SONOS Playbar Soundbar (Actually 2 of them) sent for repair. Optical Toslink jacks inputs damaged.

- 2 more SONOS Playbars sent in for repair. Both of them had the exact same issue. The Toslink optical input jacks were damaged. After jack replacement they are as good as new! If you want to purchase the replacement input jack, the original part number is DLR1160

Thanks for the excellent video on this. I fixed my soundbar after putting it off for a year. I only had 6 screws left over after it was done - lol!! (None were critical to it's functioning properly). Watching you tear it down was easy.....putting it back together by watching you "in reverse" was the most challenging haha. Thanks again!

I did the repair today, but the connector is different, it was PLR131/T7. It is held in place with a shielding over the connector and has no ground pins on the bottom. After some modification I could fit it and I also needed to lower the whole in the casing, but it works now 👍
why do they make it so difficult to open things up nowadays. like always good job, thank you.

Just got through the disassembly. Regarding g the wifi, can't you just remove the card by taking out the two screws and sliding it out? One of the three wires broke from the connector when I tried to disconnect it. I'm hoping a little solder and got glue will fix it.

Do you know why the Playbar doesn’t work using the iMacs optical digital output. Is it somehow a different signal than a TVs optical digital output. I would like to use it as external speakers for my mac
So, very expensive audio equipment, with HannStar branding on the boards. Contract manufactured by the lowest bidder and glued everywhere just like the $30 soundbar it's likely based on. One born every minute.

I have this playbar and it stopped working (no sound) and disappeared from the Sonos app (updated to S2 version). Usually, I would fix this by resetting to factory settings (unplug, hold play button, plug back in while holding for a few seconds and wait for flashing green light). However the unit just stays solid white and won't reset.
Sonos' solution is to send it to them and they'll give me a discount on their newest model... no option to get it repaired even if I paid completely out of pocket. Complete fail on the right to repair scale.
Do you have any idea as to what could be wrong?

It is so worth it though. It has saved me 100's of hours in the time I have had it.
I have a question. I have a playbar and it stopped working. I tried using a different cord but to no avail. So I decided why not give it a tap to see if I can get it to work again. Upon doing so, the light on the side lit up them promptly unlit. Do you know what this can be?
Probably an intermittent connection somewhere in the circuit. Possibly system control (computer) or power supply issue.
I have the exact same thing happening with mine! I have disassembled it, but see nothing suspicious. I am going to try resoldering the mains connections to the board. All the capacitors look good, and no funny smell. Fingers crossed! lol
Need some help, my Playbar just stopped working, no light comes on when plug it in. What could be the problem? Tried new cable, but nothing changes.
Hard to say, 1 of 3 things could be wrong. 1-The standby power supply has failed, and is not supplying power to the microprocessor. 2-The system control is not responding. 3-It is failing to start the "run" power supply. Do you have a way to measure the standby power consumption, like a kill-a-watt meter or similar device?

I am disappointed the keyed wires that you pull the foam back on doesn't seem to be working. Even looks glued. I think I will ruin it.

Look for DLR1160 on amazon or eBay for the TOSLINK optical input connector.
I have a playbar,after move house ,it cannot to connect internet,and light not change with press button
Try a factory reset then do a complete setup with the mobile app.

Sonos stuff is crap to repair, I’ve several units here that are bricked due to failed firmware and I don’t have the equipment to flash.
Replacing connector 10 minutes work .. opening en closing the case 110 minutes lol .. what a joke :-)
Lack of smart design & engineering or just doing it on the cheap.
