Im getting terrified lol when im getting lazy to make a mision in Paris im make an a evil Teen and throw egg on someone door and see the message from police but successful prank 😂.Mission in Paris is hard to Im try to start from China ❤
@@CallMeLevels What! teens gonna get arrested if going to restaurant for a night date i didn't even know this little detail Sims 3 is actually my favourite ❤️✨
I played the sims 3 and the sims 1 as a kid a bit of sims 4 but it just bores me to death i don't understand people who buy all the packs (expect if you are a content creator i guess)
I think the worries about Sims 5 are entirely justified if the rumours we've heard so far are true. I wouldn't call myself a member of the Sims community either. For exactly the reasons you mentioned.
Yeah… if they are true I’m not gonna buy it. And that is destroying an era, I played sims since sims 1 and I loved it! But sims 4 really hasn’t met sims standard and I‘m really afraid sims 5 will be even worse
Hey, infants were just penciled in, quickly, and tight budgeted. Prolly cause it was never planned and EA just gave in last minute to the demands of it's fanbase. Very last minute, it shows.
Honestly!!!! However, for me the daycare thing works with infants. My biggest and only problem with the infants is that sometimes my sims will constantly pick them up and put them in either in the crib or play thing when I asked them to do something else and it will go on for several sims hours. It’s soooo annoying.
The infants are horrible! I used to love making huge chaotic families with like 10 toddlers, but now I just age the babies up to toddlers instantly with cheats to bypass the horrid little creatures that are the infants.
I got so mad trying to put my baby in the crib my sim would put them down and then pick them back up and put them on the floor over and over again. My sims 3 always did what I wanted I don’t consider it an upgrade other than graphics 🤦♀️ sadly I am shallow like that .
I isolated 100 sims they each had the basics but each of the isolation pods all had glass walls and they could all see each other the outcome was off the scale comedic and it was a long process moving in each one and removing the door so they had to live in a glorified glass box some sims made it 2 game weeks and the reaper kept glitching and then multiplying when most of the sims pretty much died at the same time I even have a screen shot where the grim reaper is crying 😂😂😂
*makes everyone plantsims and then makes non plant sims get eaten by cow plants while making the plantsims Level 10 in every skill, by cheating or grinding*
I totally agree with number 6 (all of them actually). I used to love all the stages in Sims 2. Sneaking out as a teenager, celebrating your wedding anniversary as an elder, everything was nice. In the Sims 4 there's nothing to do specifically for other life stages than adults.
Satch I fucking love you man. I’ve said it in other comments but I cannot stress enough that you are literally just a breath of fresh air. Keep being you!
if someone else talked smack like he does, they would come out as pretentious, but his delivery is absolutely perfect and naturally measured, love to hear his opinion anytime!
I agree so much on toxicity and coziness. I’ve been called stupid for enjoying the Star Wars pack and I’ve had people get so upset over mentioning meteors, burglars, anything uncomfortable because in their words, it’s their “safe space” and said people just need to mod those in and leave them alone.
100% agree with the “true authentic self” statement. im playing the sims to escape nuances of everyday real life not to watch my sim self suffer the same way i do 😂😂😂
I agree with the whole “create your best life” opinion and I’ve definitely done a little bit of creating myself in the sims when I was younger but not all the time. I prefer to play as fictional sims rather than representing my whole life in a game. For me it’s about creating fictional stories or worlds (sims2 and sims 3 are amazing for this), kind of like playing out my very own made up tv series. I don’t know how healthy it is to strive to recreate your own life in a game. In the sims 4 you can control so much, so there would be so much temptation to create an idealised version of your life that real life could never hold a candle to…can’t be great for mental health 🫤
Yeah I think creating yourself living the perfect life in the Sims is one step away from those people who spend every waking moment on second life, with these insanely jacked and fit and comically gorgeous characters that you obviously know is what they wish they looked like and not what they really look like, who live in beautiful mansions and have in-game children and in-game (also insanely beautiful) spouses and who get super defensive over these pixels on the screen and create all these in-game rules to protect themselves as they retreat further from reality into their fictionalized ideal world... Like the youtuber dsnl has very funny videos messing with people on Second Life (as did the Monster Factory videos made in second life) but at the same time you just feel so sad for the people behind the screens, how unhappy they must be with their real selves and their real lives, how little control they must feel they have irl to be so defensive, demanding, and dictatorial in-game. I do think projecting your life onto a computer character will worsen your unhappiness, deep down you know you truly aren't doing any real thing to improve your life, you're just coping. I just can't imagine that your character playing out a hollow, virtual life, playing through the motions of living in your perfect utopia without even truly reacting to any of the paradise that surrounds it, wouldn't become a complete symbol of your own feeling of inadequacy, and be a constant reminder that you are unhappy. Now that I really think about it, handing your emotional and mental well-being over to a digital, mathematical, truly lifeless platform that cannot comprehend the soul and emotion of a human is just about the worst thing I can imagine you could do for your mental health.
