Now when I think of Blackstone, I won't think of a heartless corporation squeezing failing companies for every penny they're worth before abandoning them and the employees. I'll think of the office. hahahahaha
they seem like they would hsve been super cool fellas to meet in the 60s, before they had that idea to become real life supervillains sucking the lifeforce from society.
Dont forget buying up real estate from private owners then gauging rent prices and running slum lord properties that you have to harass them to fix anything that breaks like a sewer mainline back up that spews raw sewage into your sink tub and toilets if you dare run water and let's it stay like that for 5 days before finally sending a plumber ( yes personal experience I'm biased they are dog shit) so grateful not to have them as slumlords anymore

It is pretty funny that Blackstone and Blackrock are both similar things with a cartoon villain corporation name, but they both have to clarify which one they are

I love how they say they "build wealth". I used to think they didn't really create anything and just squeezed money out of businesses to make regular people poorer and investors richer! Really changed my mind with that one!!!
well technically even if you tear down someone else's house and use the materials to add on to your mansion you're still 'building'.. can't catch these guys in a lie, they've had their laywers very thoroughly weasel out nothing but (technically) true facts
By taking things from people who have no wealth to compound the wealth of those with wealth, they are indeed building wealth. Honesty!
Blackstone builds assisted living facilities that cost 10k a month. No worries though, you can turn over your house to pay when you die.

@@JukaDominator They're playing a zero sum game, concentrating ownership of existing business and properties to drive up prices and reap the benefits.
It's a staple of these firms really, they have no intention of managing/creating businesses because that limits the profit/employee ratio. Their model is focused on amassing wealth and ownership to take money from poor people and pass it to shareholders while taking a slice.
Even with the Office reference, this just feels... insidious. Honestly, it doesn't even make me angry. Just scared.

I'm Canadian so I've never heard of Blackstone (if you mentioned them in one of your past videos, sorry I forgot) so I decided to google them and y'know, I sure am glad they decided to put up this video because before this, I never knew about their: illegal child labor, direct contribution to the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest, and major contributions to making what was an already bad situation (the 2007-2008 financial crisis) worse. Now I do. Thanks Blackstone!!
They bought my local hospital, made it for-profit, fired half the staff, and closed numerous wings. I now would have to drive for an hour and a half to receive maternity care.
