Fun fact: Rachel performed as Ariel at Disney World for years. And actually Eli (guy in yellow) is the tenor, J-None (Sebastian) is the baritone. Just everyone in this group have massive vocal ranges, so they can basically all take each other's parts if they wanted. Geoff alone has like 5 octaves
At this point, if other members started busting out subharmonic tones, I wouldn't bat an eye. I feel like these guys can do anything. So can Rachel. In love with them all.

"...any other medleys that I should react to from VoicePlay" All of them. No, seriously, damn near anything that VoicePlay has done is worth the reaction. One just kind of... heart-breaking thing about them is that one of their members just moved on from the group early last year. He was an original member of the group and how long he'd been with the group was just... incredible. Don't get me wrong, they're still killing it after his departure, but he's been such a constant that I still miss him. This is actually from after his departure, and what the group does when a member leaves (which has happened once before since they've really been hitting UA-cam) is that they'll cycle through featured guests as they work to find a suitable new permanent fifth member. J-None is one who had several songs "featuring J-None" before they dropped that, and he just became a permanent member of the group. As for Geoff being a bass, he actually is a self-described baritone, who at one point wanted to be a rock tenor. What's worse is that he's got a solo channel where he will layer himself, and sing four or five parts within a song. It's just not fair getting to listen to him rock all of the ranges. He even did a cooperation piece with a group called The American Sirens on a song called Mele Kalikimaka, and they just killed it. On top of that, he just released an hour-long video of him reading the original Hans Christian Andersen book, The Little Mermaid. An hour of his voice. I haven't yet mustered the strength to watch more than the introduction from it.
If you want to hear his absolute best bass you need to watch oogie boogie song. He's singing most of it and the endnote is probably not even on your keyboard.
I still want them to do one entire song where they're all completely out of their normal lanes the whole time. Geoff on tenor, Eli on percussion, etc. It would be a bit of a dumb flex, but it would be so fun for their fans, and we all know they're entirely capable of it.
Another rachel/Voiceplay medley where she's really showcased is the phantom of the opera medley... She makes an awesome Christine. She also did a moana medley with them!

Eli (bald guy), and J'None (black guy) are both easily able to sing Tenor to bass, but Eli usually does Tenor, and J Baritone. People tend to forget that Layne isn't an instrument. I second all the suggestions of the Voiceplay and Geoff singles, but I haven’t seen anyone mention VP’s Queen in 5 Minutes, which is amazing. The singing is phenomenal, but the acting is worth multiple watches.
Btw Hannah, the bass has done a voice over reading of the origin story of Ariel by Hans Christian Anderson, it is ear-candy. His name and channel is Geoff Castellucci

