Fun fact : Mastermind controlled Tank (on mission briefing) can attack your MCV even before the game start. Already experience once, and sudden ragequit
Phenomenal mission, pretty straightforward too. My only complaint is that tesla troopers weren't available. Well, sure maybe their uniform isn't as sealed as desolator's one, but hey, they could make things up like the tanks! Would be so much fun to have these 3 types of infantry.
It is sad, But testla troopers have that idle animation where they open their helmets, so that would be lore breaking. Maybe that’s why they skipped them?
I thought it was a nice touch that Desolators could be built on this mission, even though they are kind of useless. Technically though, Tesla technology wouldn't work in a vacuum, at least not very well, because of the lack of atmosphere to transmit the electricity, but physics schmysics!
@@cwjian90 It can (permittivity of free space), and looking it up, it's not that much lower than air. However, it doesn't ionise and produce lightning bolts, which also provides a path of low resistance, allowing it to be sustained. It's more of a charge leakage.

@@WaterCrane In order to direct electricity at a target a Tesla coil would need an ionised "beam" anyway, otherwise the electricity would just arc along the path of least resistance.
I wish they made it as an easter egg that if you didn’t destroy the flag and build a base, the flag will change to a Soviet flag. They already made flag change in the first RA2 mission.
I really liked the level design on this map, the Gatlings and psychic towers are just out of range of each other, so both your tanks and cosmonauts complement each other in getting rid of Yuri’s defenses
It'd be fun to have a video with funniest misheard unit quotes. For example I, being not a native English speaker, remember thinking that Apocalypse says "I'll die at eighteen" instead of "Annihilating"
Damn, they forgotten to bring a flag... And actually, this is probably the first time that modding of unit is possible. It makes me search through this subject, like how they created a freaking rocketeer to shoot laser. This mission can be complete with cosmonaut alone, actually, if you are quick enough to manoeuvrer the Gatling tanks and guns.
I won't! In fact, I say they should've revisited this concept for future games! Once I saw a mod for RA3 that turned the MIR station into the Soviet's Superunit, my imagination went wild! Imagine lunar missions where your units and vehicles are limited, but everything is designed to look like the space programs adopted from the 60's to 80's? Hell, as for resources, take the Generals path and let the factions have a "Landing Pad" where rockets from their respective factions would periodically drop down and give you 2000 or so credits! Encourage the player to build as many of them as possible, while destroying as many of the enemy's as they can.
Ok I have several stupid questions: What are credits (funds) in space? How are non-vehicle units being made on the moon? Where are they getting all these materials? Oh well lol
I saw the credits as those being brought with you, while the tanks can be adjusted to have a sealed compartment. It still begs the question of how the air-breathing diesel engines work on the Moon!
Let's uh... not talk about the physics of building a base on the Moon and deploying battle tanks there, or the logistics behind transporting all of that with a 20th century rocket, or... just forget it and enjoy the mission dammit. You freaking nerd. Definitely the highlight of YR, this mission is probably one of the most memorable missions in CnC, despite being so short and simple. It would've been really nice if there was something more to this mission, but oh well, let's go raze Yuri's ancestral homeland and be done with that maniac.
My solution to the money problem is giving me 185k credits and just keep training cosmonauts. Even so, every time I play this one I use up all 185k and still have some issues clearing bases if I’m not careful.
Yep, selling and building barracks are much cheaper than building cosmonauts. But you'll need 300APM to do that efficiently lol That outro, I thought Space hasn't been corrupted by capitalism, oh no. Tim Curry is doomed xD
You can build war factories instead, the efficiency is the same, but you need less APM. Also, war factories speed up building vehicles. But the most profitable option is to build and sell MCVs.