I made a playthrough with my simself once, but I didn't made his life perfect, I didn't start in a multimillion house or have the perfect wife/husband. I had to have drama to make it fun or I would get over it in 2 hours.
The thing about TS4 sims is that they can be very distinct from each other even if you don't use mods. But since they all behave the same way bc traits don't affect their personality whatsoever we got the impression that they all look the same I suppose.
I played since sims 1 and dont get people saying they dont have personality in sims 4. Maybe I never paid attention but they all feel the same to me. They dont have autonomous actions that would make they distinct, I simply control what they are gonna do. I have some memories from sims 2 that sims with high hygiene level, they would clean dishes after eating while others dont, but beside that its not like they were radically different. I need to play sims 2 and 3 again to notice the personality thing because for me they are the same as sims 4.
@@augusto7681 I think you will notice it more after playing TS3. The sims from that game have very distinct personalities and I dare say that they are the smartest sims of all the franchise.
@@Janis_Valerio I feel like in TS4 some traits are better than others in terms giving sims personality. I like goofballs, they often do mischevious interactions autonomously. But I have one sim that is childish and I literally forgot she had this trait, it did nothing.
@@augusto7681 You are not remembering correctly. I never played Sims 3 I went from Sims 2 to 4 and I was shocked (and disappointed) at the lack of sim personality in 4 in comparison to 2. In the Sims 2 they would autonomously have hobbies that they went to if you left them to be idle, a bookish sim would read, musical sims would dance or play an instrument, athletic sims would bounce a ball on their knees. They also had activities and discussions that they would like and dislike that affected their relationships as well as their mood. Sims would autonomously hate one another without your intervention if they had conflicting likes/dislikes and traits. Full friendships couldn't be made in a sim day no matter how compatible the sims were and there was definitely no chance of getting sims to successfully marry in one sim day! Every sim had autonomous behaviour related to their traits that they would do or not do. PLUS when their needs were low they wouldn't do skill making things you told them to do if it wasn't something that made them happy. (no grinding away with a sims hunger, bladder and sleep in the red) The sims 4 are also lacking intelligence - the sims will keep doing a task you've set until they bladder failure themselves or until they pass out. This just combines with the lack of personality to make them very meh and same-sy.
When I got SA I escaped real life just to play sims to distract myself but I don’t play as myself, I play as other characters and make them have a better life than I did. It helped me
Before EA got their greedy hands on the Sims I was a dedicated player of the Sims. But after EA took over and started to release these untested packs I went out and bought a game console but I still dabbled with the Sims. EA is all the bottom line thus Sims 5 will be another Simcity nightmare. I'll never cancel you. Keep the videos coming.
I will never cancel you Satch since I share the same sentiments with you. I totally agree that Sims 4 is no longer a life simulator but more of a building simulator. I also agree that TS5 might have a lot of micro transactions, they already expiremented on this with TS3 store and TS4 kits so I'm expecting for the worst for René
I truely appreciate how honest you are. When I was almost 200 lbs heavier I used to escape myself with a smaller version of myself in the sims. I got my shit together and lost the weight. I play my version of myself sometimes but mostly I just play the "best dealer" with basementals 😂😂😂😂 You and call me kevin are my faves because you're truely yourselves and don't shove sunshine up people's rears. Thanks for being here and your videos ❤
I'm gay, and I also couldn't care less about representation in the game. EA is overly concerned about these matters; they should focus more on other things.
I am a doll collector with a heavy focus on diaoramas and staging scenes AND a gamer and honestly the sims has always felt more like an extension of the doll hobby than the video game one. I play as a Sim-self who is essentially me without my physical disabilities, usually in a world filled with sims ive made of characters that I like in other media, and as you said its much more of an aesthetic build simulator than anything else. I like taking pictures of my sims doing things and occasionally do a challenge or two.
The thing about kits, is that they are purly cosmetic, and its not neseseraly a bad thing. Paid Cosmetic is a geart way to monotize a game without forcing the developers to lock actual content behind a pay-wall, so that way everyone can enjoy the game while the supporters simply have nicer things to flex with. But that doesnt really apply to the sims as it sells over-priced everything and there isnt really an insentive to buy cosmetic in order to "support the game", there is no "buy cosmetic and everyone gets a free update" trust system equation. Plus, they are defenetly too expensive, they dont even go on sells.
I do play a lot of other games, used to be competitive (raids, tournaments) when I was younger but nowadays I only play to relax so games like Sims or Stardew Valley are my jam. Also your point about not creating my simself is on point, I like playing my OCs more.