I love Geoff! (the bass, Geoff Castellucci). he has videos where he talks about his technique and even does awesome solo stuff you could react to. I have learned to do similar technique but it's not quite the same as a true bass and the tone on the low notes is beautiful.
Perfect combination, Rachel Potter features in Voctaves Poor Unfortunate Sould that also mashed up with I Put a Spell On You. It’s fantastic and shows off soo much of her range.
A lot of people have mentioned Oogie Boogie Song for hearing Geoff flex even more. I would also recommend checking out his solo stuff. He does videos where he does ALL the parts. I particularly like his cover of Blackbird which shows off his subharmonic technique and Sixteen Tons which he did the low notes with all chest.
I'm a teacher and this is a music video I play for my students all the time and they LOVE it. They also really like Voiceplay's cover of "Kidnap Mr. Sandy Claus" from Nightmare Before Christmas, and some more good songs from Voiceplay are Oogie Boogie Song (bass really shines in that one), Queen in 5 minutes, Boy bands in 5 minutes, and Daddy Sang Bass. My students also LOVE their Moana medley they have as well.
VoicePlay is AMAZING! The one playing Sebastian is J. None btw, he is so talented, they all are so incredible. And they actually are looking for a 5th member 😉
Ive been obsessed with these guys. Their tours are. Eli (ellie) is the bald guy. The guy who sings Under the Sea is J None. The bass is Geoff (Jeff) and the percussionist is Layne. I suggest listening to their Moana medley and their Frozen cover.
I also really enjoy their stuff from before Earl left the group. That screaming tenor! Very distinctive on top of those beautiful stacked harmonies they do. Their cover of True Colors from the Earl era is very sweet. And Can't Help Falling In Love.
@@joyfulyes yeah I definitely agree and even from years ago I have been a huge fan and continue to enjoy them because that's what is fun about them is they always make themselves enjoyable
This video is so fun! And just so you know, one of the reasons why you are an AMAZING reactor is that even when you’re not saying anything, you have so many different facial expressions that convey your range of emotions so well! This video brought many huge smiles to my face and now I feel energized! :)
I really really love this. The perfect song for you to discover VoicePlay. I love how you mix up the tenor and baritone - testament to their ability!!! I love how you call out Geoffs G3 as his top of range, and then when he kicks it up an octave, then reaches a D5 you only say "who is he?". So much fun, thank you! I would love to see your reaction to both "If I were a rich man/girl" and "We don't talk about bruno", both featuring Ashley Diane. So great!!!!!!!!
Their Moana medley is fantastic but you HAVE to listen to their Phantom of the Opera feat. Rachel as Christine, and Tony Wakim is still in the group for Phantom as well as Earl. Phantom is literally my all time favorite! they've also got a Disney heros and Villans medleys which are fun. I absolutely love Voiceplay! Also Eli is pronounced like 'Ellie' and he is 'Flounder/Scuttle'in this video and J-None is Sebastian, and of course Layne on beatboxing as 'Prince Eric/Chef Louis', and Geoff's Ursula was amazing
i neeeeed you to react to andrew barth feldman. he was evan hansen for a year and won a jimmy award when he was a sophomore. he’s gonna be in the second season of hsmtmts. he’s amazing!!!!
Aww 🥰 Their Moana medley is lovely, Queen in five minutes is a cool story, Boy Bands in five minutes is hilarious, and Geoff has done solo covers on his channel : ) He also sang lead in their Oogie Boogie Song cover!
You HAVE to watch more of Geoff's stuff he is the bass and he talks about all hi bass singing and his techniques and his own solo videos where you can get a great feel of his awesomeness!!!
If you love the bass, Home Free is another Acapella group I recommend!! They are incredibly talented and have performed with VoicePlay in the past too :D
First time I heard Geoff singing couple of years ago (I think it was their Moana medley) I was just completely blown away, and fell in love with his voice completely
Rachel has worked with Voiceplay several times, through several personnel changes in the group. She was in the Moana medley when Earl was still in the group before J. None joined. She did Phantom of the Opera and several other songs with them when Tony was still with the group. I think she's a great fit and I always enjoy when I see "featuring Rachel Potter" on a Voiceplay video.
I remember watching this a while ago, you " said voiceplay has 900K subscribers defenitly too cool for me". now I look at your subscriber count :) 906K I applaud you

Beautiful, isn't it? I watched The Little Mermaid in the movies as a child when it was released and it stuck in my mind forever. When I see a new arrangement of something that classic, I usually get super "protective" of the original, but these guys totally rocked it.
You can easily do a Halloween theme with Voiceplay- Any of their Nightmare before Christmas covers, especially OoGie Boogie Song, and Geoff's solo stuff too! Soo good! Oh yea, their 'Hoist the Colors' is amazing too!!
Voiceplay featuring Rachel performing "Phantom of the Opera" is a must watch. Another fun tune with Rachel is "Kidnap the Sandy Claws". In that video they are all in costume and makeup with Rachel as Shock. Eli as Lock, J. None as Barrel, it is a lot of fun.
Hannah My Love… I’ve loved each of your reaction videos to date and I’m planning to begin my own reaction videos very soon. I will turn 70 in May of 2021. I began singing Acapella harmony at about age 4 when my dad taught me both melody and harmony to many of his old Glee club songs. I also sang 5 years in the children’s choir at church, and in the Freshmen Choir in High School. When I was 14, Dad started bringing me to his Barbershop chorus shows and District Quartet contests. And at 16, I joined his chorus. Today, I’m an inactive 54-year Life Member, and 1987 International Chorus Champion [as a Tenor with the West Towns Chorus] of the Barbershop Harmony Society [BHS]. I also spent time in the BHS contest judging program. And, I sang in over 60 Barbershop Chorus and Quartet District contests over 20+ years with one of my quartets finishing as high as 3rd Place. Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of Barbershop Quartets & Choruses. But also, most forms of Acapella - from; to Pentatonix, to Home Free and VoicePlay. To college groups like BYU’s Vocal Point, Noteworthy and the Yale Whiffenpoofs. To Multi-trackers like Sam Robson, Danny Fong and Rhett Roberts. Plus, groups like; Take 6, The Real Group, Singers Unlimited, and so many others including what in my humble opinion is currently THE Greatest Acapella Group on the Planet - VOCTAVE! So. I believe I'm well qualified to my own Reaction Videos critiquing Acapella Groups. And, I look forward to introducing you to more Acapella Music. I don’t know how much you know about VoicePlay. They competed in Season 4 of the NBC-TV Acapella competition show - Sing-Off. But in my humble opinion, they got knocked out early because at that time they had a female singer no where near as good as Rachel. Otherwise, they might have given the winners - Home Free - a run for their money. Since you loved VoicePlay’s Mermaid Medley with Rachel Potter, and you asked for another Medley by VoicePlay with Rachel. Here it is, and I think you will love it as well. I highly recommend Geoff's Sixteen Tons & Headless horseman covers, as well as Oogie Boogie by the full Voiceplay group. Really mind blowing bass notes.
That was the best little mermaid mash up I've ever seen, I used to sing 'a part of your world' and cry 😂 before my voice broke so that movie holds a soft spot in my heart forever!
So Rachel has been on Broadway, and she also did the Xfactor back in the day lol. There are a ton of great videos you could react to from her, BUT one of my favs is her singing For Good with Kristen Chenoweth! ua-cam.com/video/3cAEBx0HrXs/v-deo.html

