I admire the fact that you try to understand and fix stuff. Many people, specially women assume they will not ever be able to fix stuff, and therefore they do not even try. Greetings from Russia
Guilty as charged. I always told my mom, " I don't know how." She would say, "Find out how." I wanted some guy to fix my heater, but there don't seem to be any repairmen. I couldn't find a video either. So, that meant figuring it out myself. I still couldn't do it until I prayed and asked for God's help. Thanks for your encouragement. I just had a friend put in a water heater in my motorhome. Two days later, the gas stopped flowing. He wasn't eager to come again. I used the electric cord, but it pulled a lot of energy from my generator. Propane would be cheaper. A couple days later, I was determined to fix it myself rather than pay $200+ for a repairman to come out. I got this idea to shake the gas line and it worked! Praise God!
Isn't that something that we poor ladies are left to figure these things out. I am single. Are you single as well? I am glad I made the video. I thought no one would care. My friends didn't want to watch it.
You explained the working system of the mechanism well through trial and error. I also saved my petroleum stove. Thank you, may you have a nice life. Greetings from Nederland
You have inspired me! Bought the same kerosene Heater and I'm Watching "How to videos" to operate this properly. Also thank you for showing how to operate siphon! No videos show this!! God bless you!!
great video. I have a dynamic glow kerosene heater, and if I touch the knob or walk by the heater, the vibration from the floor causes the "auto shut off" to roll that knob to the OFF position. I understand the need for safety, but it shuts off at the worst times. any advice?
That's really odd that it should be so sensitive. Maybe the spring is wound too tight. I use mine in my motorhome at night and then move it into my unfinished house during the day so my cats can have some heat in the morning. It used to shut off whenever I set it down. Fortunately, it wouldn't go out completely and I could just turn it back up. I find these heaters to be very annoying. There is always something to figure out. I use a wire brush on the wick. It makes it wider at the top and this might make it less likely to shut off so easily, but I am not sure. Let me know if you figure it out. It might help someone else.
Lol! Did you just watch this video? Well, I was warm and cozy last winter because I figured out how to fix my heater. Thanks for watching it. Most people get bored with fix-it videos. That makes you special.
That sounds really strange. Hang onto the knob and try to gradually release it when you get the flame where you want it. Have you tried pushing your release button to see if it is working correctly? Try raising the wick all the way and then pushing the button. If that works, raise the wick all the way and then lower it without lighting it and see what happens. Can you call the company about this problem? I wonder if your Dyna Glo is built the same. Let me know if any of this helps.
I like you videos. Somethings take trial and error and do not work on the first try. I am the one that commented on your first fix for the kerosene heater that you should have filmed starting it up. Same here. It is always a good idea to test and show it working or...possibly not.
@@healthyhomesteadingadventu1149 🌟🙂 try doing it from a wheelchair. I had to do this for the third time this morning in 2 days. I had the wick too high and it would not go out. Here are some tips if it happens to anyone else. Pull tank out and just let it burn off the kerosene. It will NOT stink up your house as it is a brand new wick with no deposits built up. When you take it apart again the wick will be tight around the post tube it wraps around because it's dry, you will have to work to get the assembly out but it will come loose and it will stretch. Stretch it out before reassembling. The ratchet screw needs to be perfect in the teeth, it takes patience to get it correct. Hope your injuries are healing. Merry Christmas.
7:24 okay so when I do what you did it will just release as if you pressed the release button only does it on a few gears I know I can ramble I just bought it frustrated everything is good right now it's like 20 degrees but yeah don't know if I can fix it also sorry I just comment like three books but thanks and loving the videos
If you just bought it, why are you already messing with it? I wish the company that makes them could help us. I just have to figure things out myself and it takes forever.
So I've been going to every UA-cam survival person kersene related just bought one and three gears on the wick knob slip like just doesn't stay in but if you hold the tab ever so slightly goes in gear great but it's so loose indef need help
I found a little trick to adjust the wick so it won't be so hot. I push the release one click while I hold the knob. Then, I turn the knob counter clockwise to lower the wick. If I come to the end and need to lower it more, I do the same thing again.
@@gregorybolin4672 Did you mess up your wick adjuster by taking off too many screws? What needs to be fixed is the spring. I am not sure if starting with the wick part way up will fix it. If you are just changing the wick, I made another video about how to do that.
@healthyhomesteadingadventu1149 no as soon as I slide it on it wont budge like it's too tight very odd had this problem b4 I replaced the wick must be the twisty slot.
Also weird probably just cause heat expands the metal then it's fine but still at least the 8th 12th and the 14th turn can't use them but 13 is but I can't adjust then it warms up 13 is good but still freaks me like I gotta sit hear just watch it I'm not saying I leave it in attended but I'd like to at least and live and be warm not just be warm and watch it like a hawk
How do I shut off A Kero Heat Heaters that does not shut off ? I tried shutting it off to the Shut off Manual and it is still running ? I tried the Adjusting Range But it is still going .
I had that very thing happen today. I thought I shut mine off a found it was still going very low. I would blow it out. That has always worked for me. Always check to make sure it goes out and if not, blow it out.

I may have misunderstood you. Okay, is the wick dry? If so, you might try soaking it in kerosene. There are little sharp edges that hold it in place. You have to pull it off of those. Aren't these heaters fun?
I asked myself this: WHY? Oh WHY didn't I get a kid to fix it for me? (Thinks about the old TV commercial where the little kid fixes the computer with a plastic toy hammer while parents are arguing)....