Also! I think infants were a mistake. Like what if I just wanna speed run a household or don’t want to actually deal with a child so much or don’t want to do a full family gameplay
Infants are so broken... And useless... I would prefer pre-teen life stage instead of them. But maybe better not if they would be"working" as well as what we've got 😂
Teens to adults are the only life stages that matter to me. Teens because you can get them ready skill wise for their careers, especially if you have a plan for them.
I’m so worried about the Sims 5, and I’m preparing myself to be disappointed. I really wish that they would bring back the magic of sims 2 and 3, but I don’t think they will. I wish they would just update those two, and I would pay any amount of money to play it, wouldn’t even mind the DLC if I would have the experience we used to have. Sims 3 packs were expensive too, but gave us so much that I really didn’t mind the price.
I relate to this entire statement! I feel the same way. Sims 2 & 3 was just brilliant and wonderfully made. Sims 4 is so dang cheap. I can only hope Sims 5 will look more like 2&3 but I’m not holding my breath.
I think Sims 4 sims are a lot easier to manipulate to either look either hyper realistic or more cartoony. I’ve only made a self sim once and I didn’t play very long. I tend to play more with occults. I wish there was more content for other life stages because then they wouldn’t be so boring.
Lol, it took me way to long to relized that you were talking about "kits" and not "kids" in your first point XD It changes the whole context of: "I like the way lots of the kits look" and I was like "What?! That sounds weird :'D"
Being an actual gamer in the sims 4 community is so terrible 😭😭 I am not a part of it we need a new sims community and to enter it you must pass a "not chronically online" test
@Simathon sims 3 from Instsnt Gaming for cheaper. Or CDKeys or G2A. Also I love games like Spiderman Remastered, I also like People Playground and I also love The Sapling , my gaming taste is kinda fluid and random lol, only thing I don't play are FPS games I really don't like these, anything else goes for me
Been a gamer since the late 90's and I can agree the Sims comunity can be so toxic even when you make constructive criticism you suddenly get downvoted or call bigot, racist etc. Which happened to me and I am just....I am sorry what? people are so trigger and snowflake like Satch says the Sims community can be. I do like playing the game being creative and more casual. But in the end I love to take up a gun in any other game and just blasting faces (I need to get back into Warframe as it is Tennocon this weekend)
@@ari-u4h8w👋 not sure what type of games you’re into, but a few (single/co op) games I tend to play other than the sims4 are; Medieval Dynasty , Stranded : Alien Dawn, Gord & once in a while I’ll play Dead island 2. None are quite like the sims however they keep me entertained which is a hard thing to do 😂 (you can build & decorate & worry about needs in both Medieval Dynasty & Stranded: Alien Dawn)
Build kits are also the most tempting for me. Least likely to break my game, and I am a builder at heart. I can at least just get the content I want without stuff I don't bundled in.
#5.. This one bugs Me to with EA and Maxis. They encourage You to be yourself and play your way ..as long as it stays in the rated PG12 area. God forbid there should be "scary" ghost or a burglar and don't even think about pinching someone.
G'day right back at ya!! I agree with your opinions. One thing I notice and that puts me off is the fact that all the sims have the same reactions to things. there is no variation. It's not as bad as it was when the game released. But can be quite boring after a while. I now spend most sim time building rather than the game play. I am probs going to wait a while before jumping in sims 5 and see how it goes first. There are many other games out there to play in the meantime :D Side note: I love your chaotic vids and have become a fast and avid fan. Keep it up!!
Agreed on all these. I feel like the only good thing from Sims 4 is the ability to change ambitions, and to work on other ambitions. I like that. I'll be going back to Sims 3.
I hated the idea of kits, but ended up trying them out. And honestly all my favorite stuff is from kits now. Book Nook might be the one I'd recommend most. Best chair/couch in the game, and the modular bookcases can make any space look really nice. Love being able to sneak a desk in with the books above it
I don't think that the Sims Community is toxic per se, but rather that the Sims FOUR Community is toxic. I haven't really encountered that much hate and toxicity in other games in the Sims franchise but I might be wrong.
8:20 I admit to be addicted to TS4 because I have mental issues I'm currently working through with therapy, life isn't great for me (whose is really?), and we found that through TS4 we find a lot that's going on in my brain and it's been super helpful for me. The same way kids therapists usually let the child play with toys and dollhouses and watch their train of thought. I am an adult and yes it's a good tool for me personally. I'm a bit ashamed of it but that's part of my healing ❤
PREACHHHHH!!!! The Sims 2 one is absolutely true!!! Ppl always say "I wish we had the details of Sims 2, the open world of Sims 3 and the graphics of Sims 4😍" and I'm like EWWW??!?!?? Sims 2 graphics are sooo cute, they are the only ones that look kinda realistic unlike those Sims 4 clay ppl 😭
The only people that should get cancelled in the sims communicate the toxically positive cash cows buying every single pack. No critical thinking, it's like they've never played a good game ever.