If you enjoy the Disney stuff, their Moanna medley is also totally amazing, and their Frozen medleys are also really good. Really you can't go wrong with any of their medleys, they are all super fun!
A good way to get happy and energized is their mega collaboration, "Just Sing!" It's like a hall of fame/who's who of the a cappella universe, and if you turn on the close caption button, they tell you who everyone is as they appear. I highly recommend it.
Geoff Castellucci. His cover of far over the misty mountains is a good one if you want to hear a fat G1 in chest voice from him. His cover of Sixteen Tons is good too.
If you wanted to react to more Rachel Potter, I would recommend her Animazement - Disney Trio with Jamey Ray and E.J. Cardona from Voctave. Chills Every Time!
We're quite spoiled by PTX, Home Free, Voice Play, Voctave, and several other groups. Others have mentioned many of the others (Moana being the most natural one to do next.) The Phantom of the Opera is often overlooked.

Looks like you haven’t checked out Voiceplay’s other stuff yet. You’re in for a huge treat. I agree-check out Oogie Boogie’s Song, but also My Mother Told Me or Hoist The Colours (from Pirates of the Caribbean). This was a super reaction so I want to see more!
Great reaction and analysis! VoicePlay is fantastic :) If you're looking for medleys, I'd suggest their Frozen or Moana ones. Geoff Castellucci (the bass) also has his own solo channel where he does bass covers and narrations. His recent one, Sixteen Tons, is fabulous!
Halloween is coming up, and it is time to react to the Oogie Boogie Song. for a bit of added fun, turn on the closed captions at the end, there is an easter egg on the final note.

Okay her being so excited by the video is making me smile, the energy just makes me feel really good
I can't believe I have never heard of this group before... they are incredible!
You're great. Also, one of my favorite things in the world is seeing people be blown away by Geoff for the first time.
Anyone else think Ursula kinda looks like Geralt of Rivia if he was a smurf
He reminds me of The Guardian from the dark room lol
🤣
well i would say DnD stereotype dark elf...
LOL
Ok now that you've said it, that's all I can see
Rachel and Geoff both have incredible range. I really love it when Geoff hits those low notes, what my Dad called down in the basement.
Rachel Potter was on the x factor, her audition was great!
Their Moana, Little mermaid, Oogie Boogie, Panic at the disco and Queen videos are my absolute favorites ♥
Me too! Thank you for this video. 🙂
I was literally listening to the Little Mermaid Broadway Recording when I saw this
Their Moana medley is fantastic but you HAVE to listen to their Phantom of the Opera feat.
He’s not a bass as well
from memory that vocal thingy Geoff did was D5 to D2 and then he dropped into a subharmonic to hit a D1
the D1 and D2 come at the same time, it's double tracked to make the drop more powerful
What I love about this video is when Geoff says “sing it with me now” but he didn’t actually say it, but looks off to see who did
1 year later and your almost 900 k subs!!!!! So much for you being too cool for them!!! You are brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you love the bass, Home Free is another Acapella group I recommend!! They are incredibly talented and have performed with VoicePlay in the past too :D
First time I heard Geoff singing couple of years ago (I think it was their Moana medley) I was just completely blown away, and fell in love with his voice completely
Geoff summons his notes from the bowels of the earth. Whatever deal he made, it was worth it.
I loved this sooo much I also loved Ariel. She was my Disney Princess as a kid❤️😍
I've watched this a few times and it's SUCH a great react! And I'm sad you haven't done any more Voiceplay or Geoff's solo stuff!
“Look at my platypus” 😭😂😂
phineas?!?!
I remember watching this a while ago, you " said voiceplay has 900K subscribers defenitly too cool for me". now I look at your subscriber count :) 906K I applaud you
Welcome to the wonderful world of voiceplay and Geoff castelluci!! Geoff has his own channel and you need to react to all of his covers on there especially blackbird!! Also you can’t go wrong reacting to anything that voiceplay has done as well!!
I have like seen this almost 10 times now! It's just so goooood
Now i have seen it like 20 times aha
That basss 😱😱 ya know he doesn’t even class himself as a true bass and Idek how…. Listen to ogie boogie man on voice play, he’s range is ridiculous! Love ya vids xx
He’s not a base as well 😅
Beautiful, isn't it?
You need to react to Madison Reyes (Julie) covers of dreaming of you
Hannah My Love… I’ve loved each of your reaction videos to date and I’m planning to begin my own reaction videos very soon.
Moano Medley:

