Looks great. Wish it came in wagon form.
I would love that 🤞
Totally, loved the Jetta Sportwagen
The Jetta always to me looked better than the Corolla from day one 😁
Honda reliable vw not reliable honda for the win
@@clemnewton9007a car is a car, it’s just transportation…Most people finance or lease when buying a new car…you’re gonna get a new one in a few years anyways, it’s not like your keeping it for 30
I like the headlights on the 2025 Jetta. The rear tail-lights in the new Jetta is an improvement.
That said, the interior of the 2024 is so much better sadly.
This is jetta goes 50 mpg on the highway!one tank -600 miles range. Beats civic 2.0 N/A . I drove 2021 and my range was 700miles while doing 60mph on the highway
Nice review. I just bought one of these and love it. The seats in an SEL are actual leather, not leatherette.
Thank you! And you are right they are real leather. Wow that makes me like the car even more. Glad you love it! Volkswagen is for sure stepping up the game
Nice redesign but I would still be concerned about reliability versus the Civic. Nice review and great fuel mileage figures.
I had a 2019 Jetta for 4 years/45,000 miles before I went to an SUV. It was rock solid, never gave me an issue.
I can understand that, the Jetta has a longer warranty, and a few of my friends have new civics and they have had significant suspension and AC problems, as well as excessive oil burning starting at 20,000 mi. As well as some of the trim, check out the current gen Civic next time you drive by one and look at the window trim it literally fades within months of being brand new, unacceptable
@@great_deceptionyeah the 1.4 t is so reliable, my female friend has a 2016 and 200,000 mi the only problem was a turbo actuator which was only about 600 bucks. They are solid, great gas mileage, and the 2019 got the 8-speed aisin which is Toyota so reliable. The 1.5T seems to be fairly reliable as well but I don't have any reference points personally
Had vws all my life not once have I had an issue outside of normal maintenance. I'm 34
@juliofierro3952 electrical, window and Central locking issues? Very common in mk5, mk6, you know early mid late 2000s. I've had some very reliable Volkswagens and Audis. I did have a 1999 Jetta and the transmission went out, up until last year I did not know that it had a 100,000 Mi warranty and I could have gotten it replaced for free😡🤔🤯
Love the Jetta, it gets fantastic fuel economy, almost hybrid like. Very upscale, great power, I would love a bigger infotainment screen. Shopping in this price range The Jetta was always my choice for subcompact. However the new Civic hybrid touring is about $1,000 more for the top trim, extremely fast relatively speaking and great gas mileage. Would have to drive both back to back.
It won't even last as half as the civic unfortunately. The 4 cylinders they have in Jetta and Taos have problems.
I have always loved the way the Jetta looks, but I'm forever wary of buying one due to their reputation for reliability and serviceability.
I think this Jetta refresh looks great inside and out. I don’t keep my cars long-term, so I would definitely consider it over a Honda Civic.
It is not fake leatherette it is real Vienna leather. It is also underrated. 7.1 0-60. Definitely making more than 158 hp and It is probably making more like 200 lb ft of torque.
Yeah you are right it is real Vienna leather but the engine size is correct. Crazy how that small of a engine can pack a punch like that
SEL and GLI have real leather, that’s no leatherette.
It is essentially a Audi A3 with less price
not true....quite a few differences
I take VW over Toyota any day.
The VW Taos is asymmetrical too
So a base civic is 24 grand and a base Jetta is 22 why the difference ? The interior quality looks maybe a little better in the Jetta also this particular Jetta is 31 grand, the more performance oriented GLI version is 32 grand
Great review Matt! I mean for the $$ to me this is a great deal for the amount of equipment it has. I look forward to you hopefully doing a review of the GLI which for me will be a mini Audi for sure. I've not had any of your video's pop up in my feed lately and I'm guessing UA-cam's algorithms are to blame. Hope all is well and again an excellent review!
Thank you! I will for sure be doing a GLI within the next month or two when I get my hands on that. UA-cam algorithm is like the matrix and all crazy. Glad you enjoyed it!
Jetta is much quicker than the Civic Sport 2.0 ...
The Civic Hybrid hatchback is the way to go imho. Power, mileage . Reliability and maintenance cost of Honda is lower … at least in Canada … where I live . So for me … not a Civic killer . The VW that tempts me is the GTI or R .
The screen….is a downgrade , old one is better. where is all the physical button ? The screen gonna be full of finger print . ….
Ima get gti
Look great..nicecontent..how is reliability and longevity,. D oes it have a wet belt timing belt?
It's a facelift, stop saying it's all new.
The back it’s ugly, that’s my only complaint.
No rear vents? Ugh
sorority girls everywhere will love it
Is that more a budget car?
Get the k4 instead
What’s a valtswin?
If there was optional awd it would be perfect.
Its iight. The screen is worse than previous and its still missing basic things like brake hold and parking sensors. Let alone rear vents. And whats the point of changing the hvac controls to capacitive. Just seems like change for the sake of change.
Horrible cost cutting, horrible CEO here and in Germany. Honda’ s not worried about the Jetta😂
Jettas sell like crazy in USA
This worth only 24k nothing more!
The base Jetta is like 22,ooo
Civic much better build quality
Not lately
Just so we’re clear, a Jetta will never do better than a Civic.
Civic is CVT 🤮
Civic is a Cvt and quite frankly this is a much nicer interior. I have no issues with a Jetta. It is a solid car and definitely worth a look
Nuff said
@@lucyfan1976 I’m speaking of sales figures. Annually, Honda sells over 200k civics and VW sells 1/4 of that. The interior may be better and the drivetrain, but more ppl will gravitate towards the civic. It’s the same for the Kia K5. I think it’s a beautiful car with better tech than the Camry and the Accord, however, it will not be appreciated much or sell as many units as said cars.
Oil dilution in civics
Just to be clear. The front corner lower bumper vents are non functional. No air passes thru them.
Are you sure? I can stick my hand fully through that and there is an opening on the other side. Other cars that have that allows air flow. 2024 were fake these are real now
You're wrong