I've been playing TS2 for a while now and just yesterday I tried to get back into TS4. I couldn't get over the TS4 potato faces and the chunky clay hairs. I downloaded some default skin and eye replacements to pretty them up a bit but the hair styles look really bad and stiff in my opinion.
If anything. It’s refreshing to hear you be honest about the toxic community … I’m sick of all these prosimmers bigging ‘free’ packs up. But yet, come along the next expansion they start slagging it off. Full. Of. Sh*t.
well you are technically part of the sims community, u have a whole channel dedicated to the sims.. my unpopular opinion is that people are way too hard on the sims 4, before it was free, i wanted it for years and was so excited when i first got it. i love the game!
As someone who does more realistic/down-to-earth gameplay, i appreciate the diversity of the sims you can make in cas and in the BB items. I remember playing sims 2 and there only being 4 skin tones and almost no afro textured hair and all my sims ended up looking the same when i wanted to make sims that reflected my world. I understand making sims that are completely different from you to escape reality but i also think if the sims is being billed as a life simulator it needs to somewhat reflect what real life is.
I'm not the only one who would love if kits added a "world" category, am I? Even if it just has 3 or 4 lots on it and they're all empty. I think they'd sell a lot better than purely CAS or build ones, especially since Satch mentioned some themes not having a world to go with them. Not to mention if people only have the base game or an extra pack or two that may not even include a world. I think with how critical people were of the bugginess of Bust the Dust meant we'd most likely never get another gameplay kit, unfortunately, because I'd probably buy those too.
The second one about Sims 5 is worse than Sims 4 isn't even an unpopular opinion, well for me at least since I know about the speculations about microtransactions.
Yeah, I mean, we've been witnessing the downward spiral into seemingly endless DLCs for even more money (but with less content) ever since TS4 dropped, so I highly doubt they'll ever go back
there are so many things I want in the sims 4 to just make it more a LIFE simulator. daycare job, nursing homes, bands, periods for female sims, religion, drugs, mental health, drama, and somethings that aren't perfect in life. Because making your sims life perfect is boring.
I have an unpopular opinion! (by the way I loved yours) I don't think they should have added infants as a life stage. Now we have new borns and infants and why? That is a lot of baby time and I hate it!!! I would have rather had pre-teens.
I can agree with you on all levels. I never understood why most Sims players play themselves. I myself don't even have a sim-self, cuz I find it weird to have some kind of second life (to get rich or fuxx other sims). Oof. I'm very happy with my real life, so I prefer to see other sims characters grow and develop, also I enjoy storytelling. Unfortunately, this very aspect is also not developed very deeply in Sims 4, which is why I haven't touched the game for months. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to other live-simulation games with wholesome communities behind them.
Your introduction was hilarious and I’m Australian 😂 speaking of that,I wish we had an Australian themed pack.. I’m also looking forward to playing Life by you and para lives or whatever it is called
I think sims 5 will be mix between Sims mobile and Fortnite and I'm fearing 10 from now we will be like : "Sims 4 was actually great game 🤩 We even had 3 traits instead of 1"
You know it's going to happen! TS3 had so much hate when it came out, it was so buggy and imo the sims look awful. But as soon as TS4 came out and it look away things people liked from TS3, all of a sudden TS3 was the greatest game in the series 😂 I just wish they could go back to making the games as great as TS2 was. I have very very low expectations for TS5 especially with the few things we've seen from it so far.
I can agree with you on the Simmers not being gamers thing. It’s hard for me to find girls who are also into gaming so it’s something extra frustrating for me. I’ll say I like to play video games and they’ll be like “oh me too” but then when I ask them which games they like it’s always Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and the Sims lol.
Agree with you 100% on sims in the sims 2 looking more aesthetically pleasing! Something about it, it just strikes such a good balance between realism and cartoonish appeal.
You do a really good job at being unbiased about the life stages in your brutally honest reviews! I had no idea you didn’t care much for the other lifestages until this video I agree with a lot of your points, especially that last one. The Sims 4 was the first mainline Sims game I played, and when I first saw the personality options in the Sims 3 my jaw DROPPED
I also think that simmers aren’t proper gamers, I play the Sims 4 a lot and I definitely don’t consider myself a gamer. My friends saw the amount of hours I have been playing the game (which I won’t be sharing here for my own dignity) and they started asking me whether or not I considered myself a pro at the game and I straight up said “oh, you can’t really be a pro at this game, the second you learn the basics and a few of the cheats ur already a pro.” 😂
A short while ago I would have agreed but I’m current,y playing a save file someone else has set up and the way she uses the various game features such as the community board and clubs etc to make the game do what she wants is incredible to me, like I never would have using those things like that, so I think there are pro simmers in this game … or maybe I’m just clueless lol 😂
@@jimmyneutron129 It depends. I actually calculated how much I’d spent on the sims since I started playing in 2019. I have all expansions except high school years and all game packs except batuu (is that a game pack or expansion, I forget?) and I worked out I’d spent just under 300 euros. My gaming laptop cost nearly 2000 euros….
