I love how in the last 20 seconds of Oogie Boogie Geoff goes from cruising altitude to 20,000 leagues under the sea.
More like a journey to the center of the earth. You need spelunking gear, two months of rations, and a wind-up lantern to get deep enough to find that E1 he pulled off so effortlessly.
There is no better sum up of Geoff’s voice
Nerd here. 20,000 leagues under the sea isn't a reference to a depth, it's a distance. 20,000 leagues is several times the diameter of the earth. Nerd gone.
@@MisterItchy Nerd here again. Thanks for doing my job for me. Nerd’s are stronger together.
@@MisterItchythird nerd here, thank you because I didn’t wanna type all that lol
I love watching the people who understand music and vocal performance while they listen to the penultimate notes of Geoff's deep dives. It's like -- (1) it's clear from his timbre that he's got room to go down. (2) It's clear from the cadence where the next note ought to be. But come on, there's NOOOooo way he's got THAT much more room..... (3) Jesus Christ.
I'm just impressed that someone used penultimate correctly, haha.
My personal favorite reactions to Geoff's low Bass notes are the one's from voice coaches, especially the female voice coaches
Wanna know something more scary he is still pretty young your voice gets way deeper as you age as a bass so imagine him at 60 years old.
i hate how they all listen to music through shit heapdhones or laptop speakers though...
@@bronsonleach3573 seeing how much of a powerhouse Bass vocalist that he is now, he'll be even more of one by the time he turns 60
The overwhelming reaction is, "How the hell is that possible?" Geoff's voice is super-human.
It's fake
@@wooshbait36 it's not fake lmao, go watch some of his videos
@@michaelthornes There's a lot of effects and post editing to sound like this
@@wooshbait36 sure, but it's not like he's artificially lowering his voice
ua-cam.com/video/XKLaYGHJoJM/v-deo.html
@@wooshbait36 He's got some live clips on his tiktok or the Q&A vids on his personal channel that I recommend checking out. Of course there's post-production bass boosting or whatever on the professionally produced clips, but he's certainly hitting the notes legitimately and cleanly.
Everyone has the same series of emotions when he does the end of Oogie Boogie Man:
Highest register: Delight
Midrange: Satisfaction
Low notes: Surprise
Subharmonic: Disbelief/inability to cognitively process
Don’t forget the second sub harmonic below the first: WHAT THE FUCK 😱
Me: So Geoff, what's your range?
Geoff *singing B flat 1*: YES.
Bb1 isn't really that low for subharmonics. His current lowest note is 1 whole octave and a semitone lower at B0
@@wongcayven9893 1 semitone less than an octave*
@@wongcayven9893 True - Geoff sings down to about G1 in chest/modal voice.
@@patheddles4004 …and B0 in subs. It still blows my mind 😄
Bass singers can sing way lower than a B flat 1 I'm not even a singer and my lowest note without subharmonics is an A1. These guys can go an entire octave down from that.
When you need spelunking gear to find that octave.
The captioning on the last note in "Oogie Boogie" says, "Subterranean." Yep, got that right.
😂
I love the way he melts people's faces and minds!! 😁
and impregnates those with wombs lmfao XD
There are two reactions for his voice. Shock or Swoon. There are no in betweens.
And most of the time it's both
"Swoon" is indeed the word I was looking for.
And the amazing thing is his wife is hard of hearing
Let's just say I swooned into shock. But I'm ok. I'm dead but I'm ok. It was worth it.
How about Shwoon?
The oogie boogie man. MAN I felt that last note vibrate in my chest. Amazing
I like how the general reaction is "wow that's low- WOW THATS LOW"
Watching Geoff Castellucci low note reactions is one of the few guilty pleasures I have
Alternate title: Bunch of women find out how it feels to be forced to ovulate by voice alone.
Shit Im a man and I ovulated a lil
Or how moist did it make you girls.
@sithlordbinks I sing even lower then that and when I sing with a mic it makes my whole body tingle. Mics hate my voice it takes a lot of work to get the mic set up for my voice. My range is A0 to E5
@@bronsonleach3573 hah, i doubt the quality of your A0 is anywhere near the same as any of geoff's , JD Summer's or Eric Hollaway's lows.
I've been a fan of Voiceplay for many years now and I love watching these because I can tell who are true virgin listeners of Geoffs voice just solely based on their reactions. Some I can tell still get impressed with his low tambour but the ones that legit nearly fall back in their chairs clearly never heard what Geoff is capable of before lmao. Having seen Voiceplay live twice, just hear him live. Its a chest and chair rumbling experience when he hits these notes live, let me tell you lol.
I will never not swoon at his voice lmao XD
I love how some people just touch their earphones to check if they were hearing right 😂
whats impressive is not just the lowness of his bass but his insane vocal range
A 5+ octave range. Most impressive.
Why did I imagine some sort of Palpatine-esque music Sith as I read this XD
@@thecatladytm7172 Something something something Dark Side!
