I know that my own fishing isn't perfect. I've missed a few gaffs, and broken a few rods myself over the years.

I've got a month off from mid Nov to mid Dec, and about to get a new pair of 115 Yamaha's fitted - might have to head over to Port McDonnell to "run them in" I think... Wouldn't hurt to drop by Portland on the way either...

I have been fishing for 60 years but never for trophy fish from an outboard. Maybe I have a lesson to learn but the boat operator should keep the fish off the stern or rear quarter of the boat. The rod broke because of poor boatmanship. The fish was boated because of the expertise of the rodman.

Sick video great content. Would you happen to have the footage of ripping out the guts and putting it in a chiller bag? Would be a good video so that people learn how to properly care for their fish as I've heard with big tuna the sooner you can rip the guts and organs out the better as they can "cook" the fish from the heat.

I just don't get the zooming around back and forth and in circles. I've never tried to fight the fish with a boat, I've always used the rod, line and reel.

Have you used only 65lb braid in 25k? that's 630yds .... wouldn't 80lb be better?
65lb braid breaks at a lot higher than 65lb and is never going to break at 12kg of drag which is about as much as you could run over that reel for an extended time. so why wouldn’t you go for more capacity? Best way to stop a big tuna fast is to let them take a lot of line on the first run at medium drag to tire them then crank it up.

Great rods. Just can’t lift them on that angle. Which is the same with any rod. Probably slightly under done fishing PE 6 on fish that size.

Fish got in under the boat the fish snapped the rod (too long rod) not the angler plus oi that gaff man needs to put the gaff down get some gloves and grab the leeder thatd put an end to it. Instantly grab leeder bail arm off get the meat hook in