#5 whole heartedly agree! This is where “TS4 is just a happiness simulator” rings truest. I’m 39, I been through some shit, but the chaos is the best part of Sims games. I did enjoy one fully vanilla play-through in TS4, where my Simself did all the things and died old and happy… but as I started to play gen2, I got so bored and started looking for mods. If I had played a modded version of the game before the vanilla version, I wouldn’t own The Sims 4. It seems like EA was trying to capitalize on the fact that there’s a bunch of really unhappy millennials, who are going to have the nostalgia bug simply because of the title of the game. We’re the main ones buying it, so of course they cater to a bunch of unhappy 30-something-year-olds. It’s a bonus that any of those who purchased it can let their young children play it without much worry, because everything is so padded and safe.
Your opinion on “playing your true self” and how if you’re doing that you need to work on your real life because their is an issue 🤣🤣🤣 I absolutely cannot love this enough!!!!! Go SATCH ❤
I love my blooming rooms kit, it’s the only one I have bc I vehemently hated & opposed the idea of kits, but then I saw all the plants. And I was like, for $5, this is okay. Lol
Definitely agree on TS4 Sims' personalities. In TS 2-3 I could make my Sims' personalities fairly "normal", leave them completely to their whims and really interesting stuff would play out. Even the whim interactions with the townies were more interesting. Now in TS4 I have to set all kinds of crazy personality and environmental conditions in order for anything interesting to happen when I don't explicitly tell my Sims what to do. I like being able to make my Sims "normal", put them in decent environments and then let them go and see what's the craziest that can happen when there's no intervention from me. lol
Simmers are gamers, but they're their own group of gamers imo. I think "gamer" is a really wide umbrella that covers a lot. It covers people who play eSports, FPS/TPS, RPGs, there's puzzles and parkour and stealth and a whole lot of other genres and niches in games. You can have two gamers who play vastly different games but are still gamers. For example, if you played the fireboy/watergirl series, you're a gamer in the same sense as someone who played any of the Assassin's Creed games, but both of these gamers have played vastly different games with vastly different skill sets. Simmers are gamers. They play a video game. I think they're a subcategory of very "casual" gamers if you want to be specific, but they're still gamers. For anyone curious, I play loads of games other than Sims. Witcher, Assassin's Creed, Zelda games, Dark Souls, Genshin, Kingdom Two Crowns, ROBLOX games..... I kinda dabble a little in a lot, haha. Might address concerns of biases so thought I'd toss it in Also, being tired of the chronically online shit is such a mood, I felt that. Be careful tho, not caring about race and gender and orientation makes you a bigot these days according to Twitter- uh, I mean X
My unpopular opinion: open worlds are overrated. I think sims 4 worlds bad, but I also think that the concept of one world having multiple distinguished neighbourhoods and each neighbourhood has its own design (like terrain, skyline, decorative buildings etc) is actually pretty cool and makes the world actually feel like a big city/town. Ofc, unlike now, each world would need much more neighbourhoods and each neighbourhood needs to be open (meaning you can travel without loading screen within a neighbourhood but if you want to visit a different neighbourhood then you have a loading screen)
I agree with your opinions! Finally someone said that the sims 4 looks cartoony. I keep seeing comments on videos or shorts saying that the sims 4 has the best graphics/aesthetics, but I don't like them at all 😭 I feel like everything looks like it's made of clay or plastic idk, like The sims 3 looked so much more realistic, the details on the sims body/face, the water, everything looked sooo good. (also I was flabbergasted when I saw that the sims 2 and 3 pizza looks so real and then the sims 4 pizza looking like a piece of plastic 😭)
i’ve only ever used the sims for building, and i loooove kits! i wish we got a little more bang for our buck, but i think they allow for more niche items in the game that sometimes wouldn’t fit into a full pack (ie. pastel pop, blooming rooms, etc)
Hi. I like what you said. The only issue I had was with #5. I totally get what you’re saying about not replacing your true self with a virtual sim. However, when I was younger, I used sims as an escape because I really had no other choices. I grew up in a broken home, so being at home just completely sucked. We were poor, I never got an allowance or anything. So I never really had the clothes I wanted, my room was never really decorated how I liked. (I was a DIY queen, I tried my best, but obviously one can only do so much on a budget). I had some friends, but when I was stuck at home I had no means of socialization other than minimal internet use (no phone). So yeah, sims really did help me express myself in ways that I couldn’t in real life. And it helped me as an outlet and probably kept me out of lots of trouble! So, to say something like “just reevaluate your life” or “touch grass” I think it’s just really ignorant. And it almost sounds like when people say “if you’re depressed, just stop being depressed.” I’m not mad, I’m not into the whole cancel culture thing, because I think it’s stupid. I just wanted to offer some perspective.
