the highest point of its trajectory. For example, imagine you're playing a right-handed player making pendullum serve, the ball will naturally kick to your right side afer you contact it with your racket, so, in order to make a quality return of this service hold your racket really loose and touch the ball on the middle right inmediately after it bounced on your court. Give it a try ;)
very poor instruction.. I would like to see his opponent serving, and him demonstrating how to angle bat/speed, and other concepts.. Most disappointing!!!! :(
Too much talk better to practice your English pronunciation first. As it’s sounds funny no offence. I know the intent is to explain but it’s a simple no power short return. Done.
This has helped my more than I thought when I started watching. Thanks so much!
I love how the music slowly comes in at the end of each lesson 😀 Thanks for the upload!

now i got it how do it better , thanks so much
basically no flick, just thrust/lunge
Awesome. Thank you so much
Very nice tips tq
thanks for ur opinion ..
the one serving is doing a chop
He is applying a very small amount of backspin. By the time it has bounced twice on the table, the ball has almost 0 rotation.

too much talk!
Too much Bill white

This video is such a fail. he was doing backspin throughout the video. the question was to return no spin dead serve
The ball has slight backspin leaving the racket - you can tell he is not putting a lot of spin. By the time it hits the table twice, it's a dead ball.
too much took and that balls is for attack not for push
U should do practically I think.. Not talking too much.
