    Why no ice ???

    Nice catches, It definitely makes sense staying on the troll to fill the bag for paying clients. Does anyone target these with active fishing (jigs or bait) rather than trolling with the winches deployed astern? Great video, tight lines and following seas...

      Cheers bro, but yeah for sure bait is usually a very good option but we forgot to bring bait that day otherwise I reckon we probably would’ve been able to get some more action but I never really hear of anyone using or getting any of these big dogs on jigs down here. Or even using stickbaits or poppers can be an option it just might take a bit longer and be a better chance of losing them.

    U launch from sore to right so do u go past the foul ground for those big one or do u just fish Barwon heads?👍

      Yeah man we fished both areas as there was a fair bit of action around both places.

    Why don't you have those fish on ice

    • @dylanrogersfishing3015

      Normally do, just we definitely did not have enough ice for them but we did our best to keep wet rags and towels on em but for the most part it was pretty freezing cold the entire day.

    What speed are you doing when trolling for these?

      Usually Whatever speed I can get up to without the hardbody jumping (if I’m running one) otherwise just when the skirts look like they’re swimming good

      And just to let you know the fish were not junk and none of it went to waste.

    How bloody disgusting, great fishing, those bluefin, laying on the deck for hours and hours on end with no ice no fish bag who needs that much tuna, one of those would’ve been enough. No wonder our fishing is getting a bad name if you are a captain charterboat you should be ashamed the way you treated those bluefin.

    • @dylanrogersfishing3015
      @dylanrogersfishing3015  Рік тому

      Cheers brah, but keep in mind we did our best to keep wet towels and rags on the fish and it was an 8 degree day (it was freezing) and when no fish goes to waste I really don’t see the problem, and also No one is preparing enough ice for that much fish!

      @@dylanrogersfishing3015 ahhh yea gotcha! invest in heshing bags bro “potato bags” lay them over the fish, i haven’t done it with tuna but i reckon it would work, i’ll either take 2 320L esky’s with me full of ice, just incase i get a couple big barrels, or even a couple swords

    • @dylanrogersfishing3015
      @dylanrogersfishing3015  Рік тому +1

      Yeah normally we have ice in the esky but we just got back from Malaysia the day before and it was a last minute decision to do the trip but yeah might have to give the heshing bags a go otherwise usually we have a few towels to wet and keep over the fish.

      @dylanrogersfishing3015  Рік тому

      So no thought as to who would prepare anywhere near enough ice for 6 giant barrels, and there was nothing wrong with the meat so cheers for the praise on the mint job 🤙

    • @dylanrogersfishing3015
      @dylanrogersfishing3015  Рік тому

      Yes your right but because we run a charter these people on the boat are paying customers and all these fish are going off to different places so as long as it’s within the bag limit the amount we keep is really up to the customers.

    • @Maddfisher
      @Maddfisher Рік тому +1

      Yea fair enuff but It’s important to teach people the importance of sustainability just my thought on it so we can all enjoy catching fish like this in the future great video though can’t wait to get myself a barrel this year hopefully 🤞

    Jeeeez.... WHY take so many!?!?! I darn well hope they all made it freezers and fridges and got eaten rather than become trophies?

    • @dylanrogersfishing3015
      @dylanrogersfishing3015  Рік тому +1

      Basically all of it was eaten before any of it even needed to be put in the freezer. Half the fun of it for us is being able to take the fish home for a feed and share it out to anyone we know. We’re not gonna keep it if we know we’re not gonna be able to use it.