Geoff is like a secret weapon 😂
The way it takes people a full second of hearing the note to realize what the heck they're actually hearing is my favorite part. Well, second to the stunned reaction, lol. It's amazing every time
This E1 in Oogie Boogie is probably the most well known, first exposure people have to subharmonics, which just makes for incredible reactions. IMO the best reactions are from people who are in the industry themselves, or at least have deep knowledge of music and sound, reacting to these kinds of massive "whoah!" kinds of artists. Jinjer, Polyphia, Geoff, Harry Mack, etc. The artists where quickly upon starting the first video, you know you're being exposed to something incredible happening. The people with deep musical knowledge make those reactions soo much more genuine, but also testament to the skill of that artist they're reacting to also.
When Geoff goes subwoofer......you just have to sit back and enjoy the show
Someone who has been practicing vocals for years:
So yeah, when I was little I always wanted to be astronaut, I think I'm going to do that.
I love how there are basically two reactions.
Reaction A: whoa, dude, that was so cool!! How'd he do that?!
Reaction B: O.O ...OK, imma need a minute alone here. One sec.
I’m a man, but if I was a woman, my drawers would be soaked
His voice is auditory testosterone.
Who’s gonna tell them
Great video! Just wish you had a couple other people on here, Kazandra Brock, Charismatic voice, Deadgrl Superstar, what it do dave and peter barber are some of my favorite voiceplay/geoff reactors. In fact the charismatic voice even has interviews on her channel with some of these artists and she did one I believe a year ago with Geoff!
I love all of these reactors too! They are so expressive.
Peter is amazing, definitely underappreciated in the acapella reaction sphere
@@officialmortius Hi Mortius! Love your channel too!
Another good one is Ken Lavigne!
@@officialmortius You're a part of my favorite reactor list too! I love how detailed you get with your reactions. Simply put I forgot to include all of my favorites lol.
I have seen most of these (if not all). Can't believe I found this video the same day it was uploaded and I allways like me some Geoff appreciation compilation, loved it! Though in every video he's in, there should be a warning for possible jaw fracture after it hits the floor.
everyone: dont go down the octave
geoff: how bout i do anyways
This is a fantastic compilation! I only wish I had begun reacting early enough to share my honest reactions of things like Sixteen Tons or Oogie Boogie… luckily, Geoff is always out to impress so there are always more opportunities for mind blowing to come 😄
I literally have a crush just because of his singing 😂. When I heard him sing for the first i got goosebumps and my heart fluttered.❤
I love how his voice brings so many to emotion. Everytime I listen to talent like this, I cry myself too. Amazing God given gifts!
This is great, have listened to almost all these reactors. The expressions were priceless.
Thanks you for making this. I enjoyed all of the reactions.
I came back to watch it again.
Anyone else think that Brad gets super lucky every time he shows her a bass video?
🤣🤣🤣
All the women are just like "what the actually heck is that depth!" Meanwhile all the men just stare like "I cant do that bullcrap!"
It's growling in tune. It's not that difficult, but easier to control with practice. Most guys have this ability. You probably do too but didn't realize you can use it while singing. It doesn't sound quite like that in real life though. It requires a microphone and the ability to remove the air sound that comes out with it naturally. Same thing he uses.
@@skydriver5709 yeah, I know, and I do use it in singing, though only when singing his songs. I dont do it much though because Im pretty sure I do it wrong, it hurts the back of the throat a lot when I do it.
@@warlord733 yea, stop when it hurts. Took me months of doing it pretty regularly before my throat was comfortable with it. My main issue was I'd find a note that was comfortable, but if I changed it, it would tickle my entire esophagus and trigger coughing.
@@skydriver5709 yeah, Im about in the same stage I think
@@skydriver5709 Nah, Geoff primarily uses subharmonics. He doesn't growl much. Tim Foust, on the other hand, is amazing at growls and uses them all the time.
1:28 not just dropping an octave, but the sustain...! 🙀😻
If they aren’t listening with earphones, they’re missing out
Geoff hits the foghorn notes 🎶 in his bass voice.
Geoff is an alien. There is no other logical explanation
Drinking game: take a shot every time Geoff's low notes make someone cream their jeans
do not try this people will die of alcohol poisoning
thank you for compiling this! Its hilarious :D :D
That low notes in the end of Boogie man are cool but with the high part before it it's better.
I've heard him in an interview that that's just his natural pitch! No wonder he's one of my favorite singers
Tim, Geoff and Avi all 3 give us ladies a certain reaction that's just primal.
The low notes are absurd but, more attention should be given to the man’s range. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a man with a range like that.
the way she said eww im ready🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I seriously need the science behind this women reactions...lol
1:07 "I'm ready!" 😂😅🤣
It's so nice that all talking here about the low note of Geoff.
The answer: He didn't sing that word in this octave. He did buzzing with closed mouth only for this tone.
Geoff talked in one of his videos about this song.
Watching reactions to GeoffQuakes never gets old.
These low tones are epic
Geoff is the reason why I learn subharmonics & 2nd subs and i'm not even a singer!
I was so fascinated by that now I can sing along his song in my car while driving to and from work!
