Perhaps it would be a great idea to create a leaflet for the tourist information locations, guide books etc eventually. Anything the chapel earned could partly fund additional costs needed for the chapel in the future, donations to charities and provide the funds to keep the chateau and its estate as lovely as possible for the present and future visitors and guests

Stephanie is already working with the contracting company of the chapel restorers to do the beam replacement installation in the ceiling of the grand salon/floor of the rooms upstairs. Not the painting part but the structural engineering part. I am hoping they will stay on to get the terrace repaired too.
I had never noticed the use of purple in the chapel decor until now. The band running vertically on the inside of the arch looks incredible with the deep amethyst in the stained glass window. The complex color story is a triumph of design. The lighting is going to be the icing on the cake. The sconces, candelabras, and chandeliers will provide a completely different experience than the daylight throughthewindows. Both are going to be magical. It's a shame that the faces of the saints faded like that. They must have looked magnificent when new. I call discussion of a restoration plan for them, too.
Stephanie, we can get by with a video going out a day or two later when you have an event on, especially a wedding! Please do not feel always obliged! Love and hugs!

Firstly, the Arts. This we can see in the exquisite beauty of the Lalande chapel. How it must have slowly uplifted her spirits as day by day she helped create such exquisite beauty. The second was her spiritual belief which is also recognized as an instrument of healing. She was a survivor. Instinctively she turned towards age old ways of healing. So, Stephanie your chapel is a place of healing. Your own positive spirit enhances that healing energy. It must be a very special place to pray…

I was excited to see one of my favorite paintings hanging next to the portrait of George Washington in the Château you visited. There, on the left of the portrait was a small copy of Washington Praying at Valley Forge by American artist Arnold Friberg. I love that painting, and what a surprise to see it hanging in a French Château! I'm thrilled that Sarah and Steve are tying the knot!! Love you all

Very interesting about the ventilation in the chapel! I was wondering if the architect had a plan to address the moisture/humidity that might become an issue. So glad all that fine detailed restoration work will have the right conditions to endure.

Can't begin to thank the artisans restoring the chapel and you enough for sharing what is involved with us. Doubt any of us fully realized the level of work that would be required. It's extraordinary. I keep thinking of last year when we all first met Benoit. How he pointed out that the statues had been signed. The rarity of that. And now we learn how rare the Chapel's level of decoration really is. Benoit, Sebastian, all the artisans who have applied such dedication and skill to this jewel box of a chapel are remarkable. So are you, Steph, for never giving up and working so diligently to save what must be a vital piece of France's history. Thank you for sharing the journey. Blessings to all.
