    *Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*

    Every thing about Tuna fishing is awesome. From selecting your boat and engine, then your tackle, rods, reels, lures, learning all the knots, or going with crimps, talking with other anglers about when and where to go, taking time off work planning a trip, to going out and hunting for them, to the hook-up, the fight, and the catch - and then the eating....
    I am so Jealous, I can't carry enough fuel with my stinking two-strokes to get out there yet.... But the Yamaha 4 strokes are coming... Another 18 months and I should have enough cash to go and have a pair fitted.... I CAN'T WAIT....
    Keep these mouth watering videos coming please guys ;)

    Awesome job! I need to stop wasting time fishing for trout and get stuck into the salt water monsters. 61cm pb rainbow no longer seems impressive to me.
    Keep up the great work

    Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.

    question, why do people seem to use gaffs on tuna like these? is it a safety thing?

    Nice one. Great fishing on skiffs, a buddy and I got a 159 lb. bigeye on a cd18 rapala in his 18 foot Stringari. 3 1/2 hours of getting my tail kicked. Couldn’t pull hard since I was afraid I’d bend the little trebel hook.

    Just a heads up for better audio. Could you guys please... please.. disable the ratchet on the reels once the hookup has happened. Pet peeve IRL and even worse for audio on a fishing show. :)
    (if at all possible on those reels, i'd imagine so given i've yet to see a reel that doesn't allow it to be disabled. and yes i can see it may be of benefit to give viewers and audio-able indication of when drag is being peeled off... but hmm. still think after initial runs it should be off).

    Why not chase it forward out to one side? Will cut your fight times down considerably.

    • @YouFishTV
      @YouFishTV  5 років тому

      We do. Depends on the position of the fish. Usually chasing them too much extends fight times as the fish don’t have to work against the drag and they get don’t tire.

      @@YouFishTV Depends what you are fishing for and how high in the water column they are. As an example current world record SBT on 15kg (143.7kg on 15kg line) was in the boat within 10 min as it stayed on the surface so was able to be reversed onto and gaffed very quickly. I see you guys are only fishing in very shallow water though so might be a different ball game. Where we get them off Sydney is usually 500m+ deep so if they want to go deep there is not much you can do except drive off them and change the angle of the line to try and get them back up. If you can get in front of the fish you can lead them to the surface pretty quickly, they will try and change direction but will usually sit into the current. Definitely easier to pull it from the front rather than from the back. Great show!

    • @YouFishTV
      @YouFishTV  5 років тому

      We’ve caught a few between 113kg 138kg in 10 mins too and had others go 3 hours. Depends on the fish and conditions mainly.