But I still can do the last note in OOGIE BOOGIE
Tomi P is the reason i learned whistle and inhale notes and im not a singer and now rarely i can hit his E6s and F6s
I love people's reactions to Oogie Boogie because you expect him to go low, what you don't expect is when he goes SUBTERRANEAN
Why am I the only one who has never reacted to Geoff like this? I just say "Wow, that's awesome, I gotta learn to go that low"
For me it's the moment where they know it's gonna go down the octave or just drop completely but when it hits, the shock. You can't get ready for Geoff
Geoff cracked the earth with that last Oogie Boogie note
So fricking good !!!!!!!
Note range last few measures of Oogie Boogie.
My ear drums on highest: "wow, good range and pitch."
On final note: "WAUGH! Someone check the nearest seismograph!" 😵
😹🤣😂 *Everyone there is prepared to be the one to bear him many fine sons!*
Geoff has a wonderful voice, I hope he enjoys using it. WOW!!!!!!!!💙💚💛❤💜💜🙃🙃
Geoff Castellucci -- his low notes are measured on the Richter scale.
Nice! But you missed Qofy’s reaction to Hoist the Colours-you really have to see that. Best reaction ever to a Geoff low note. In fact, then King Family Reacts did a reaction to Qofy’s reaction! Hilarious!
Geoff's low notes are lower than cheating on your wife/husband
99% to 100% of these people fell in love with geoff you can just tell
Gotta dig the way Geoff goes from lower than most men to EARTHQUAKE !!!!
First time I listened to the oogie boogie song and heard that note at the end I replayed it and tried to match it. Turns out I have the same range as Geoff 😂
Can you hit his high notes, too?
@@danacarpendersketoloworno2043 My highest is a B5 but I cant hit it consistently. Consistently I can probably hit up to like a B4 without challenging myself too much
@@danacarpendersketoloworno2043 So yea I can hit his high notes too lol
I can go as low as C1 but my highest is only D4
@@wongcayven9893 I've been able to hit a n A0 but the lowest I can hit consistently is usually around a D1 to C1
In the words of Ryan Reynolds, when watching one of Geoff's videos. . .wear your white pants.
Was going to say the look on the ladies faces says they need a mop,but most of the guys looked like they need 1 as well 😂😂
That dudes voice is lower than my credit score! 🤣
his lowest notes are a spiritual experience 😂
Interviewer: “Ok Geoff, what is your range again?”
Geoff: “Yes.”
Interviewer: “Um.. what? Your range…?”
Geoff: “Is ‘Yes’.”
I love how he kinda hints going up but instead drops an octave 😂
We are going to need a part 2
The lack of floaties, left no survivors.
If anyone is wondering what note Geoff reaches at the end of Oogie Boogie's Song, the note is an E1
Every single reactors face says the exact same thing the first time they hear Geoff hit the basement, “did that seriously come out of his fucking mouth??? HOW!?” And I’m here for it
Geoffquakesgasms
There's another part in the oogie boogie song where jack hits a little bass rif underneath a solo and i swear he goes lower there
Fantastic video! Check out reactor “Lieben Toten” too! This made me laugh 😂 so much!
3:03 he was expecting the drop but not an E1😂
There’s bass then there blowing ya car windows out bass. Never playing his Geoff’s covers in the car.
Never heard of him until today. All I can say is Holy Crap
Timgasms.. Geoffquakes.. i wonder what title would be for Avi Kaplan..
You're not the only one. I'm open to suggestions 😃
Avilanches??
You don't hear his note at the end of the Oogie Boogie song, you feel it
Geoff's voice is really chill and soft. But in my opinion Tim Foust has a little lower bas 😉 I love voices both of them 😊
4:39 Bro's expression changed in 6 frames
Men, let's reunite the council.
This man is a menace.
Everyone goes from 😃 to 😲
How about Avilanches for Avi Kaplan?😁
I had the same thought while editing this video, but wasn't sure about it. Seeing it written out and having it independently suggested has moved it to the top of the list. Thanks!
When you said (they oogie boogie maaaaaan) when you said man is it the lowest you can go
He didn't go down an octave, he went to the 4th... but so impressive.
I desire to have his voice! I want to practice such thing!
My lowest notes on a daily basis is like D-C1 and highest is D#5 or around but sometimes i can go into the 6th octave now like G0-F/F#5 (tryna get 5 octaves)
I wonder if there's actually an idiot out there that believes Geoff's low notes are auto tuned
It’s kinda funny how many people (not just women) need a cigarette after Geoff.
Lmao!! So great
Se essa foi a reação ao Geoff, imagina quando descobrirem sobre JD Sumner , Mikhail Zlatopolsky 😂(translate to English)
This needs to be renamed. Involve Maury and dna tests.
Secret: burps into the mic
Like the video, but can you please work to even out the sound of the reactor? It's hard to hear them sometimes. Keep up the good work.
I'll have to get better at audio engineering before I'll be comfortable tinkering with that end very much. I try to weed out most of the clips with too much discrepancy, and work to make sure the clips are as normalized as possible, but I'm pretty new at all this.
Poor Saddy clause dam I bet S.C had a code brown after this play 😆🤣😂

That was pretty much my reaction in my brain
