Yeah, that's a really annoying aspect. If someone in your team does a launch is counts against your quest. Hopefully this video helps clear up what the quest would've entailed.

After passing the rad arches in the reactor room just walk clockwise hugging the left wall and you'll reach a Level 3 locked door beyond which is a terminal that allows you to skip fixing the pipes.
I think they mean that you can bypass the entire repair process. Now that I read that I vaguely recall something like that, but it's been a long while LOL.
Anyone want to team up doing these? I need to farm flux materials, so launching nukes myself is the fastest, as the servers don't really seem to drop them much.
The question for me is, how much ammo were you using? I normally take about 1500-2000 .50 rounds with me. But it seems to me that this may be not enough.
The .50 MG I'm using is sub-optimal and usually I lose a small amount but it definitely wasn't anywhere near to thousands of ammo. If you're running short then the ammo exchanger will help a lot, and so will using all the damage boosting perks.
Lol I'm a new player and solo'd my 1st silo today only spending a couple hundred rounds...took me a while to try a nuke because I thought you needed to be a whole lot more prepared...I was wrong
I will never drop a nuke again without glitching out of bounds. 30 minutes of wasted time otherwise with Zero guarantee that the Silo Launch won't be bugged out and never progress... Ran into this 3 times so far, each time was after doing the Legit way... 3 times too many. I'd rather waste 5 minutes bypassing everything there, to find out I have a bugged silo, than 30 minutes. Anyone who disagrees with me on that, has not launched enough nukes. You don't know pain...
I know exactly what you mean. It's the worst when the nuke prep progress bar freezes. So you've gone through the entire silo and are just about to launch and bam, you have to start again LOL.
Nuka Grenades... I can run a silo, without a gun, without power armour, whilst being bloodied and not have any issues. Equip a Troubleshooters weapon, (I use a knife) and just start throwing Nuka Grenades. They go through walls, floor and doors, and will clear a room of robots and turrets. I can do the whole silo with 25(ish) grenades You'll learn the best places to throw them after a few runs, but it's so much faster
ballistics are not good against robots as the are basically made out of thick steel aka bullet proof armor, flame weapons are best as with living enemies as they melt them fast. Pyrolizer, Holy Fire, and Enclave Flamer are best
You do not need to be part of the Enclave to get the nuclear keycards, that's just the cheapest/easiest and most reliable way. This season you can get a few as a seasonal unlock, however you can also occasionally find them as corpse loot and sometimes a player might have some up for sale. And yes, I am talking about the key cards, not the code pieces.
The master infiltrator legendary perk makes nukes a cake walk for those that want to do nukes legitimately but i should really try out that out of bounds trick
i run bloodied / unyielding SS armor and mutations with a bloodied cremator and a vampire holy fire..and for larger rooms i just drop a nuka grenade.. I only use power armor in nuked areas..
I do it solo (easy) with Chinese stealth amour / flamer. For whatever reason the turrets can see you, so disable them or use them to your advantage. You'll always face less enemies solo. The flamer because using friendly fire perk restores health to robots in the final sequence.
Just did it today with stealth suit and a fixer...you're right, it was easy...was my 1st nuke and I tried to launch more but teammates keep ruining it...anyway, I'm addicted now and I must do it everyday lol
Did the progress meter reach zero? If it did then it might be a bug and I'd just go with the photo mode glitch, you've done it the right way already so you should let yourself pass the door.
You should try the out of bounds glitch too. Not everybody can do it but if you can then it's an even bigger time saver. I showed how to do it in the last section of the video.
@@user-zi5pj9qz1n hate targeting the mine, so i just hop through the doors - about 5 minute run. lol - pro tip, once you start the final launch sequence, half the time you take off, come back after a few minutes and skip even defending them :p still gotta run back, but you drop off materials/sell crap then hop back if you need to, just don't let it sit past like an hour i think
I'm sorry, I must have missed something. Why does anybody consider silos "hard". I launched a nuke at level 61. Sure it took me lingervthen than now but... What's the big deal???
It's no so much the sheer difficulty, it's how involved the process is. There's multiple stages that you have to learn how to do, finding the cores is especially onerous early on.
So a few things...I've never had an instant reset, ever. I've left at the end, and come back, because someone else launched on a queen, multiple times with no issues. Second, key cards tend to be in the exact same spot...per silo. The keycards in charlie are always in the same spots, etc.
Are you playing on console? It's almost like we're playing different games. Every time I've forgotten a card and gone back to get it the silo's reset, that's two quick fast travels and it's reset.
***IMPORTANT TIP ABOUT RAD-X*** If you use any mutations at all, when you go to use Rad-X it will suppress them, making them inactive for the duration of the Rad-X. HOWEVER... Diluted Rad-X does not have this effect. So, if you use any mutations at all, ALWAYS use the diluted version of Rad-X. If you use a Rad-X on accident and your mutations get suppressed, just use a diluted Rad-X and it will cancel out the regular Rad-X.