Please do more Rachel Potter reactions! She's amazing and has an incredible voice, she needs way more recognition
I've watched this reactive video probably 10+ times ... your reaction to Voiceplay is just so pure. I can't stop smiling when i watch. Thank you!

Welcome to the ridiculous fun of VoicePlay. I cannot get enough of this medley myself. Hope you will be enjoying Voiceplay more in the future. If you enjoy the Disney stuff, their Moanna medley is also totally amazing, and their Frozen medleys are also really good. Really you can't go wrong with any of their medleys, they are all super fun!
This video is so amazing Hannah!💖
A good way to get happy and energized is their mega collaboration, "Just Sing!" It's like a hall of fame/who's who of the a cappella universe, and if you turn on the close caption button, they tell you who everyone is as they appear. I highly recommend it.
You absolutely HAVE to do their Oogie Boogie cover. He hits a note so low you won't think he's human anymore.
As a person who listened to voiceplay before this I was just waiting on her to hear Geoff. He is truly amazing.
You should definitely react to VoicePlay’s Phantom of the Opera medley! It’s amazing! Also, I love your videos Hannah:) Keep it up!
I know this group and I am so giddy watching your reaction and I am sitting here saying thing slike "yup that Geoff reaction allright" :D
I IT JUST ME OR DOES SHE LOOK LIKE ARIEL?😆
Geoff Castellucci. His cover of far over the misty mountains is a good one if you want to hear a fat G1 in chest voice from him. His cover of Sixteen Tons is good too.
If you wanted to react to more Rachel Potter, I would recommend her Animazement - Disney Trio with Jamey Ray and E.J. Cardona from Voctave. Chills Every Time!
I'm gonna listen to that next. Love EJ Cardona's voice! (loved his "Go The Distance" with VoicePlay)
We're quite spoiled by PTX, Home Free, Voice Play, Voctave, and several other groups. Others have mentioned many of the others (Moana being the most natural one to do next.) The Phantom of the Opera is often overlooked.
Its so much fun hearing so many voice coaches call him a true base and Geoff is just like "Huh? me? nah im baritone that can sing some base"
VoicePlay's MOANA MEDLEY feat. Rachel Potter at ua-cam.com/video/4nM5JZ6DL_U/v-deo.html and Voctave's Poor Unfortunate Souls/I Put A Spell On You also featuring Rachel Potter at ua-cam.com/video/O3zKr-3P0VM/v-deo.html are both great!!
200 views, 0 dislikes. The world is at peace 😍
Lol guess again 😶
Oogie Boogie; Sixteen Tons; Blackbird; Bang; Carry on my Wayward Son; Grinch
So many lol
that bass is incredible i can’t believe someone’s voice can go that LOW
Voiceplay Phantom of the Opera !! Think you would love reacting to it. It’s really fun !
The Oogie Boogie song and the Phantom of the Opera are great songs that they did.
Halloween is coming up, and it is time to react to the Oogie Boogie Song. for a bit of added fun, turn on the closed captions at the end, there is an easter egg on the final note.
"Ariels" voice is so heartwarming.
so recently, i’ve been having the hardest time accepting the fact that my range has changed from a soprano to an alto from puberty and you have helped me so much with trying to explore my range and see what i can do, while also helping me explore mixing and utilizing my chest voice which has always been VERY hard for me to do. sooo thank you!
