    I have had the PlayBar the Sub and 2 play ones for about 6 years now and they are still going strong. If you play music and turn it all the way up the entire house sounds like a nightclub.
    It’s impressive the amount of bass that comes out of that small sub.
    Great video!

    I just purchased one of these used from a friend that had it for a year. (They 'upgraded' to a newer Sonos soundbar). I'm running it optical off a brand new Samsung TV in a large room with roughly 10K cubic feet. Something around 30x20x17-ish ft. After running the config on my cell phone, this thing sounds remarkable. I have some experience building custom home theater systems once-upon-a-time...two decades ago...and for something this small to present such a good spatial sense in such a large room...really impressed for the $$$. My first Sonos product and I look forward to trying out more. Impressed. Oh...and good vid. Nice job.

    Great video, thanks for this guys. Had a question about connecting from Sony X950G to this bar via optical audio. Any specific settings on my tv that i need to make sure I have to ensure good sound? Right now even with Dolby Audio mode selected, i have to crank it up to 40 on my sound bar to get a good level of audio while play TV/Movies through the TV native apps (netflix/hbo/etc.). Thanks!

    • @HiFiBrothers
      @HiFiBrothers  4 роки тому +1

      Hey appreciate you commenting! I think 40 on your volume seems about right. That's kind of my sweet spot too for decent loudness. Native apps are all different too so sometimes it could just be the app itself for causing the issue. I notice this between Netflix and Vudu. If you have to crank to 70 for decent sound then there would definitely be an issue. Hope that helps!

    • @HiFiBrothers
      @HiFiBrothers  4 роки тому +1

      If you're not going to use it for your TV/Movies, I would probably consider the Play 5 or new Five speaker as a better alternative.
      Also, keep in mind that these products don't connect directly via Bluetooth. The Play5/Five does have a line-in input though, so you could use that.

    How will this bar look under a 65” Samsung q90r tv? For my lounge room. Is it good just on its own without the sub? :) cheers

      The part of the video that shows the Playbar mounted is under a 65" TV so that'll give you an idea.

      Hope that helps!

    • @JonMoralesLA

      But why? You absolutely will want to listen to TV via the PlayBar at ALL times. It adds clarity to dialogue and sounds good even at lower volumes. Why would you want to only use it sometimes is beyond me and actually complicates things immensely for an otherwise set it up and forget it experience.

      Hi Emily, Sonos products use WiFi audio so everything is controlled from their app. WiFi audio is much better than bluetooth, IMO. Mostly because the quality is better and your music won't get interrupted if you receive a phone call or text notification.

    I have a playbar, base and 4 Sonos 1's. Instead of using them as surround sound, I set them up as if they are in other rooms (but in the same room). I just like the sound better then setting them up as surround sound speakers. On avengers endgame final scene when they all come out the portal and music playing, it sounds great! My backyard pretty good size and my neighbors can't believe how crisp it all sounds. I'm going to add another playbar and hang it up on the wall behind our sofa. I think you can have 2 playbars going at the same time.

      Agreed the PlayBar is still much better than a Beam 2. Beam 2 supposedly has Atmos support, but I’m telling ya…your ears will not deceive you if you compared the two and PlayBar sounds much better. Beam 2 still lacks mid bass and even paired with a Sub Mini does not sound as good as a PlayBar. Save your money and buy the Sub Mini with a PlayBar and two Sonos Ones as rears.

  • @Johnp92

    Is the playbar worth it for somebody who strictly will watch movies/tv shows through this? Music will be very rare. All these play bars with Dolby atmos now is that the way to go for movies?

    • @HiFiBrothers
      @HiFiBrothers  4 роки тому +1

      The Playbar should be used primarily for movie/TV watching as this is what was built for. Dolby Atmos is still debatable of whether it makes sense for a soundbar but it's based on preference and budget. Hold off for a week though because Sonos may announce a Dolby Atmos Playbar next Friday.

      If any of your Sonos products are connected to your router "wired" this creates a separate network for your Sonos products to operate, thus making them run smoother and reducing connectivity issues.
      I have my Playbar connected directly to my router via wired cable and hardly ever have connectivity issues. You may want to try that out. If your Sonos products are too far from your router to be connected by wire, then you may want to invest in a Sonos Boost. Hope that helps!
