I had these gaming headsets back in the day, and they got so loud, that during the summer i would use them as a speaker. Got these 700s now and looking forward to the switch.
I’ve been using closed back for years but decided to go for the open back Dt 900 pro x. It’s so hard getting used to hearing your apartment and pc fans making noise while playing games or watching videos 😂 idk if I should return them and go with the 700 pro x or not…
I've had DT 770 Pro for some years now, and I can't imagine a life without them. But the DT 700 Pro X looks absolutely great, and I'm definitely going to try them out at some point. Also, I would love to see a wireless version or adapter at some time in the future.
@@TheProvokedPrawn I was just thinking that a mini Bluetooth adapter with a mic that connects to the mini XLR connector of the headphones would be absolutely amazing!
Thank you for a comprehensive review! I like the detachable cable and soft earpads but am a little concerned about their round interior. I will probably order them from Amazon so I can return them if they don't work out.
I am very conflicted about closed or open back. Mainly to use for monitoring mic, listening to music, watching movies. I like to sing along and know I don’t sound like a strangled cat thinking I sound like the artist I am listening to. But my husband and I live in a small place with our headphones being the only way to retain some of our privacy … Help!
@@TheProvokedPrawn Closed it is. Just made my order. You (and a few others) helped me decide on the HyperX Quad S mic. A bit obnoxious aesthetically but it sure is good value for money and can be fun to watch. Anyway. Thanks for this review. The audiophiles tend to get a bit overwhelming with their language when they do a review. So yours helped a lot (not saying you aren’t an audiophile)
9:23 I have Sennheiser 560s,120 ohm and Sennheiser 598cs 23ohm and the volume is exactly the same on 32% in Windows...BD dt900pro bit more quiet 42-52% volume in Win for same loudness
Hi greeting from Indonesia. I’m in the search for a pair of headphone that versatile enough to listen to the music and some video. I only use it for consuming media not mixing or producing any music. Also I listen to wide array of genre except hip hop/rap. Sometimes I still listening to electronic music tho. My previous hardware are a Senn PX 200(old gen) Bought it when I still on Junior High School. Senn 4xx(forget the exact type) and now I’m using AKG K420 and Sony XM4(tws) Should I go with DT 700 instead of cheaper DT 770 80ohm? I reluctant to buy another peripherals like expensive DAC or amp just to achieve the perfect experience of it. For now I’m just gonna use it from my iphone via Apple dongle and in the future I’m planning to buy a M2 MBA and probably buy an amp/digital streamer in the future for my audio setup in the living room. What do you think about my situation? Thank you.
The mini XLR input on the pair I got seem to have a weak connection. Feeling kinda sad since my hopes were very high for beyerdynamic, I'll see if they can be fixed
What are the differences between these and the DT770's? Also one other question, about the ear pads. The clip used to hold the pads in place, can that be removed and used on pads from another company?
Have they fixed the weak headband joints for big heads? My 770 PROs broke easily since my head is somewhat large. Never got to fixing it as all spare parts were just as flimsy. Wasted a lot of money on those pair of cans. 😭
New to the channel, great reviews! Thinking of getting these for a new, mostly PC gaming headset, thinking these will have better quality audio than gaming specific headsets? Have you tried the Antlion modmic wirelsss mic with such headphones, could be a good combo? Subbed!
@@TheProvokedPrawn Ah ha! The wireless version? Would be great to have a review, to understand how good the audio quality, connectivity, and magnetic attachment is
@@jpb2085 both versions 👍 probably going to be a couple of weeks before I have videos ready though as I've got other stuff to do first. But I did think of this headset when I was asked to look at them
Those cables might have the look of an xlr cable (so I get what you mean when you called it mini xlr) but I'm not sure if they are true xlr because it's passing a stereo signal across 3 pins which means it isn't truly a balanced signal?
@@zacdavis7 Hey, I'm not Prawn, but I can chime in here. I got these about 3 days ago, and I've got them plugged into directly into the rear I/O on my motherboard (Z390Gigabyte Aorus Pro) and they get PLENTY loud. I have Windows volume at around 40--50% and they're loud even at that. For me to hear my fiance while having music playing, they need to be at around 10%. Hope this helps.
Oh lord , you have such a soothing voice

I'm definitely grabbing these this month, they'll probably be my everyday headphones (I like to listen to a lot of music). Great review my guy!
Thanks. They're very nice. Hope you enjoy!
thank you for the review professor Snape!

I'm so satisfied with these headphones.
Had to widen the headband for less pressure, but besides that they're perfect
Yeah they're great.
how did you widen it?

If you don't want to hear the outside world or have sound bleed then go closed backs. These are one my favourites

Cable wrap

I didn't call it Mini-XLR, that's what Beyerdynamic has called it.
