I wonder what the effect would be of the removal of these db killers on a stock Akrapovic exhaust with just the standard 1 exhaust pipe (not the full Akrapovic system) ???
I told my dealer as soon as I get home I'm taking them out and he said I already took them out. He didn't even realize there was two small Welds on them.Hhe was able to break them loose with the Hex head.
Have you considered also removing the grate/cover that goes over the end of the exhaust (the thing with the gasket)? Just looks like another small restriction.
Hey @RemboUSMC, I recently got the full Akra on my MS PP and I have mixed feelings about the purchase. I hope taking out the baffles helps. The Akra is plenty loud when idling or giving it a few revs at a stop. My issue is I would like to hear more in my helmet when I'm riding the canyons. My Pikes Peak is my sport bike and the sound is such a big part of the experience. I find I'm twisting the throttle more and going faster just so I can hear more of the bike's soundtrack. Looking forward to doing this - I really hope it helps. And if others have ideas I'm all "ears". :) Thanks for all that you do on this channel. I've learned a lot.
Just wondering why the need to remove baffles on full system ? On the end can yes I get as it doesn’t sound much different than standard . Ive ordered full system for my v4s as decided to keep it as it’s mainly for touring as I have the 1299fe for scratching . I’m only changing to help with economy hopefully as I’d lose too much to change for the rally I think and as much as I love the look of the pikes peak the extra £9k I’d need to get same spec I can’t justify
Those two metal parts in the muffler are killing 0db’s. Totally unnecessary removal. imho. They probably have a purpose, but killing the sound is not one of them.
This is one of the reasons I avoid Akrapovic like the plague. They never sound the best, re never lightest, and never easy to remove baffles, but are the most expensive. I don’t get it.
Now do us all a favor and put them back on. Loud pipes don't save lives, they just annoy non-bikers and make them complain to people (and, honestly, quite righly so) who then forbid bikers to ride in places. I left my XR standard and make sure i never ride in dynamic mode in build up areas, just out of consideration.
In comparison to the Harley and Indian guys, and in comparison to many people with straight pipes, this bike is not so loud, but significantly louder than it was stock. The initial change was based on performance not noise, but the increase is actually appreciated.
@@RemboUSMC he probably don't ride a motorcycle at all if he say that loud exhausts don't save lives. And I'll tell you that not once or twice I had a situation where people using phones while driving suddenly woke up behind the wheel also when changing lanes, people don't look in the mirrors and when they hear something approaching, they suddenly have an epiphany that they are not alone on the road
Hello my friend! I’ve the same bike with full Akrapovic. Could you tell me if after removing the db killers the sound changes? Does it make a lot more noise? Have you an Instagram account?😊
Would you go through the trouble to remove the DB Killers on this race exhaust?
Nope.
Time will tell. Still waiting for my exhaust. Been on backorder since forener …
@@yvindgoksyr7028 Hopefully it will arrive soon.
Nope. Sounds perfect for me.
@@yvindgoksyr7028 mine took a little over a month back in 2021, looks like the supply chain got even worse
I have the full system but I may be getting old because I prefer a quiet bike these days, especially on long journeys
Your reaction reminded me of me when I put the full Termignoni system on my streetfighter, IT'S LOUD! lol
I am liking it. OK, I am loving it.
I took mine out right away, and to me it sounds better with them out. It isn't that much louder with them out, and certainly is not obnoxious.

In the meantime I found out that there are no db-killers whatsoever in the standard Akrapovic exhaust …
I told my dealer as soon as I get home I'm taking them out and he said I already took them out. He didn't even realize there was two small Welds on them.Hhe was able to break them loose with the Hex head.
mine was a bit more complicated than yours , the bottom one was welded in between the exhaust
speaking of which id love to see you start reviewing some BMWS gs and rt
Thank you. That sounds really, really good.
Glad you like it! It is way, way better in person.
Absolutely Rembo ! Sound is amazing with out the Killers ! Hard to believe but yes ! Make a difference 👌✌️
I had a full Akrapovic installed this week and I didn't have these db killers. Has anyone had such a situation?
I see that You "closed the rear tire" on the track - way to go!!!
Forza Rembo.
Grazie!

No, not at all. I don't think restriction is an issue anymore.

Very interesting take on this situation. Thank you so much for sharing thought-provoking.
@@RemboUSMCWhat’s the current configuration of your Akra exhaust - DB killers in or out? And if they are back in the exhaust, why did you reinstall?
I heard a multistrada 1260 with full termignoni system on and the sound is x10 times better than the V4.
Euro 5 really messed the V4
Did you have to re-map the ECU? I have a 2023 Ducati Diavel V4 I will be removing the db killers.
Not at all for what I did with the silencers. With the new full race exhaust, however, it is a completely new MAP.
@@RemboUSMC ok thanks 👍
Hi mate how do you think it will fair with touring
On the highway, it is quiet unless you really get on it.
Hello i just want to ask what tire pressure u put front and rear for the stock tire? Thanks
34 & 34 PSI
Thank you😊
@@cloatanlamid9751 You are welcome
Are the cats removed with the full exhaust? Never know with a manufacturer system.
Yes removed the cat
Did you replace the screws that hold the baffles in or just left them out? Don't know if the two small holes still open would make a difference.
Out. No reason to have screws that are not doing anything
@@RemboUSMC Roger that! Just removed the bottom baffle, was a PITA to get it out once I had the screw out. Hopefully top one goes easier.
top one was easypeasy. out in 5 min.
That’s not a full system though right ??? Just the akra end van which comes with pikes peak ?
The system was replaced including the Akro. The new Acro has 2 pipes coming into it. The stock only has 1 in.

Gracias por mostrar esos hermosos detalles 🎉
You don’t actually need to grind those spot welds. Normally they go with a twist.
Not these. I almost stripped out the hole. They were not budging
Well I take that back. Just didn’t look like you tried in the vid. Nice one
Sounds awesome and extra weight saving 😉
It does!
I don’t believe those little pieces are baffles! It sounded better when you picked up your PP from the dealership 🤔
Oh it is sounding really good when you pull in the clutch and put it in 1st.

Also fully Ducati warrantied and includes the Evo map so well worth it.
So dumb.

makes no much difference stock or not
you want a happy meal?
I guess late 23s do not have the ability to remove these baffles, if they are even there on my bike, I don't see them…
Only on the full race exhaust as far as I am aware, not the stock
