17" MBP... Heavy Boy... LOL
It will have to be pretty significant for me to upgrade my 11” M2 iPad Pro. I ditched a 12.9” w/MKB for this device and have really enjoyed letting my iPad be an iPad and not trying to make it a MBP replacement. I would revisit if they re-invent iPadOS. I’m not holding my breath.

Chris, I’m with you 100% on back camera usage on the iPad “PRO” and emphasis on the Pro specifically. My occupation depends on it, including the LiDAR Scanner for accurate measurements for home improvement projects. The iPad (+ Pencil) is absolutely ideal for the job site and we deserve something much closer to the iPhone 15 Pro in terms of camera spec, even if that means a beefier bump on the backside.

I never understood how people hate the back cameras on iPad! yes they can definitely use an upgrade but I use them frequently for document scanning and for FaceTiming, to show people things. they definitely have a place and purpose on the iPad.
The difference between the phone and iPad is that the Dynamic Island in the iPhone only limits the aspect ratio in a small way, on the landscape iPad it would have a much bigger impact. It would be better to do a small notch. Or, better yet under screen.
The camera on the back is for document scanning. One device to rule them all...don't need a scanner if you have a high quality camera. I can fax documents from my iPad if I can take a sufficently visible picture.

I LOVE the Dynamic Island and how it takes up some of my screen space. I wish they would make it bigger or just move it to the center of the screen!
I use the back camera often to take pictures of things I make, mostly jewelry, i get better pictures than my phone
It is really satisfying when the monitor behind you fits perfectly into the mesh section of the chair! Looks like your chair has a display!! Equally, was really jarring after you moved 😂
I really hope there is no dynamic island. I use my ipad vertically most of the time. Was planning on purchasing one, however if there is an island I will buy the current version refurbished.
I have the second generation iPad Pro, so I am pretty excited to finally upgrade. The new processor and features that will be in this new iPad Pro will be a refreshing upgrade for me. I have been wanting to park my MacBookPro and just carry the iPad Pro. It reduces weight when traveling internationally. Thank you for all the reviews and information.
8:03 They should put on it a bigger sensor (1’’ or bigger), with adjustable aperture. That would be a game changer, because you would be able to use it to make some cool videos and, at the same time, have a great monitor to watch what you are doing.

2018 iPad Pro user here. I actually use the camera on the back of the iPad quite a bit.

@@judichristopher4604 I’ve used it for videos, but not as much as taking pictures. If this next iPad is a decent upgrade, I will get one. I would like to do more with an iPad seeing as I have used my current one everyday since getting it back in late 2018. It’s hard to believe that almost 6 years has gone by.

Apple is shooting themselves in the foot by increasing the prices during economic hardships. The Vision pro isn't selling for PARTIALLY that reason.
VR sets never sold well for anyone except Meta, but that’s because Meta doesn’t make money on those sales, but rather the data collection.
That being said, the rumored prices are much higher than what we’re actually going to see on the 7th.
Most likely prices will see a $100~200 bump or even stay the same.
The last iPad was released in a time that was still affected by the chip shortage. Now that prices are back down, it’s not unreasonable to think they could keep prices the same as the past generation.
People are upgrading on a longer cycle which means that Apple, to keep profits the same, have to put prices up. This is basic economics in a mature market. You will see other premium sector laptops, tablet and phones showing the same trend.

That very likely makes a redesigned pen necessary doesn’t necessarily mean new functionality just a redesign for the new configuration

the new Pencil will replicate the paper / pencil friction with the haptic feedback since it's just vibrations at the end of the day.
i frequently use my ipad pro M1 12.9 rear camera exclusively for scanning documents. Using CamScanner app coupled with the high resolution camera, i could achieve very sharp scanned docs.

In my daily use, my real iPad restriction is on Software. I’m really more curious about WWDC. And i’m talking about “basic” stuff, iPadOS Safari still not full Safari, iPad mail app still not fully feature, and so on. Stage manager does some really weird stuff when switching apps
its the software thats it.... thats the thing that really needs fixing. A Samsung dex type of software where when the iPad is docked it runs a form of macOS
Why did you blur the tip of your pencil?
I still have iPad Pro 12” 2019 and working perfectly well, there’s absolutely no need to replace it, I don’t have a single app that would not work, maybe expect of games but I do not play games. I still think there’s nothing out there that truly use iPad potential and once you buy one it last for ever.
I've never not once in my life been out in the public and saw someone holding up a whole ass iPad to take a photo.

Apple needs to keep all the new accessories compatible with the older hardware. I’m happy with my 12.9” M1 Pro, but if the new Magic Keyboard will work with it and make it more capable, then I might spring for the new keyboard, but doubtful I would buy a new iPad at this time. I am also very happy with my ESR version of Apple’s current Magic Keyboard.
I have a question.. (Please don't laugh) I have only used the MBP...
I want to buy the iPad... but want an external keyboard like a normal keyboard... not the magic something... is that plausible?
@@judichristopher4604 You can use any Bluetooth Keyboard with the iPad. Same goes for the mouse, although the iPad works best if you use a trackpad in place of a mouse, either one will still work.

I hate that thing.
It’s fine on the iphone only because it’s a phone, but the ipad is a media screen. It would only create an obstruction on the screen for a camera I probably won’t ever use.
The majority of negativity on iPad reviews is that the camera is not landscape. So Apple gives that and guess what people will complain about the Dynamic Island!
don't even need a camera on the back. Its not something I use to take pictures. I have owned an ipad for many years and I have never used it to take a pic. I understand if some specialized use cases exist but I think they could build an ipad with and one without the camera with a corresponding prices differential.
Never used the camera or the LiDAR; who walks around a 13 inch camera, if I want to photograph something I use my digital SLR.
I don’t use paper like because it makes the display look like crap

25% Nothing else but: Perfect Symmetrical Bezels
50% Landscape Notch
Why? Look at the current MacBook lineup.
I sincerely hope the rumors about the huge price increase are false. The M2 Pro is already at a questionable high pricepoint and setting the price several €/$100 above the current prices will place it out of reach for a significant amount of users. No matter how many fantastic and great improvements are added, in the end of the day we all need to be able to justify a high-priced purchase like this towards ourselves and when applicable, our family.
It is 18 months plus since the last iPad Pro so I suspect inflation will add 10%. Then you have expensive new OLED displays, and the first run of the M4 chip along with a new design. So only $200 extra would be a bonus.

Apple shouldn’t concentrate on the camera-that’s ridiculous as we don’t take pictures with our iPads.. Apple should focus on the features, which they are on some level.😅
You are missing the point of Generative AI. That is recording video or taking photos on the iPad and then generating AI on-device, rather than transferring to a laptop. It is obvious why the cameras will be one of the main value-added features.
I want an Apple Remote Desktop for iPad to Mac. Make AI do that for us.

Makes no sense to me, unless Apple realised how consumers are mad for being fooled by their marketing. M2 and M3 macs should get a free upgrade to 16 or 24 gb of ram. This would be the honest thing to do. Makes no difference to have a M1, M10, M1000 chip on a tablet.
At the end it’s all about the “marketing”.
There will be a 16GB version of the iPad Pro so if you need that, it will be there. Maybe they will have 12GB/18GB/24GB options instead.

Apple is premium and the top end of to boot. I am not sure why you are not surprised with this. Like me, I cannot afford a new iPad Pro and will have to buy secondhand, but I understand the business model so accept the reality.
