Free and The Faces are 2 of my favorite British blues acts, though they go well beyond blues. Something about their facility with a slow song, that smoldering quality
That is something I definitely would never do 😲💫 So therefore, I'm giving these gentlemen a lot of credit, for getting on stage singing and playing an instrument in order to make others happy. It seems like every step that all you took brought you closer to fame . Missing you Ronnie Lane 🙏✝️
They always had fun on stage- everyone smiling. One of the best bands ever. to bad they went from bad to ruin. Pun intended.what could have been if ronnie had not left the group.
When I was watching Sweet Lady Mary I noticed that there was acoustic guitar and electric guitar overdubbed on these recordings. So these are definitely not true live recordings. When Ron Wood picks up his guitar after the pedal steel solo listen to all the acoustic guitar That has been going throughout the song, and steel fills that are still going. I wish they would never do that as this band always sounded great just stripped down to the bare elements.
If you check out many BBC recordings, you will find they're not truly "live". They had to pre record a live version before the show, then play along, or even mime to it. It was something to do with union rules, you can often see the instruments are not even plugged in.
Typical of the era, no artist or band ever played live on the BBC. A recorded backing track with live vocals was the norm. The only bands that did play live of the top of my head were The Who in 1973 and Iron Maiden in 1981.
You can Tell the two Ronnies loved playing together.
To see Ronnie smile again really made my day, thanks so much ❤❤
Lovely comment

excellent guitar work from Ronnie
Loved the small faces and loved those that moved to be with Rod. Awesome musicians. Awesome sound. Great memories
I live in the town Ronnie is buried in. Fascinating man
Lay a flower at his grave for me...very fascinating man indeed!
And one for me too! Long time fan, great soulful stuff
Trinidad. I visited his grave last year. Put Debris on the car stereo while I was there. RIP Ronnie Lane

Truly wonderful
Saw the Faces final tour in 75’ in Detroit and the show was great what a party band for sure!
Rod was the best rock singer on planet earth 70’s
They don’t make them like this anymore.
this is superb

Ron Wood was a star until he became a rolling stone. Then he became a studio musician.
That's unfair
Who is playing acoustic on "Sweet Lady Mary"?
A fantastic yet severely underrated rock n roll band.

Band aren't playing live.
These guys could have been much better. I always prefer the rockin' out numbers to the "crooning" numbers.
Personally I prefer R.L. singing this.
Ronnies version blows Rod out the water...just sayin...
Are u sure Ronnie did this?Nobody blows Rod out of the water 70’s
