Great review, as always. Of all the shoes you have tried, which would you recommend for someone who wanted to treat 30-400-meter efforts as all-out sprints on the road? So far, the best I've tried is the Adidas Takumi Sen.

That’s a good question, I’d have to take them both out back to back to make a choice. It’s a close call.
Now add the Takumi Sen 8 into this discussion, especially with the price drops ($140 on RW).

Looking forward to all the SC Comp ones for sure - EddBud on his reviews that as time goes on the StreakFly gets very sloppy the upper did not hold its shape well, curious if you have seen the same. Agreed bring in Megan or Robbe and go 3 shoes with the Takumi Sen. I guess if you needed a 4th Hyperion Tempo - will we see an update there?
Love this series, BITR team! How about Streakfly vs Rebel? Streakfly seems like it might still be mellower and more versatile despite being a “racer”?
Can’t wait for the SC Pacer to come out over here. Sounds intriguing and I want to feel it for myself.
Love the versatility of the Streakfly, although I fully agree that on race day, the Vaporfly is coming out to play.
The Takumi Sen 8 is definitely my favourite of the new breed superflats so far. How does the Pacer compare to that?
I keep hearing ppl say takumi is better than streakfly but i think many refuse to give it to the takumi because weight is that important, which idt it matters as much
Would same apply for takumi sen 8 Vs adios pro 2? Would you just use the adios 2?
You can get the vaporfly (In certain colorways) for almost same price as the streakfly. I faced that choice and went vaporfly.

I could see them having more of a place in the running shoe world if they were lighter. They look like they should have a bigger difference in weight class from the max stack racers than they actually do.
Track: 5000m
Road: 5K
Any 5000 / 10000m flats being made? (sub 25mm stack height). All I've found is the NB1400s (25mm) and the Saucony fasttwitch 9 (19mm)
Wondering if these are more intended for the Park Run crowd in the UK and other European countries? We have a lot of 5k’s here in the USA but it’s not as much a part of the running culture as Park Run has become.
I think there is a difference but you don't have to wear that shoe for races. In training you have better ground feel especially if the surface is softer like track or treadmill when the shoe has lower profile. Also different type of shoes activate small muscles differently. I like more minimalistic shoes when I do 400-1000m reps but I don't want to wear them for a long distance. That means that the total volume of that quality work could be between 5 and 10k before I switch to other shoes for cooldown again. For example Puma Liberate Nitro is an awesome training shoe for fast paces which makes calves stronger but I wouldn't wear it for any race.
FuelCell feels slow if one isn't running fast. After injuries and sickness I really couldn't run in RC Elite v2. The fitness wasn't there. Then after few weeks training, the shoe felt great again. One really has to be willing to push and not to run having eggs in pockets. When you run anything under 6 minutes per mile paces then the cushioning feels good and you get instant response from the plate. At least in the RC Elite v2.
I wouldn't want to run on a road in either of those shoes. Why would anyone want to wear a workout shoe on road? Most runners do so often workouts on track that it's good to have shoes just for that purpose.
The World Athletics approved shoes for on the track have 20mm or less stack in the heel. I cannot find the SC Pacer stack height, but if it's 20mm and you throw in a 4-spike configuration, it might be a giant killer on the track for 5k or 5000 meters. Or 10k or 10,000 meters. Cushioned distance spikes are so hot right now.
The world athletics approved is less than 20mm until 800m and less 25mm for event more than 800m. So for 5000m or 10000m, you could use shoes with a stack of 25mm. But I'm not sure these shoes could be approved because the carbon plate.
@@zuburck Yep! I went back and looked at the WA list of approved shoes and learned that, but never corrected here. Carbon plate is OK, as long as there is only one.
@@tazpengra So in Japan, popular running chain shops give them a stack of 26mm... And say it could not compete on track. But nothing official from world athletics. Their list hasn't been updated from several months
What’s the prediction for the durability for the sc pacer?
We could also compare them with the Metaspeed Edge?

No contest there. Love Atreyu, but the Pacer is more sophisticated tech.
If you had to choose between these two for the intended road 5k purpose tho which would you choose ??

A new old category...once upon a time race shoes were lightweight with low stack.
I think 5/10k category is no sense .. Vaporfly and other super shoes has much energy return compared to 5/10 cat..
The peg turbo released years ago and is better than both of these, AND you can find them for cheap on Stock X, GOAT, and eBay.
Seems like this is just the pendulum swinging back from super high stack.

As usual, Nike makes so few that it is now twice the price on after market online sites. So yeah...
