Thank you Gary and Jo. Another informative video. it shows so well how to steek so that takes some of the scariness of it away. I so love the colors of this blanket. It is so beautiful. Have a fun weekend. Jeenee
When I made my blanket (with cat & wild roses) it was my first real steek. I did it exactly like you showed. And now I did my second steek ... even in a sweater! I had to knit it in the round because the stitch-pattern I wanted had a repeat of three rows. Because the yarn was cotton, I decided to do some machine stitching and zigzag before cutting. Hope this will do (soon enough the sweater season will start again)
Hi Sheila - We have had an avalanche of personnal, family and health issues to deal with over the last few months. Every time we think things are settling down something else comes along. Lets hope that we can get back up to speed again in the new year. We are planning a new video for 4th Jan - Thanks for your concern, Gary and Jo
Hello Chris. Thank you for your concern x Things have been very hectic with multiple things going on . Our intention is to bring out 2 videos soon but it keeps being put back by life! We hopefully will see you all soon! Thanks again Gary and Jo
Yes, it’s single crochet. But my question is do you take out those rows of crochet after you hand sew the edges? In the video at the end I can’t see the light blue rows anymore? Thanks. Hoping to try a small blanket this way.
Hi Jane - We miss you too - we have had a difficult time but if Jo is well enough I want produce a video for our 1 year youtube anniversary on the 4th January and get back into the swang of things from there. Thanks Gary and Jo
Simply beautiful. It gave me goosebumps just looking at it. Beautiful work.

That's a beautiful design.
Thank you! Cheers!
I love steeking so much!! I like to use a felting tool if I re-enforce at all after using proper "sticky" wool! I'm a dare devil!!
Same here Francesca! Felting it just makes me feel safer about steeking . Works a treat every time. X

Thank you for this video. I have avoided steeking but you make it look easy. By the way, what is your brother’s name who crochets?
You’re welcome 😊 he is Paul - yarn gods on instagram
What would be the result if I trapped every stitch with floating? Will there be any problems with its elasticity?
It would depend on the tension of the trapped yarn. Thanks very much

Thanks Diane I leave the crochet rows in but normally they would not be in a contrasting colour, that was just for the video. Thanks Gary
