Do you have a solution for Explorer windows that close on their own? There doesn't seem to be anyone who knows what's happening with that.
You lost me when you said I could not record the desktop. Now it makes no sense to me.

He means you can record anything any app but not main screen/desktop like he has mountains as his background you cant record that
So you can't record a streaming video coming from a website basically. So it's kind of a pointless exercise to learn this. There are some serious limitations
I recorded a whole 40 minute long video with this originally, but me talking wouldn't be recorded. Thanks for making this so I could figure out how to do it with my audio.

Thanks for the tips Brian, tried using this when it came out but i de-activated all of the x-box gamebar stuff since i prefer using Nvidia's Geforce Experience recording program as it comes with it free and you can set many different preferences including bitrate,quality...many more,but thanks again for the tips!

i have all of this on my screen its just in the 'audio' section theres nothing there (etc, no speaker sounds,chrome and system sounds) do you know if this happens to alot of people? if so, can you try to have a look and find a solution? thank you! 😁

Apparently Win+Alt+R can capture UA-cam videos. I just captured this one. Fastest and easiest way to do this. Thank you.

I tried the Xbox Game Bar a few months ago, but it didn't work for me.
I attend a lot of webinars on Zoom, but the companies hosting those, don't share the recordings or allow me to record in Zoom.
when I tried to record with the game bar, the sound wouldn't be saved if the mic or speakers were off.
I then had to plug something into the audio jack, so I could activate sound, without making noise in the house.
when Zoom goes into full screen or the host stops presentation sharing, the recording would stop.
I would the have to go into the game bar and start recording again.
I need to record the entire screen, instead of just an application window.
I installed OBS, and I like it, but it's a bit complicated.
Pretty easy to setup, not sure why yours never worked.
Mine will not copy the audio either.

You need to enable the option under settings > capturing > all (Games, enabled mic, apps, system) ! System is the one which records your vide's audio without MIC,

all good i worked it out :) in xbox game bar settings (top right menu area)
I don't have sound in recorded video :/, is that something that can be changed in settings or what? Can somebody tell me, please? I didn't use screen record before.

I could never get the audio right. It just came out a jumbled and garbled mess.
Edit: now I got it. TURN THE MIKE OFF!!! It is a great recorder for any video, nice sharp images and great audio. Thanks for your video and info.

I mean, for many things you did a great video, but is missing the proof part of the audio!
In my case I have the Widgets with All selected for the Mic, but the audio is missing in my recording.
The mic is on too.
You just got away by saying ' It will work if you did it correctly ' but you didn't show your results on the most difficult task of the recording..
Mine just says gaming features arent’t available for the windows desktop or file explorer
try using windows + alt + r to start the recording or use windows + g to open the game bar. If you open it through file explorer it won't work since file explorer is the tab that you're on.

The latest update of Xbox game bar doesn't let you record anything you want . It's now strictly for games only

I use it only for game recordings, but I didn't thought about recording my screen (except game) with this Xbox game mode. Good Idea!

I like this and did not know about it. Win+Alt+R easy enough. To access file, type in Captures in the start menu. Works great. Win+Alt+R should record it. Seems to work with UA-cam to capture video you might want to watch later.

Is there a way to record certain parts of the screen (and also audio from the computer, like a video playing) that's similar to Quicktime with Mac OS? It was so easy to just drag a box over what I wanted to record, make sure SoundFlower was up, and done. Not happy with the run-around PC is giving me.

Everytime I screen record on my Windows 10 , I happen to watch the video after I finish recording, but the audio sounds results are just weird... I hear everything in the video but the sound coming out has no low-end! Everything just sounds like I'm some kind of tunnel or as if my headphones we're half plugged in or something, It even sounds like I'm wearing plastic earphones, I don't really know how to describe the sound, maybe it could be some kind of distortion but TBH I dunno. In other words, the video and visual quality is fine, it's just the sound I'm having problems with and I don't know to address this issue...Is their any way I can fix this?? Please help :(

I have the EXACT same problem! I tried everything and even got a very nice Blue Yeti microphone to hopefully get better audio but now there is no sound at all. I'm done with this Xbox thing it sucks and my only advice to you would be to do the same. There is plenty of other options out there. Good luck 👍

How do I get them to record sound as sounds is coming thru speakers but not recording in capture?
Check some of the settings. There should be some sitting for audio make sure your microphone is selected and record desktop sounds
@@Britec09 I've tried most ideas, I repair and reset app and now cannot capture (record is greyed out). It updated to latest app and now lost ability to record, only system audio option and that is greyed out aswell now?????
So it seems that clicking on PRIVACY SETTINGS gets the Capture icon too reappear?