I'll give you one better, I launched my first nuke and did it solo. Sent it to the mine shaft to do the mission, and fight Earl again. Someone else nuked that location so I went there to do the mission and we beat Earl. Then after I saw the marker still there, there was a halo tape I was supposed to pick up right past the rubble that the nuke clears. So I nuked it again but was then kicked off the server. I was in a group so I instantly was able to load back into the same server with same causal team, by then the rubble was back up and some randos where fighting Earl so 2 nukes later and I still don't have the halo tape and mission done. 😂😂👌👌
I love this tutorial as a vet but the only thing i would change is that if a higher lvl player is doing it they will most likely let you do the actual quest but keep enemies off you and speed it up overall. (I do atleast😁)
Once you shutdown the reactor the high lvl of rads stops. If you are fast with it you can jump right through the window and hit the terminal without getting shot or getting too many rads.

Such a great video for new players! I've been playing since launch, and after running 100 nuke runs this way, it began to get tedious and boring. It was also very time-consuming, i dont agree with glitches, but the camera mode door glitch to get through the doors in the silo makes it so much more bearable, you can get to the launch room in no time.

Interesting. Looks like a large amount of work and time to fire a nuclear mission. How did the early players of this game figure out how to do this, when there were very few videos or none at all? Can this be done more easily with two or more people helping in the silo?
You eventually learn how to do it through practice, these videos simply let you skip the learning part. And yes, you can have as many people as you like doing it at the same time. It's a shared pace. The only downside is that the launch prep spawns more enemies but more players should be able to handle that.
That's really lucky, or maybe they changed that .. I haven't lost one for a while because I'm so careful but I still have PTSD from having to do the silo again because I fat fingered the code and didn't have a spare card.
It depends on your level, but it can be pretty difficult if you're a lower level. But I did it at level 40 something in an Honest Abe run, i.e. only black powder weapons. Great run through, I’ve been avoiding it for ages and it looks like for a good reason. My only build is a stealth Fixer dude so I’m guessing I might still struggle by the looks of it. Also how do you get 86 perk cards ? 😂👍
The biggest difficulty is trying to learn the goals while dealing with the robots. Once you know what you need to do and how it's not that difficult. But you can also make use of the glitches I covered in the last two sections if you're really having trouble. For the cards, I have all max upgraded legendary perks to boost attributes. IMHO they're better than pretty much every other legendary perk.
This is great for newcomers to the game. I’ve been playing for over 5 years now. I start new characters and challenge myself to launch at the lowest possible level. I’ve launched at levels 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 and higher.
I've read if you use the pacify robot perks on the robots if there are enough in the room they won't respawn. So pacify some then kill the rest but keep enough so they don't respawn.
Yeah, really good idea to check the location of every nuke when you get the notification. Funniest was when somone nuked the whitespring. Guy was working on his multi-storey camp. Boom, and the guy ragdolled for miles.
Just get some good armor bro and alot of quantums pvp isn't that difficult unless you run into a stacker I have a full set of unyielding sentinels ss armor and a full set of sentinel assassins ss armor just need a few pieces for a full set of overeaters T-65 armor just set your cards right and you can be pretty much invincible

