They plowed that where the cattle are. It wont burn there.
It jumped a highway so we HOPE it will curtail this fire but we are supposed to get high winds again this weekend.
Can they blade it now and stop it ??

We have been but with 65mph sustained winds shifting directions nothing would stop it. Sad days here in the Lonestar state.
They've had dozers and maintainers out trying to cut fire lines. The terrain isn't helping any. Lots of canyons and ravines with tall, thick grass. With the winds blowing like they have been, you can't hardly keep up with it on a brush truck. Then there's the issue of water supply. It's hard to get tankers close enough to the fire line in that kind of terrain. By the time they drive out to the staging area for water, what headway they've made has been lost cause of the high winds. Most, if not all of those departments, are volunteer from small towns. Given the circumstances they've done a hell of a job!
When the video started I was shocked that the farmers weren’t out discing at least around their livestock. That’s the first thing they do when there’s a field fire bc it’s the only way to stop it.
They're not farmers. They're ranchers and don't have tillage implements.
Don’t have the equipment nor they had no time. It was moving way too fast.
Cows are safely in an agricultural field. Probably what most ranchers did because they are used to the prairie burning.

This kind of instances when we need all hands on deck with large equipment from the National Guard in any off-duty military this is just nuts and we need more people throwing at the problem I cannot even stand thinking about what's fixing to happen to a lot of the livestock in this area it's disgusting and there goes the price of beef on top of it insurance rates Skyrocket all of those other little things that is now going to affect all of us not just the newly homeless people

Hard to say. Incredible winds and very dry conditions. Static electricity, dropped cigarette? This is the worst month for fires here in Texas. It was terrible. 😢

Very suspicious as to the quantity of simultaneous fires at one time. Sure hope this is not another terrorist opportunist event. Prayers for everybody.!
There’s nothing suspicious about the amount of wildfires that are happening currently. It’s pretty common and natural when the conditions are right and in the kinda land like Texas, flat and grassy. Texas and much of the southern states and east coast have been experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures and Texas is in a drought. All that was needed to spark these wildfires in Texas was some strong gusty winds which occurred and now this is the result. This isn’t a terrorist attack or any foul play this is just nature.
You can even see in the video all of the dry dead grass and plants ahead of the burned fire grass. Very easily for wild fires to spark and spread from that with strong winds due to the drought and unseasonably warm temperatures.
Love seeing people that come on here speculating how FIVE fires is some crazy thing, absolutely ridiculous to say that this is some terrorist act by the government, fires are a part of life