Not to mention this can be said about any and all video games. You're still disconnecting yourself from reality and putting yourself into a fantasy world, regardless if you use a self insert or not.
I actually agree on everything you said. I started playing sims back in the days when the first title released and f*** I miss that time. Last time I have played Sims 4 is when it released and i found that it was too much of a downgrade compared to previous titles so i turn the page on this one. I think since EA shutdown Maxis that the next title main focus will be money income, like most live services games nowadays. I am so excited for Life by You I can't wait to play it haha. Paradox Interactive have a good history of creating really good games with awesome mod support. I have discovered your channel not long ago and i love the content you make. Keep up the good work and nice glasses by the way 😉
This was one of my favorite videos, you made some really good points and put into words some feelings I've had about the game that I couldn't explain myself. I've been playing "sims" brand games for almost 30 years and I'm really not excited about sims 5.
I smashed that like button so hard, maybe a little too hard, my poor tablet. Anyway, I agree with all of your unpopular opinions. I feel like a lot of simmers feel the same way, but they're too scared of the toxic community as you called them, they're too afraid of being canceled online than speaking their minds. People need to go outside more and touch grass. I love that saying 😂
Also a song that's very fitting as I was listening to Spotify just now, Zombified by Falling In Reverse. That song describes the community perfectly. 🤣
FINALLY someone else who thinks it's weird when people make a 'sim self'. I lived with a girl in university who made herself and her boyfriend on the sims 3 and got them married and made them have 4 children, one of which I vividly remember she named Hunter. She was of course absolutely fucking insane
5:03 I agree with that, on Twitter I saw a post about Life by you and how the characters looked, everyone was comparing them with how the alpha of the sims 4 looked, and I mean it makes sense that the alpha looked good because the game came out without a lot of features that were missing from the base game and open world and something about the cc in the sims 4 is that, I don't see people using the cc on buildings, in cas they do use cc but not in build mode, which is a shame because as a sims 2 player I would like to have those items or furniture and speaking of cc, I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE A CONSOLE PLAYER AND YOU CAN'T HAVE MODS, there are a lot of people playing Stardew Valley on console and I don't see them always crying because they can't have mods on their games
Facts!! There’s nothing wrong with Simmers not being “gamers!” There are gamers who *play* the sims, but a “simmer” is a whole different category and that! is! o! kay!
I used to own a sims fansite (It was called Missing Studios where you could create forum signature images) until The Sims 4 came out. I pretty much got bored with it instantly and wasn't overly happy with the number of missing staples at launch. I do try a new expansion every once in a while, but still get bored after an hour or so. I miss the challenge of The Sims 1 (Those sims were crazy!), the gameplay of The Sims 2 (The aspirations, wants, fears and memory systems were fantastic (Core features from the base game!). Especially how they affect the sims emotions. And the backstory for each family) and the ambition of The Sims 3 (Open worlds, create a style, meaty expansion packs. World Adventures was great value for money imo).
Verbalizing unpopular opinion #5 was *actually* really brave (7:20). I really agree with it though. I think you hit the nail on the head. Thanks for sharing that opinion!
It's funny but it wouldn't surprise me if people started viewing Sims 4 with rose-tinted glasses once Sims 5 comes out. Probably at that point you'll be able to buy the complete Sims 4 with all DLC at a steep discount. Plus you don't have to worry about EA releasing updates that keep breaking mods and introduce new bugs in the game. Modders can focus on fixing and improving everything EA neglected without getting steamrolled every time there's an update. Meanwhile Sims 5 will probably be an empty shell of a game on release.
I agree that The Sims Franchise takes advantage of the simmers because many simmers are not well experienced in gaming and have low expectations. The Sims takes advantage of the loyalty of its players, they know that even if a pack is BROKEN, most simmers will still buy it for one reason or another 🥺 it’s sad bcs at the moment it’s not like there’s any competition for the sims so they get away w/ it
I agree with almost all of your points. I’ve never created myself, I like to play characters from tv shows or movies actually😅 like, recreating scenarios of Sabrina the teenage witch, or path to stardom for Lisa from Blackpink 🙈 its weird to play those with you as a sim. And as you said, I also don’t care for family play stuff, raising children in sims is just tedious. The only thing keeping me with sims nowadays (I hate similar style games actually) is strong nostalgia for Sims 1 and 2. Back when the game had flare and character. I still hope they go back to the roots, but I think I might be very disappointed very soon.