@@wilfredwayne7139 I think bloodied plasma caster is the best for damage if your a bloody build just wish Bethesda would stop catering to bloody builds the new rail way thats coming out is basically for bloody builds that's the only reason i use a bloodied build is for the damage but good luck on your rolls hopefully you will get a god roll plasma caster
You can also glitch into the room to launch the nuke. Pretty easy, best if you have a jet pack but definitely possible without ! Needs one mine and that’s it.

@@SinfulSquirrel Brotherhood recon armor, Secret Service armor, and Civil Engineer armor are the only non-power armor sets in the game that can be modded with a jet pack. copy and pasted from the wiki just google "fallout 76 jet pack" or fallout 76 *specific thing you want to know about* and then look up the info on the wiki. It has helped ME A TON and I have 1300hrs in FO76 and still haven't done half of it and still don't know half of the stuff. I only have done about half the main story, and about half the side missions. I still haven't done the vault mission to get blue prints by using gold to buy, but I am on that mission.
Do you know that there is an easier way that the photomode glitch ? You can take the elevator down, glitch through the roof using a mine and using a jetpack to fly over the last area. You just need to initiate the lauch sequence. It's a five minutes nuke launch, you don't need an ID card, you don't need to repair the reactor or the mainframe.
What an awful guide. Here’s how you actually do it: place a landmine on the white computer terminal right in front of the initial elevator. Un equip any weapons and lock onto the mine with vats. You’ll get teleported up to the mine and through the roof. From there just jet pack and parkour your way to the launch room and you’re golden

You can just grab mainframe cores from the damaged cores and you won’t have to go looking around for them to repair
you can also loot technical data from the blue circular cabinet while waiting for the launch and submit to brotherhood of steel for reward.
Nuka cola grenades to clear things out. Couldn't be easier.

I've found that using the new camp ally Aldean, her buff against robots makes silo runs easier.
Haven't used her, but yeah any bonus against bots would make silos easier.

Using power absorption perk card is also really good, plus it charges your cores in the process.

I did the run properly my first time. Ever since that i use the PA photomode glitch. Record time is 8 minutes. I think...

My gripe is launching a nuke for seismic activity and no one shows up, or like 6 level 40s with a couple 20s come
That's sad to hear, I always turn up to the Nuka Tour and SQB boss battles. The repair kits make it always worthwhile.

There is a holotape you can buy from Modus that will tell you which silos are actively on cooldown and which are ready to launch.
Once you shutdown the reactor the high lvl of rads stops. If you are fast with it you can jump right through the window and hit the terminal without getting shot or getting too many rads.

You can use vats and a frag mine to glitch out of bounds and get to the launch room in like 50 seconds

just google "fallout 76 jet pack" or fallout 76 *specific thing you want to know about* and then look up the info on the wiki. It has helped ME A TON and I have 1300hrs in FO76 and still haven't done half of it and still don't know half of the stuff. I only have done about half the main story, and about half the side missions. I still haven't done the vault mission to get blue prints by using gold to buy, but I am on that mission.
Do you know that there is an easier way that the photomode glitch ? You can take the elevator down, glitch through the roof using a mine and using a jetpack to fly over the last area. You just need to initiate the lauch sequence. It's a five minutes nuke launch, you don't need an ID card, you don't need to repair the reactor or the mainframe.

What an awful guide. Here’s how you actually do it: place a landmine on the white computer terminal right in front of the initial elevator. Un equip any weapons and lock onto the mine with vats. You’ll get teleported up to the mine and through the roof. From there just jet pack and parkour your way to the launch room and you’re golden
