The Broadway show The Phantom of the Opera, recently closed its doors after an unprecedented 35 year run and 13,981 performances. This begged the question, how can actors, singers, dancers, and musicians perform the same show over and over, night after night, without going out of their minds?
So, when Jason and Peter discovered that their friend, Scott Thompson has performed his solo Vegas show over 4000 times, it resulted in a well-deserved…Really, no really.
You know Scott as his alter ego, comedian Carrot Top and we figured he would be a great resource for explaining how one keeps their sanity when your life closely resembles “Groundhog Day”.
    In this episode:
    - Scott’s connection to NASA.
    - What’s it like being a Las Vegas comedian doing essentially the same show for 30 years?
    - Buffing up like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
    - The science of boring.
    - What are the repetitive jobs that won’t be replaced?
    - Peter and Jason revisit that night in a Vegas dressing room with Hugh Hefner’s former girlfriend, Holly Madison.
    - The joke Jay Leno tells Carrot Top EVERY time he sees him and the reason Jay always kept inviting him back on the Tonight Show.
    - The reaction to Scott telling his dad he wanted to be a comedian will leave you speechless.
    - The hate Scott’s received from other comedians and where the cruelty comes from.
    - Carrot Top is actually shy?
    - How Jason wants to handle his ‘final moment’ in a dramatic death scene.
    - In Vegas, all the headliners used to hang out together…still true?
    - Remembering The Amazing Johnathan (September 9, 1958 - February 22, 2022.)
    - What’s it like to have lunch with the most commercially successful magician in history David Copperfield?
    - Hear Scott’s unbelievable George Carlin story and George’s favorite Carrot Top prop.

Met him 22 years ago with my kids @ the Luxor, near the beginning of his 23 year run. We just ran into him, and he took a photo with us and was so nice to my 8 and 11 year olds! Nice guy!😁

My ex and I would walk down the sidewalk and get into fake arguments in front of strangers saying “oh yeah, well I hate U2!” Which was true, we both didn’t like them

Just like your interview on Tom Green, you are a one in a million person. We learn by listening, just how honest and wonderful you are. George Carlin was like a dad an encourager, and mentor to so many comedians.(eg. Shandling). You mentioned him. You are thorough, and loving, and a perfectionist. Your dad and brother created a forum for the thoroughness. You turned it into an art form, a masterpiece. God Bless

Wow - Carrot Top and George on the same set. (well on screen) I saw Carrot top on, the brilliant guy, Tom Green's podcast. I thought that Carrot Top was the nicest guy. Now he is on a show with George. The super talented people seem to gravitate together. But when they chat it's like friends talking to friends. They make me feel like the world 🌍 has a wonderful family, connected together by the gifts and talents of these fantastic people.

Saw Carrot Top in the early 90s in Mobile, Alabama with my wife and son. Funny show, lots of props, lots of laughs. He looks younger now than he did back then!

Thanks for the post. Ctop good others bad me opinion. People with jealousy think just as long as you stay at the same level they are, you're ok. But if people laugh and you mostly avoid dodging the bombs and win more than you lose, that gets them to question themselves by comparing individuality. They are not themselves and can not figure out why they suck.

Please stop dropping 'dirty word' when someone curses on the podcast. It's distracting and takes away from the interview.