I always watch you for reviews because you are so honest. I also love LGR for the same reasons. You can't ever be cancelled. Totally agree about the toxic community. It wasn't like this with Sims 2 and 3
Naw I watched because I knew I’d agree with most of what you have to say. I just wish there was more options in the game. Like you can turn off werewolves running around, but not vampires or celebrities. And like all the moles and stuff and the medical wearables, I totally get why people would want that, it’s great that it’s in the game. For me, I don’t care about my Sims being that real and I don’t use it, it could have been optional or free “kits.” And I wish we had more kits. Like I want a ton of kits to choose from. If they had more kits to choose from and lowered the price, people would buy a lot more. I’ve already decided I won’t be playing Sims 5. It makes me sad because I’ve loved the sims since the original game, but it’s not the same anymore. I’d honestly rather just have a reboot of the original game.
Hard agree on the “express your true self” point!! I love the options/variety, but the over-emphasis from the Sims team/community is too much 😅🫣 Like, I don’t want to make my life in my game…I already do that irl
Who else remembers that kids and teens from the sims 3 could get caught by the police if they were breaking havoc on the city? I miss those day.
Im getting terrified lol when im getting lazy to make a mision in Paris im make an a evil Teen and throw egg on someone door and see the message from police but successful prank 😂.Mission in Paris is hard to Im try to start from China ❤

We are the same!
Lol i barely play ts4 anymore.
I tried out the Horse ranch pack (🏴☠️😅) but i keep losing interest
I think the worries about Sims 5 are entirely justified if the rumours we've heard so far are true.
I wouldn't call myself a member of the Sims community either. For exactly the reasons you mentioned.
Yeah… if they are true I’m not gonna buy it. And that is destroying an era, I played sims since sims 1 and I loved it! But sims 4 really hasn’t met sims standard and I‘m really afraid sims 5 will be even worse
The job post finding EA put said it all
So I think it's fair to not call it rumors
@@NathalieCwiekSwiercz Until these things are officially confirmed, they are still rumours....🤪

I wish more people would talk about how the infants are broken. The parenting pack wasn’t made compatible with them and they don’t go to daycare!
Yeessss, also if you don't have the growing together pack, infants are pretty much pointless, the same as babies.
"I'm gonna play sims4 as my authentic self!"
_Proceeds to murder an entire family_
Lol😂
And the cherry on top, I proceed to name everyone after either a TAWOG character or a BFDI character. While I name my cow plants Audrey 😅
You won’t get cancelled you’re too iconic. Shanice shanice must live on
And her iconic sister
I totally agree with number 6 (all of them actually). I used to love all the stages in Sims 2. Sneaking out as a teenager, celebrating your wedding anniversary as an elder, everything was nice. In the Sims 4 there's nothing to do specifically for other life stages than adults.
Satch I fucking love you man. I’ve said it in other comments but I cannot stress enough that you are literally just a breath of fresh air. Keep being you!
He is my go to any time Ea releasing anything. I need to hear all of the info, warts and all.
Instead of Satch, I read Satan..😅
if someone else talked smack like he does, they would come out as pretentious, but his delivery is absolutely perfect and naturally measured, love to hear his opinion anytime!
100% agree with the “true authentic self” statement. im playing the sims to escape nuances of everyday real life not to watch my sim self suffer the same way i do 😂😂😂
Or have a better life 😭
Although, the original sims was intended to be the latter. It was a satire about consumerism inspired by Will Wright's house burning down.
@@sandroribeiro7644I’ve never created myself in the sims, but sammeee I get so bored when they’re happy. 😬😂😂
@@MiluielleI miss the sims 2 so much. You're right about it all!

Lol, me to 😂
I truely appreciate how honest you are.
When I was almost 200 lbs heavier I used to escape myself with a smaller version of myself in the sims. I got my shit together and lost the weight. I play my version of myself sometimes but mostly I just play the "best dealer" with basementals 😂😂😂😂

I do agree. I'm a gamer (like MMORPG) but I also play the Sims and it is different !
Try civ 6 if you like the sims it’s really fun.
Baldurs gate 3 is another really good simple game with a bit of a challenge to it as well if your willing to learn the combat system
As someone who’s played 100s of games though and recently getting into sims 4 it’s very underwhelming but still
Enjoyable
I agree with the ''express yourself'' i created myself once but it was weird for me hahaha, i love playing random characters too! ☺
Some people's real life does not afford them the luxury of expressing who they are.
Well can't you just age them up at any point?
Infants are so broken... And useless... I would prefer pre-teen life stage instead of them. But maybe better not if they would be"working" as well as what we've got 😂
Teens to adults are the only life stages that matter to me. Teens because you can get them ready skill wise for their careers, especially if you have a plan for them.
