I serendipitously stumbled across this show one day when channel-hopping. Something this good CANNOT be tucked away on CBBC. Why can't all sketch shows be like this?
I know I wouldn't like it if it happened to me, but I couldn't help laughing at this pretend advert. The pretend commercials are some of the funniest parts of this series.
You know how they splash Gatorade on a sports coach after wining a game? At the end of the school year, you pour honey and unleash a container of flies on your history teacher.
Im King Pepi 2nd but u can call me pharoh!!! Its driving me ccrrrrrrrraaaaaaaazzzzyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! Its so funny when he goes the super sticky honey slaves! lol i
@eilislorna 1. They are easy to transport cause they move themselves. 2. it does show King poistion in society. 3: Salve is slave, not human (that is how they did think)
@eilislorna the darn flies won't go there much. they like to go where the human is. I try to put food on the side for them flies but they keep coming on my food anyways.
What is the discussion ? as no one was discussing anything with you. Libyans ruled during the Twenty-third Dynasty and looked nothing like the old kingdom rulers of the 3rd, 4th, 5th dynasty or the middle kingdom 12th dynasty or the 18th dynasty Black Kings
@eilislorna Because he was the pharao and thought men/slaves where NOTHING. In fact the bowl wouldn't catch as much flys because its not as big as a human. Not a very nice story :(
@billiefan23 he says 'if there's one thing that drives me mad about this country is all these pesky flies' but then he went too american after that so I too couldn't understand.
Only if you are colour blind would you call them dark red, They are traditionally Dark Brown, They were also painted Black which symbolised power and resurrection(SEE background of this vid), Yellow skinned women represents gold for a Goddess. There are thousands of paintings of dark brown men and Women in Egypt. There are also Greco/roman style which came towards the end of dynastic Egypt and Asiatic scribes from earlier periods. But what about the Black Kings e.g. Sahure 5th dynasty
I don't know why but the way he says "Get gone varmint" is hilarious to me.
I remember reading this in the book :D I love it when they do bits I know from the books, cuz people always seem to forget about the books :/
love the eyeliner on Larry

dunno mate
one of life's mysteries init
It would be good if you could have one! This could be a immortal way to stop flies without killing them
the guy who plays King Pepi can be made to look so different...i didn't recognise him at first
King Pepi II's Modus Operandi: smear honey on his enemies and feed them to baboons
You'd think that the slave would be an unnecessary feature. All you'd really need is the honey, maybe smeared on a pole or something.
I know I wouldn't like it if it happened to me, but I couldn't help laughing at this pretend advert. The pretend commercials are some of the funniest parts of this series.
This is my favorite one. They need to show this on BBC too.
i love these clips
Larry Rickard! Thumbs up if you think he's legendary
@Sitauset should do. horrible histories is too amazing for you.
Hehehehehehe Larry's face at the end XP
I busted out laughing at 0:26.
0:26
Aw, man.
That is FUCKED UP!!!!
Haha! I feel bad for laughing!

Wow I did not know this, that would suck for the poor slave.
I could imagine it is just a power thing. "Look what degrading stuff I can do with my slaves! I'm so cool"
The first salesman
I wish this aired in Canada
king pepi is definetly peppy
King Pepi II seems like he would make a good billy mays.
I love this 😊🤣
Im King Pepi 2nd but u can call me pharoh!!!
Its driving me ccrrrrrrrraaaaaaaazzzzyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! Its so funny when he goes the super sticky honey slaves! lol i
I WANNA BUY 1!!
Nice idea.
mmmm.... i need try this
I suggest 'The Intrepid Internet Inhabitants'.
it was drivin me craaazy lol
This is too damn funny I almost wet my pants laughing so hard.
@eilislorna 1. They are easy to transport cause they move themselves. 2. it does show King poistion in society. 3: Salve is slave, not human (that is how they did think)
Those slaves would be lucky honey was very expensive back then :)
@TheRealJoni You don't have to pay for bowls if you're pharoah. Your country, your rules.
this should of been a shouty man lol
He died aged 100 so that makes him a centurian (as i think it is spelled like)
That can't be honey - it looks more like custard!
6 people didn't buy King Pepi's super sticky anti-fly honey slave
Why can't we get this show on BBC America instead of the same Gordon Ramsey episode for the 100th time?
I remember books!
They're like slightly bigger crows aren't they?
Hey I'm King Pepi the second but u can call me Pharoah!
I've never either
Pharaohs, you know..
Probably the easiest job for a slave ever.
Pfffft, good bowls are hard to come by. Slaves are a dime a dozen.
Was King Pepi from Texas? Because he sounds like he is :P
IT's Pepi II
he reminds me of the Zora girl from from "Sonny With a Chance" XD
Yet anouther reason why it sucks to be a slave.
Yaaaay :D
@HuskyLoverRebecca I guess it was for heightened hilarity.
is all these PESKY FLIES!!! jokes xD
wouldnt it have been simpler to put the honey in a jar or bowl or somthing near the window?
@eilislorna well putting the honey in a bowl would make to much sense now wouldn't it?
0:33 makes me laugh :)
@greener144 And not getting any damn honey that is not covered in flies and your sweat! XD
Did you know that king pepi II reighned for 94 years!!!!!!!
Allegedly.
@eilislorna the darn flies won't go there much. they like to go where the human is. I try to put food on the side for them flies but they keep coming on my food anyways.
He must be a Hyksos.
He could have just used a statue.
Amenhotep 3 (my Avatar) looks like a North Eastern African.
Middle eastern people look middle eastern
looks like custard!
Reminds me of donkey from shrek lol

Is this King Pepi II or I? :l
@eilislorna Because he was the pharao and thought men/slaves where NOTHING.
In fact the bowl wouldn't catch as much flys because its not as big as a human.
Not a very nice story :(
you have to keep people employed or enslaved in this case you know!
what the hell does that mean?
@billiefan23 he says 'if there's one thing that drives me mad about this country is all these pesky flies' but then he went too american after that so I too couldn't understand.
@BingleBanner lmaoo
Will you get gone varmant?!!!!??
*Varmint
Filmmake2000 yeh he does a bit
he acricinn
@KevlarNinja Then again, of all the slave jobs, being bothered by flies couldn't have been the worst lol
honey and flies not included. Lol
wait..the pharaoh's got an american accent??
@eilislorna Why pay for bowls when you have slaves?
He reminds me of Goldmember
Thumbs up if ya know what i mean
OMG ROFL
@KevlarNinja lol i guess so
lol
@eilislorna Because people is so much more fun!!
@billiefan23 Mmmm maybe, or having listened to it again, it sounds like ' would you get going from me'
It's actually 'Would you get gone, varmint?!'
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@billiefan23 all these pesky flies
@SasukeCoolGuy only 8 people agree with you. You shouldnt do thumbs up
varmint
@kkkkoolboy so's your english
@eilislorna slaves move around and are standing up i guss thats why
they should have kept 'awesome egyptians' instead of awful egyptians

If he's an Egyptian Pharaoh, why have an american accent?
@basher400 fore shits
wtf?
That's hilariously awful
Poor guys. Shouda put some on his head!
@soniccandice put on accent
Pepi 2 was not white
wtf accent lol!
The accent just ruins it completely