I honestly love how the sims 2 looks. It gave sims so much character
I 100% agree with the idea of simulating your real life in the sims being both creepy and sad.

You should never be cancelled because you are so honest, i love your video's the best.
Lol, it took me way to long to relized that you were talking about "kits" and not "kids" in your first point XD
It changes the whole context of: "I like the way lots of the kits look" and I was like "What?! That sounds weird :'D"

True. I love the Sims 2 community. It’s still pretty active, and they are nothing but positive.

The only people that should get cancelled in the sims communicate the toxically positive cash cows buying every single pack. No critical thinking, it's like they've never played a good game ever.
I never made myself as a sims for that same reason! I just wanna have fun, I’m not there to be me. I AM me
I love your new glasses Satch! I’m always here for your opinions, likely as they align with mine! Ha, thanks for another upload 🩶
"Toxic positivty" - Yes, exactly this.

this better be scandalous 😜
Yeah, I mean, we've been witnessing the downward spiral into seemingly endless DLCs for even more money (but with less content) ever since TS4 dropped, so I highly doubt they'll ever go back
I’m done with sims 5 since I don’t care about micro transactions, it’s bad enough we have so many DLC’s that have nothing in it
there are so many things I want in the sims 4 to just make it more a LIFE simulator. daycare job, nursing homes, bands, periods for female sims, religion, drugs, mental health, drama, and somethings that aren't perfect in life.

I had no idea you didn’t care much for the other lifestages until this video
I agree with a lot of your points, especially that last one.

I thrive off the blooming rooms kits. It's my favorite. I use it all the time
Your opinion on “playing your true self” and how if you’re doing that you need to work on your real life because their is an issue 🤣🤣🤣 I absolutely cannot love this enough!!!!! Go SATCH ❤
Simmers are definitely not real gamers 😂😂 big facts
I love my blooming rooms kit, it’s the only one I have bc I vehemently hated & opposed the idea of kits, but then I saw all the plants. And I was like, for $5, this is okay. Lol
I thought the same thing… until I realized I was getting a better bang for my buck with kits than whole ass expansion packs lol
Same!!! Some kits don't have enough items for the price but blooming is great, I also love bathroom clutter
We love satch boss mode. You vocalised literally all my opinions too loool 😭
Might address concerns of biases so thought I'd toss it in
Also, being tired of the chronically online shit is such a mood, I felt that.
Your backdrop looks so serene :) the shelf and that little plant are so nice 😮❤
i’ve only ever used the sims for building, and i loooove kits! i wish we got a little more bang for our buck, but i think they allow for more niche items in the game that sometimes wouldn’t fit into a full pack (ie. pastel pop, blooming rooms, etc)
@@winkatuck very much this! We are more immersed in video games than we’ve ever been before. It’s kind of the goal of devs, I feel like
I actually agree on everything you said. Keep up the good work and nice glasses by the way 😉
It is a downgrade in every way except graphics, which is not even a credit to the company but technology. Its incredible
5:03 I agree with that, on Twitter I saw a post about Life by you and how the characters looked, everyone was comparing them with how the alpha of the sims 4 looked, and I mean it makes sense that the alpha looked good because the game came out without a lot of features that were missing from the base game and open world
and something about the cc in the sims 4 is that, I don't see people using the cc on buildings, in cas they do use cc but not in build mode, which is a shame because as a sims 2 player I would like to have those items or furniture
and speaking of cc, I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE A CONSOLE PLAYER AND YOU CAN'T HAVE MODS, there are a lot of people playing Stardew Valley on console and I don't see them always crying because they can't have mods on their games
Facts!! There’s nothing wrong with Simmers not being “gamers!” There are gamers who *play* the sims, but a “simmer” is a whole different category and that! is! o! kay!
I love the build kits too, got quite a few of them recently and they have been great in starting to build proper houses
"Sims 4: Aesthetic Build Simulator" - True words have been spoken XD
It's funny but it wouldn't surprise me if people started viewing Sims 4 with rose-tinted glasses once Sims 5 comes out. Probably at that point you'll be able to buy the complete Sims 4 with all DLC at a steep discount. Plus you don't have to worry about EA releasing updates that keep breaking mods and introduce new bugs in the game. Modders can focus on fixing and improving everything EA neglected without getting steamrolled every time there's an update. Meanwhile Sims 5 will probably be an empty shell of a game on release.
For me its like a phase every month, one month I'll be playing sims 24/7, and then the other month tomb raider, assassins creed or smth
Exactly !
I still hope they go back to the roots, but I think I might be very disappointed very soon.
diversity should be expected and not something to applaud them for, especially in a LIFE SIMULATOR
